Cairney - but at Craven Cottage in a white shirt. IF Cairney goes plus one or both of our strikers than it's downwards tp L1 imo

rubbish cairney has been poor all season, keep rhodes and a shrewd few loan players we will be were we were and were we are.

the relagated teams will go back up.

I never said Cairney was any use.

Yes, if Rhodes stays I have to say we will stay up - just - as he would be the only regular scorer. Unless GB plays long ball to Brown - extreme shudders - in which case look south.

The bit in italics I need translating ^_^

So you've got the same mad plan as Gary then, Chaddy. An untested 17 yr old as backup, with our best winger pulled back there, or a DM with awful positional sense. That Nyambe kid better be a good un or this will come to bite us in the arse.

We've been through this so many times, as football fans. What is the point in skills etc when they aren't producing performances and wins?

I want to watch an effective team of whom produce results and progress, not an ineffective team, that pass the ball backwards, have players with a forward pass rating of just 60% (Cairneys stat) and that run out of ideas to win a game 5 minutes into a game.

They do produce performances and wins if you build your team around them properly. They create openings for your quick goal scorers to run on to. Unfortunately Rovers have no quick strikers and it's looking like all we will have left is donkeys. Now you want the only guy with a bit of skill transferred. No wonder football is crap to watch these days. All people want is donkeys who "put in a shift". Sigh!

Not having adequate right back cover impacted on us almost straight away last season. A few games in at Wolves and it was midfielder at right back and apprentice right back at left back. Bowyer in fact seemed very reluctant to give Henley a regular slot there and only did so when all other options had dried up. Something I don't want to be paying to watch from the off this season but when we have a Mr Accommodator instead of a Mr Motivator I can only see it happening again. Henley must start there and stay there even if he has a ropey patch, he's proved he can do it and will only find consistency if he stays there.

Same reason players like Rochina are pejoratively dismissed as "Carlos Kickaballs".

Has rochina done anything since he went back to Spain..?

Tugay would have been good/great at any level of football. He would have p issed around Chumpionship players

I don't think so.

Cairney in my opinion slows us down, especially played centrally. It does not work in the championship imo. Tugay would have been no good in the championship for the same reason.

He's major culprit for this when on the wing and having to stop the ball every time then turn it on to his correct foot then look up before making the simplest of passes. Who's fault is that though ? Miles better in the middle football wise but just doesn't have the physical effort to make enough of an impact consistently, also head goes down far too easily. He needs a snarling yard dog in there with him covering his ass and keeping him on his toes verbally.

I respect your view although IMO you are wrong - the good thing for Tugay is that with Rovers he never had to experience Championship level.

I still stand by my view which is that his game, style and speed could have worked any where. He was just class and would have made mincemeat out of our current level of opponents.

To that extent I do agree with you, however we know it won't happen, so I just look at it as - what is the point?

When was the last time we saw a good game of football from the home side at Ewood Al?

sorry if this has been posted already- http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/13345370._/?ref=mac good intervie but im not sure about this-"That is what Johnson and his team of six scouts, who are predominately based across the UK, have been doing"- if we're lacking funds and relying on freebies & loans then surely there's a far bigger market to choose from abroad and we should have more scouts scouring Europe(and further a far)

Is Tommy and his six scouts connected or tied to a agency.

We need muscle and energy in the middle of the park just as much as we need creativity. Someone who can win a header or bring the ball down. Currently, we have very little to offer in midfield and simply set up with mundane, defensive, non-risk taking, "do-a-jobs".

Looking at players available on frees or loans and who I would say would be available for £10k per week wages and could do a job for Rovers are the following:

Goalkeepers - Mark Bunn

Defenders - Paul McShane, Andy Wilkinson, Luke Buxton & Chris Baird

Midfielders - Dean Hammond, Stephen Quinn, Alejandro Faurlin, John Eustace, Rodolph Austin & Karl Henry

Strikers - James Wilson (loan), Jonathan Walters, Nicky Maynard & Paul Gallagher

Now if Bowyer had anything about him, he could get 4 players from that lot that would improve our squad.

For example a team such as:

Eastwood

Wilkinson-----Duffy-------Killa----------Ollson

Marshall------Austin------Faurlin-------Conway

----------------Walters------Rhodes------------------

For me that's a really solid team. It adds some more much needed steele at the back, with a real battler in midfield in Austin, of who is a player who can also pass the ball forward. Faurlin is a classy little player enough said and would create. Walters would be an absolute perfect foil for Rhodes.

What are others reckoning? Not in terms of that team, but who would you look to sign?

I'm not sure Walters would settle for £10k p/w....

You're probably right mate, but I am sure I read somewhere his wages were around £15-20k per week. Now if we can add some performance related bonuses into there who knows, as FFP stipulates that and performance related bonus is not inlcuded into the £10k per week max. Long shot I know, but why not at least try, although I suppose this is Blackburn Rovers!

If Walters is a no then I know some people will laugh but I would suggest a player I haven't put on there, but who I think would be a good foil for Rhodes - Jon Stead

Karl Henry and Andy Wilkinson probably wouldn't either.....

Oh I think they definitely would, Henry won't be in great demand and is a championship player, therefore Prem teams won't want him, so it's either take £10k per week or don't get a club, same with Wilkinson.
