arbitro Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Sadly, my thoughts for some time have been that they are preparing to bail out - all the signs are there. As I said on another thread yesterday, I think they will get out what they can (through sales) before 1 September (by part repayment of loans to VLL) and then leave us to the mercy of our creditors. Would not surprise me at all to see BOI take a debenture over Rovers (as they reserve the right to) and then take the flak (on behalf of V's) when the club enters administration. I don't understand all the financial stuff but I agree that they are looking to exit without a care for the mess that they have created and what is left behind. And, if true this will be a real show stopper but all this has inevitable for some time now and I am of the opinion that the sooner it happens the better. We will have to see what is left if this happens and make the best of it. With each passing day the club has been depreciating pretty much since they rolled up.

Never mind the other expenses but who will pay the players wages after the first month? I can't see many banks rolling with that one given our income expectations. No wages = no contracts = no players = club not fulfilling fixtures = liquidators = Armageddon. Or have I missed something?
Backroom DE. Posted July 15, 2015 Backroom Posted July 15, 2015 Surely Kamy no one can blame the venkymob for exercising caution after the goings on of the past 4 years. Can they? Not that I believe this is purely down to caution, but worth noting if they had employed a proper board room structure they wouldn't have to paralyse the club with "cautiousness". If they can't trust Shaw to make these types of decision why is he still in a job?
Roverall Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Well I for one will raise a tall glass of champagne the day these cretins leave, administration or not. The sooner the better. How nice it would be to go and watch a Venky-free Rovers again, regardless of what division...
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Gary had been hoping to tie up a couple of deals by now but at the moment he and the rest of the club are STILL waiting to hear back from the owners about whether they are allowed to sign players. It is frankly ridiculous that we seem to be back in a situation where the decision making in Pune takes an age, 18 months ago decisions were being quickly but looks like we are back to dithering in Pune. In our position where we are scrabbling around in the bargain basement/loan market we need to be able to make decisions quickly as otherwise we will lose out on players. When is the QPR FFP case being held ?
Kamy100 Posted July 15, 2015 Author Posted July 15, 2015 When is the QPR FFP case being held ? The verdict from the judicial review was due last month but due to complexity of the case and the possible ramifications it has been delayed indefinitely, so now it could be months. It is hard to second guess what Venky's will do. Maybe they are working on an exit strategy but it could also be just as likely that they aren't and will eventually get around to making decisions which will allow Gary to bring in new faces. They have previous form in this when they delayed making decisions and everyone thought that they were looking to sell but then they suddenly gave authorisation and we bought in likes of Evans, Cairney and Marshall.
Gav Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Surely Kamy no one can blame the venkymob for exercising caution after the goings on of the past 4 years. Can they? Give over Gordon, we're not dealing with top dollar 5yrs lucrative contracts here, we're dealing with bargain basement 1yrs deals worth under 10k a week. They’re absolutely bloody useless, and the sooner you and other posters stop making excuses for them the better.
Rover_Shaun Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Where the Punedogs are concerned there are no excuses......not ever! The club is a mess from the board to the grass

What in your opinion then is the answer? There is, I'm my opinion a certain inevitability about this situation and there will be no fairy tale ending.
roverandout Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 I hear they are waiting on whether ronaldinho and maradonna are going to accept their offer
tomphil Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Maybe they are trying to find their advisors after flying to Zurich only to find all desks clear
The Rover of Finland Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Freddy Adu was released last week by Finnish club Kups Kuopio. He wasn't even close to be good enough to play in Finland. That is sad. There is a marque signing for Rovers.
Backroom DE. Posted July 15, 2015 Backroom Posted July 15, 2015 If he can recapture his form from Champ Manager 03/04 he'd be a top signing for us.
ABBEY Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Bazza White venky gets his signing off this game Just seen freddy in Asda . . . Panic over it was a freddo
Amo Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 How on earth is Freddy Adu only 26? Feels like he's been around for donkey's years.

Let's hope they are planning an exit as the sooner they go the better as for signings being authorised like previously well Erm that's unlikely if there is a fee involved
Backroom DE. Posted July 15, 2015 Backroom Posted July 15, 2015 How on earth is Freddy Adu only 26? Feels like he's been around for donkey's years. Apparently he signed for the Tampa Bay Rowdies yesterday anyway, so opportunity missed
JHRover Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 I would be surprised if Gary Bowyer isn't considering his future at the moment. If it is correct that he has had signings ready to arrive but is being prevented from doing so due to Venkys ineptitude or refusal to allow it then he might as well resign. His job is hard enough having to cut costs, reduce the squad size and keep the club towards the top end of this division. Now seemingly having players sold behind his back and not being able to replace them even with cheap/free transfers whilst being under an embargo would make his job almost impossible. Again, if it is true that the manager cannot strengthen because of the owners behaviour then I think it answers the question of whether we could bring in a 'proven' manager who would put up with this shambles and manage to assemble a promotion winning squad. It simply wouldn't happen. We would be back to finding an unproven/lower league manager willing to take a risk and work under this joke setup. Most would have quit months ago. Bowyer is one of the few that bring some pride and sense to this club these days, and I for one am grateful for that.

There is another aspect to this - even in the bargain bucket these players will be on around £10k per week. We have 6 available slots in the squad - that is £60k a week they are saving while they contemplate what to do next.
The_Expert Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 In this case, no news is definitely not good news. It is very hard to form positive views on the coming season, when there is nothing coming from the club, from its local management or from its owners. Having said that, this is always a fallow time of year..
broadsword Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Not shocked Abbey or even surprised. Just very disappointed that these numpties continue to make things a hundred times harder for us due to their "decision making" or lack of in this case. Yet they have no problem giving Cairney the green light to go. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Never, he knows he's on a good number here, he won't get a job that pays as well again
JBiz Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Bowyer resign? Never, he knows he's on a good number here, he won't get a job that pays as well again I think you'd be suprised how much the last 3 years has enhanced his CV. Besides, how do you know his wage packet?
