oldjamfan1 Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 A particularly obnoxious and arrogant Bumley fan I know reckons they will walk the play-offs even if they don't finish in the top two. If they finish 3rd they won't go up in my opinion. It will be very, very hard for Whichever team that finishes 3rd and therefore misses out on automatic promotion by a whisker to raise themselves for the play-offs having been so close to promotion. It's happened plenty of times in these circumstances where a 3rd place team just missing out on automatic promotion have not even got past the two-legged part of the play-offs. It's different if the 3rd place team finishes well-behind 2nd place, but in Bumleys case having been in the top two for so long and looking like they were going up as champions a few weeks back, the disappointment would be huge. I agree - I think Derby might triumph in the play offs this time

Tyrone Shoelaces Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 As much as I don't like to admit it, I think they'll get automatic promotion. Particularly when you consider that Brighton and 'Boro play each other the last game of the season. Just hope it isn't as Champions, it means they're getting one closer to our trophy haul! Yeh me too. That Boro v Brighton game means I can't paint a picture were they miss out. If Boro had have hung on last night it would have been a different story.
47er Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Yeah, come on Preston ! Never thought I'd read that on here but quite agree!
Parsonblue Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 It's a pity that Venky's haven't looked across at our near neighbours and used them as a guide for how to run a football club. Shrewd management in the boardroom, retaining a bright manager following relegation and assembling a squad without breaking the bank, indeed, making a profit in the process and in with an excellent chance of returning to the Premier League in time to pick up the new riches on offer next season. Burnley have already used the money from their previous brief flirtations with the Premier League to secure the long term future of the club rather than pay inflated wages to players who were well past their prime. A stark contrast to how Venky's have operated since our relegation.

perthblue02 Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Celino suspended and fined again http://www.thefa.com/news/governance/2016/apr/edoardo-cellino-banned-200416 What a pity he does not have a FA approved agent and former FA business partner under contract to run the club on his behalf, then he could get away with anything he wants without so much of a wrinkling of an FA tie or a glance up from a free lunch

Cellino senior is still in the process of appealing his second suspension from being a director.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Rochdale have a really promising young midfielder. A lad called Callum Camps. I haven't seen him play but mates of mine who have rate him very highly indeed. The latest information is he's off to Burnley in the summer.

gumboots Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 As long as his car battery isn't flat! :-) he heard the stadium announcer during the match reading the reg of a car in the car park whose owner had left the lights on, and realised it was his http://mobile.football-league.co.uk/news/article/2016/rochdale-headlights-on-head-in-the-game-callum-camps-3070362.aspx#slCJVQXrqTEDvBAX.01
Gav Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 burnley still got tickets left for Preston on Friday, seems like a promotion push just isn't getting the locals juices flowing..... Poor!
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Rumours on the Rochdale board that Keith Hill and Bury's Dave Flitcroft are being sounded out for the Bolton job. I rate Hill very highly, he's worked miracles at Rochdale.
BlueMonday Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Let's hope Preston are the big licks they THINK they are. Unfortunately looks like the dingles will go straight up. They have a resilience and the luck you need for promotion. I think Boro will slip up.
oldjamfan1 Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 For one day only....COME ON PKE!!! I wonder if the Dingles messageboards are currently being infiltrated by Knob Enders taunting them that they took more to t'Turd than Burnley will to Dumpdale, or better still, that Rovers sold more tickets for their game at Preston than Burnley have, despite them being on the verge of promotion.
MCMC1875 Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 PAUL GALLAGHER, SON OF BLACKBURN, DO YOUR DUTY. COME ON GALLY!!!!
Gav Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Come on PNE! (Pity they're rubbish) Have they built some temporary stands in Moor Park to hold the thousands locked out? I hope that little rat Garner does himself on the post whilst scoring the winner, if only Carlsberg did football games.
Backroom Tom Posted April 22, 2016 Backroom Posted April 22, 2016 I'd take that Gav, him sliding in and knocking one in at the back post whilst doing his best Phil Babb impression would be nice
A cup of beans Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Come on PNE! (Pity they're rubbish) Have they built some temporary stands in Moor Park to hold the thousands locked out? I hope that little rat Garner does himself on the post whilst scoring the winner, if only Carlsberg did football games. I think Rovers miss some of Garner's spite, snide and work ethic. He's one of those players, if he plays for your team, he's adored.
BlueMonday Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Tonight we find out how sh!t Preston really are
Lancaster Rover Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 I don't understand Garners issue with Rovers, at the time he was here there was no way he was ever getting close to being in the first team. Even now he has only made it to the championship by playing for a club he was promoted with. Strange lad

He's found his level I'd imagine, probably punching slightly above it actually, but if he scores a hatrick tonight I'll take his ugly mug down off my dartboard

Tyrone Shoelaces Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 It's got Preston 0 - Burnley 1 written all over it.
JHRover Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 It's got Preston 0 - Burnley 1 written all over it. Preston to dominate possession, attempts, corners, shots, probably hit the woodwork or miss numerous golden opportunities. Burnley to have one attempt on target and score. Even their own deluded fans will admit they were very fortunate to get anything out of the game. That's happened 15-20 times this season and I expect will happen again tonight.
