Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted March 19, 2016 Moderation Lead Posted March 19, 2016 I couldn't care less about being right or not. What have I got to prove ? As long as the team is doing well I couldn't be happier.I probably should have written 'some people', as that is what I meant!

Husky Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 The Burnley train has been stopped in it's tracks. Still plenty of time left to bottle it.....
Neal Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Looking at the team Bristol have put together, they could do something next season if they can get some of their loanees signed. Tomlin and Odemwingie are cracking signings...i'd be looking to take both and do a Bennett on them again.
old darwen blue Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 The thought of them being awarded this in May makes me feel a little nauseous
Stuart Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 The thought of them being awarded this in May makes me feel a little nauseous It'd probably make the people who run "Skybet" nauseous too!
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 The Burnley train has been stopped in it's tracks. Still plenty of time left to bottle it..... They haven't out played a opposing team for a while now if you follow match stats. They keep picking up the points though.

Amo Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Eh? Nauseous means to cause sickness. Nauseated means to feel sick. *adjusts glasses*

Good player on his day but his attitude is very questionable. We're trying to get rid of bad eggs I thought. He would have been a better bet for ' Boro than he who shall not be named though.
Norbert Rassragr Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 He might randomly turn up at Brockhall expecting a big contract anyway.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 True and they dont lose ! They'll lose plenty next season with that team. I can't see many of their players being sought by teams further up the food chain. Maybe the goalkeeper and Grey. They'll have plenty of dosh for replacements but will they spend it ? Previous experiences says they won't.
Waggy76 Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 I agree , its the manager that has made Burnley and to be honest I am surprised , he is still there...
Husky Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 I agree , its the manager that has made Burnley and to be honest I am surprised , he is still there... Surely he must have been courted? Loyalty? When Burnley lose at Brighton on April 2nd the title race will be blown wide open again.
booth Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Surely he must have been courted? Loyalty? Was he not on his way to Sunderland then got knocked back at the last minute.
tomphil Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Burnley opened the purse strings a bit for him and he seems to have a free hand there on football matters and is also heavily involved in creating their new training complex. These will have been done to keep him happy buut I would think failure to back him in trying to actually establish themselves in the Prem this time should they go up will see him off sooner or later I reckon.
chaddyrovers Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 I agree , its the manager that has made Burnley and to be honest I am surprised , he is still there... Wasn't Sunderland looking at bringing Dyche in as manager before Advocaat decide to come back as head coach there. Then Burnley offer him a new contract and they went and spend 9 mil on Andre Gray. Probably just to keep him there.
Doug Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Talking to the six fingered one at work and he is quite adamant that Barton has been an enormous part of the team this year. We need a 'Barton' type player and my gut (and eyes) tells me Gomez isn't that player. Posters have mentioned Adam and I would like to see him, but I will throw Kevin Nolan into the suggestion box. I have a love hate personal view, but I admire his spirit and leadership qualities. He's 33, player manager at Orient so may be happy. But this is the type of player we are missing and we must have at least one next season (IMO of course).

Anybody who thinks he's not a player isn't watching him with any objectivity. Robbie Savage with ability and real aggression.Wether he can be as influential back in the Prem is another story.
tomphil Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Bartons also a crafty bugger, winning free kicks, constantly on at the ref and his own teammates , winding up opposition players and basically using all his experience. It's good Lambert has got us far tougher and more organised but we still lack organisers on the pitch in my view.

perthblue02 Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Might be a bit out of leftfield , but is anyone wondering what a fully fit Lowe under the guidance of Lambert (i.e having all the boreya influence knocked out of him) will be like. He could possibly do a lot of the work that Barton is doing for that lot, breaking up play, hassling opponents midfield etc obviously would need a decent ball player alongside him. Still youngish so hopefully can be moulded by a decent manager
