Off to rural Spain tomorrow for two weeks thank God. It'll be a British football free zone for the foreseeable future. Am I the only one who doesn't give a @#/? about Leicester either ?

I think the Premier League thread is the antidote to this one at the moment.

Feel the same. Too disenchanted to care. Leicester don't give a toss about our struggles so hardly going to be all happy about their success.

I'm glad Leicester won. It's a great story. I enjoy good football so am happy to watch anything. I'm not bothered about Rovers. They are a mess. Ruined by incompetence, stubbornness, and if stories are to be believed downright skulduggery.

No-one's wishing them well surely...........

I hope they come back down next season with ten points. Can't see the harm in acknowledging it's an excellent achievement by them after the event though.

Nothing left for this abhorrence of a season but to hope Boro squeak up then the crap deal we negotiated for Rhodes doesn't get any worse.

Ha! 3rd Rhodes thread Rev!

I don't understand why some people are THAT @#/? off about Burnley's promotion. It was hardly a surprise, they kept most of their team together, splashed a bit of their most stingily hoarded cash AND they were joint favourites for promotion before a ball was kicked.

And as most of us know - there haven't been any stand out teams in The Championship for a few years. We probably had the best team (on paper) at one point when Groundhog was killing us softly with his long (and unbearable reign).

If you don't understand now, you'll never understand Husky.

I never thought I'd ever say this, but after Lamberts departure I think I hate Venkys more than I hate those inbred ***'s down the M65.

Burnley were nailed on for promotion in my book after watching them win at Ewood in the autumn - they didn't look anything special and in fact we were the better side but they were a solid unit that knew their way round the football pitch and nicked a goal when it mattered. Good luck to them and I hope they do well in the Prem - if only to show the naysayers and doom-mongers in this area that Lancashire clubs can compete in the top flight if they are well managed.

I'm pleased for Leicester but the sight of Lineker celebrating on MotD stuck in the craw - I'll never forget his gloating "shame about Blackburn" comment on a sports quiz programme after we were relegated in 1998. He's never liked Rovers and I feel the same about him.

Burnley in the premier if they spend the 30million they made this season I can see them surviving.Im just glad we don't play them next season.Losing to Wigan won't hurt as much.

I say good luck to Burnley. They have shown that just being consistent how to get promoted. You just cant help wondering about Rovers own plight if they had just learned over the past 3 years about simple consistency on the pitch.

Rovers have blown the last chance of ever getting back to the Premier League (especially under these tools).

What money on Hanley going to Burnley in the close season.

Personally not certain how they got promoted - number of times I listened to Radio Lancs when commentators were saying how lucky Burnley were - how many times they sneaked 1-0 wins when playing poorly is unreal. There is a huge difference between resilience and luck.

Having said that - things have now gone full circle - with us the poor relations - and unless a miracle happens I can see that being the case for a very long time.

Luck doesn't last over a whole season. Burnley have been promoted because they deserve it, whether people like that or not. If you have a solid defence, a good work ethic, consistent performers and contributors to the goals for column across the pitch then you're set in this league. Burnley have all of those so it's hardly a surprise they're going up. I'd argue we have none of the above attributes, which is why we are where we are.

I hope they lose every game, treat the fans like sh1t as they did last time they went up, and that will knock another few thousand of the gates when they come back down.

Its amazing how last season's relegation has been airbrushed from history, or at least transformed from the failure that it was into some supposedly grand plan thought up by pioneers of football. Apparently Burnley deliberately got relegated last season as part of a longer term scheme to establish themselves in the top flight. Codswallop.

They've used their Premier League money to put together a very strong and resilient Championship side, that has the knack and know-how to perform well in this frankly awful standard league that we are in. To succeed in the Championship you don't need quality, depth or flair. You need consistency, resilience, to get on the right side of the narrow margins, know how to play the inept officials like Dyche and Barton do every week.

To succeed in the Premier League you need a lot more. They found this out last season when they were relegated, and unless they radically change their approach and spend big or unearth some worldbeaters on a limited budget then the same will happen next season. Watford signed an entire new squad and have run out of steam. Bournemouth spent £30 million and have survived by the skin of their teeth.

The media mafia who eat out of Dyche's hands every week are already hard at work making him into some sort of football goliath whilst completely ignoring the fact that his win percentage in the top flight is among the worst in history. Fair enough, he didn't spend big by top flight standards last season, but the best managers succeed on limited funds, and Dyche failed.

Far too much respect being shown to that lot. They made a choice that they were spending their money on good Championship players rather than Premiership players and the result was relegation at the first time of asking but the benefit was a strong squad for this season. I reckon if we did the same - got up and pocketed all the money - Venkys would be lambasted by Rovers fans for trousering the money and making no effort to survive, yet the Burnley directors are praised as having discovered the new way forward for all promoted clubs - instead of following the Stokes, Swanseas etc. who have established themselves without risking their futures.

Fortunately it will be a long road to making themselves an established Prem Club, which means they remain in our shadow. The problems arise when you've been in the Prem for a number of years and the wage bill starts to rise and players start to agitate for moves. That's when you've arrived.

Blackburn Rovers STILL the most successful Town Team in the World.

Very happy to see the big boys beaten by another unfashionable club - and while it's easy to come to the conclusion that they didn't have the money that we had, to win it - which is true, not many people are saying that Leicester took full advantage of the (probably temporary) decline of Liverpool, Man U, Arsenal and Chelsea. When we won it, we had to beat a Man U side containing the likes of Schmeichel, Bruce, Pallister, Kean, Cantona, Beckham, Scholes, Giggs, Cole etc....etc.... - all of whom were at the pinnacle of their careers. Would Leicester have beaten them to the title?

Leicester's achievement is remarkable but the supposed big clubs rolled over and had their bellies tickled. A lack of quality at the top of the Prem and Leicester playing umpteen games less in a season than their rivals certainly helped. I just can't believe that defence has won the title. Danny Simpson for Christ's sake.

This may be the Champ thread but I'm happy to talk about anything but the inbreds.

Well it certainly helps when you don't know any Dingles and live (mostly) thousands of kilometres away.

Heck I'd probably hate Leicester if I had a fan banging on about them and taking the @#/? out of Rovers.

I just don't feel this 'dislike' of Burnley unless I'm at the match. As I've said before on here - it's very liberating to be in another Country - as unless I specifically seek it out nothing that happens back home exists.
