I was checking Rovers fixtures between now and the end of the season and noticed that we have seven games in April, all of which are scheduled. For clubs involved in promotion and relegation this could really be a defining time but this congestion has been caused by there being no fixtures over Easter because of International friendlies. It used to be said that Easter was a crucial time in our domestic calendar but it appears that now April will be just that. Easter will be strange this year with no game at Ewood.

Champions League, Premier League and Internationals - even friendlies - are all prioritised at the expense of Football League fixtures. The only one of those that I can stomach is Internationals but there is no need to take Easter out of the calendar - although to be fair, it is very early this year (don't forget it's Mothering Sunday next week folks!).

'Unless the club gets promoted'

That is the top and bottom of it I'm afraid. With their recent history the clampets are a bit more appealing and they've always played the small town underdog card to perfection. Christ when Coyle was there and Alistar Campbell was providing spin for the club the towns population got smaller in every national newspaper interview in a bid to try and paint their support as something unique.

90k then 75 and I think he bottomed it out at about 60 thousand by the time it made the Guardian. Whole areas of Burnley kept just disappearing

I don't know for sure but I would imagine their club does get marketed around those Yorkshire areas although they still can't fill the Turd. We on the other hand are struggling to get people across the road from Mill hill !

I just can't see how a name like "Burnley" would appeal to kids in the slightest. Don't think I've ever heard a less marketable (other than vulgarities) name in my life. Rovers should make a big deal out of having a far catchier name than the other Lancashire (not including Bolton just modern day) clubs even in the Championship its an advantage. Its been a while since I've been a kid of course (not that I'm anywhere near middle aged yet!) but I still remember what's cool to them and what isn't! If Burnley were in the Champions League and Rovers were in League 2 they still wouldn't be as marketable with that awful, bland, boring name. Accrington Stanley are more marketable than them! Some kids may only see a select few clubs as "cool" but those that want to stay local as possible could at least choose a club with a decent name! Forget about my other views regarding Burnley and just focus on my comments about the name! Just for that reason alone I wish they were not associated with Rovers. Just the mere association hurts Rovers marketing value.

Seriously if they didn't have such a depressing name the endless singing (even after Jordi's goal yesterday they couldn't even chant his name instead) wouldn't bother me as much! Honestly if it was Preston (virtually same distance so using them as an example) who were the focus of so much chanting it wouldn't irk me as much though "North End" is too regional for marketing purposes. Still since my mood is a lot calmer these days its a lot easier to ignore it. Before Abbey and co come back with the usual retorts even people who hate them get sick of the tiresome repetitive chanting.

The dingles lost their way when they changed their name from Burnley Rovers 0

EXCUSE ME but it was you who started it just because I mentioned Derby v United when nobody else was playing that night. Goodness me someone mentioned United v Arsenal earlier CALL THE POLICE!!!

All about you...all about what Abbey wants...we must hate Preston because Abbey does...Paul Robinson's the devil incarnate...how about letting others express a different opinion?

It isn't nonsense either unlike a considerable amount of your posts. Whether you like it or not several people have said there's too much chanting about them. How about you stop being blindly ignorant to perfectly legitimate points? Its not like you have been "Mr Popular" on here in the past few weeks so don't accuse me of spoiling anything. You might ignore it but many people have reacted positively to my return and said my posts have improved. They have become more argumentative in the last few days but I'm working on toning things down.

Not going to be accused of talking nonsense by a fool who's first question to his future wife was whether she supported Burnley or not. Not to mention saying you would have walked away had she said yes. How does your son feel about that?

Got the nerve to call me an obsessed loon.

Now you can respond to this and possibly prolong an argument or say nothing at all. Personally I hope you choose the latter. Ironic thing is we are very much alike in terms of being blunt and direct with our opinions. Though there is certainly a contrast between our articulation methods.

I walked up Pen-Y-Ghent today, in the pub at the bottom they had a load of Dingle memorabilia which I found odd! Thought they'd be Leeds there!

Lot of Burnley fans around that corner of Lancashire/Yorkshire. I have a lot of mates from Bentham, Clapham and round there, loads of them support Burnley. As the crow flies its quite close.
