yoda's brother Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Well whys he having a trial here then??? We're in the same division. as doncaster !!!
neophox Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Time for Mrs.Desai and Venkys to make a statement about their future intentions of the Brfc.
JAL Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 I've no real complaints on Furman. Doncaster fans seemed to rate him and think the Championship is his level, and it is an area we are incredibly weak in. What did those same fans think of Chris Brown and if this player is so good how well did Doncaster do last season.
Baz Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 What did those same fans think of Chris Brown and if this player is so good how well did Doncaster do last season. And if he's so good surely championship clubs would sign him on a free, rather than trialling him?
Ricky Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Major brain freeze lol. I was mixing up Rotherham and Donny for some reason.
tomphil Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Ive thought for some time that Bowyer is desperate to get Lowe and Evans together in that midfield. Who ever we sign isn't breaking that combo up. At least it'll not be Willowe, we need to pray Evans doesn't get injured.
G Somerset Rover Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 At least it'll not be Willowe, we need to pray Evans doesn't get injured.Evans was the worst player in a Rovers shirt last season Tomphil! A rubber dinghy man if there ever was one.
Hasta Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 What did those same fans think of Chris Brown and if this player is so good how well did Doncaster do last season. If Rhodes and Gestede are so good how did Rovers do last year? Fair point in their opinion of Brown though.
tomphil Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Evans was the worst player in a Rovers shirt last season Tomphil! A rubber dinghy man if there ever was one. When I was on about doing smart trading a while ago to freshen the team up and bring a few quid in it was him and Hanley I had in mind, sadly it turned out to be Cairney. I'm of the opinion that part of the problem with our slow going nowhere style of play is part down to Evans. Having said that he can play a lot better and no way do I want to see Lowe and Williamson being paired regularly in there, that is the worst pairing we could have imo

Having said that he can play a lot better and no way do I want to see Lowe and Williamson being paired regularly in there, that is the worst pairing we could have imo None of them are ideal, the amount of times you see teams passing round Evans and watching him running around in circles is embarrassing. Very poor player.
JayPeeBee40 Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Don't dismiss Evans so easily, he had a poor season last time out but has shown us in the past he's better than that. New season, new start. That goes for everyone of our players Inc brown..

New season, new start. That goes for everyone of our players Inc brown.. New season, old season. It's only about eight weeks break. He's not grown an extra lung. If you want to see a marked improvement in existing players then change the manager. A managed improvement should still be expected however but don't bank on it. I'm fearful for our ponderous plodders this time round. I think a few good hidings are heading our way.

I'm fearful for our ponderous plodders this time round. I think a few good hidings are heading our way. At the end of Sean dyche's first half season in charge burnleh fans wanted him out and they went into the next season favourites for the drop having sold Austin without having a proven replacement. We all know what happened next.. Nobody has a crystal ball. Let's see how the new season pans out before commenting on it..
RevidgeBlue Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Personally I'd sell Rhodes and double Gestede's wages or whatever in order to keep him. He doesn't have Rhodes natural finishing skills but he's younger, can lead the line better, is massively better in the air and can hold the ball up. Also imo Gestede is appreciating in value whilst JR is depreciating. Without looking it up I'm fairly sure Rhodes is approximately one year younger than Gestede the latter being nearly 27. If one has to go I'd take exactly the opposite viewpoint, Gestede has one good full season ever to his name and on the evidence of an injury interrupted second half of last season could be the next Crocky Santa Cruz in the making.. I'd far rather keep them both at the potential expense of anyone else on the books though.
JayPeeBee40 Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Id love to keep gestede over Rhodes personally. Rudy my kind of footballer.
RevidgeBlue Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Id love to keep gestede over Rhodes personally. Rudy my kind of footballer. Again I take exactly the opposite viewpoint. imo Rhodes is loyal, gets his head down, never causes a moment's trouble and is a model pro. Will always give you a consistent return. We rescue Gestede off the scrapheap, he has one and a half good seasons and suddenly he thinks he is too good for the Club. He may have a slight point there but indications at the moment are no-one wants to pay what we want for him so he might yet have to swallow his pride, stick his dummy back in, and get on with it.
chaddyrovers Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Bowyer on transfer in the LT http://m.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/13424546.Gary_Bowyer__New_signings_must_want_to_play_for_Blackburn_Rovers_for_the__right_reasons_/
Mani Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Bowyer on transfer in the LT http://m.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/13424546.Gary_Bowyer__New_signings_must_want_to_play_for_Blackburn_Rovers_for_the__right_reasons_/ I just read that Chaddy....worrying that. It's imperative that they recruit well under the embargo or you are very likely to see us scrapping around at the bottom of the championship. They're obviously struggling like mad to attract players on reduced terms. It's a shame, because given a £500k - £750k a year transfer budget and competitive wages I don't think there are many managers in that league who could recruit any better. The quicker we're out of the embargo, the better!!
blueboy3333 Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Bowyer on transfer in the LT http://m.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/13424546.Gary_Bowyer__New_signings_must_want_to_play_for_Blackburn_Rovers_for_the__right_reasons_/ Well at least the 'bloated squad' jibes will stop now. Bowyer has done well to rebuild the squad from the ashes of the Kean/Anderson years in such a relatively short time period of time. It's a shame that the actions of those earlier years are stopping Bowyer building on his good work.
glen9mullan Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Bowyer on transfer in the LT http://m.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/13424546.Gary_Bowyer__New_signings_must_want_to_play_for_Blackburn_Rovers_for_the__right_reasons_/ Sounds like we have more sales to look forward to , As that's the first public words in which anyone has said , the owners wish the wage bill to continue to be trimmed . If we was not under embargo , IMO it would still be the above , which suggest the tap has been turned off . You can sense Bowyers frustration , in that article
ABBEY Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Id love to keep gestede over Rhodes personally. Rudy my kind of footballer.Your kind of player? Aye speaks volumes when he public ally wants to leave . Time for Mrs.Desai and Venkys to make a statement about their future intentions of the Brfc. They don't give a toss
G Somerset Rover Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 You ain't going to find a player who wants to play for us for the 'right reasons' unless it's a Gallagher or a Joe Garner. If it's a choice of £10k pw at us or £12k pw at another champ club then a player with no affiliation to the club is picking the latter every time.
davulsukur Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Worrying words that the owners want to trim the wage bill even further. Our squad is small and the quality is limited, shipping out what little quality we have left and replacing them with freebie journymen is only going to lead to league 1 football

They have never given 2 ****s since they bumbled into town!
