DavidMailsTightPerm
Bowyer not having met the Venkys this summer is a concern. Shocking finances and the threat of our best players leaving have been a worry every summer, but the Venkys opting out of meeting the manager is a new and worrying development. After years of insisting on face to face meetings - maybe they have discovered that thing called a telephone

Reedy You're A Star
Venkys could only afford one plane ticket and Bowyer had some drying paint he wanted to get personality tips from. So they sent the Finance Director instead.
chaddyrovers
Quite a lot of clubs doing early business , pretty sure Bowyer said he'd be doing the same as he had 2 list . One with embargo restrictions and the other without ? Well as we head into July , plenty gone but no signs of anything arriving . Lads back in for pre-season , season starts in just over a month and with the likelihood of more outgoings surely we ain't going to leave it until the last minute ? Bowyer thinks window should shut before season starts , but as a club we are silent from top to bottom Haven't we tried to sign/held talks with Rudy Austin, Stephen Quinn and Jamie O'Hara? have we had any players in on trial today with the players back today? tomphil
No sign of the manager on the official website pics from today, no sound yet either. Maybe in his office eh ? Also training inside, hard surfaces first day back, is that wise ?

McClarky
Total silence isn't usually the best way to market yourself to your potential customers. The levels of incompetence at this club increases as we go on, why don't they learn even the most basic of lessons?

Paul Wheelock and Andy Bayes both said that they will be having interviews with Bowyer on Friday also I believe today and possible tomorrow will be fitness tests and running. here is article about what to do on pre season week 1 written by Simon Bitcon who is fitness coach at Man City. http://performance.fourfourtwo.com/training-guides/pre-season-training-week-1 didn't Simon Bitcon used to work for Rovers? It's what they ask him that counts really. Neither of those two are very direct in their questioning. Tomphil, what type of questions would you like to ask and why? Tomphil, what type of questions would you like to ask and why? The usual stuff like have the owners set a target for the coming season and what are their thoughts on last season. Also will Gary be looking to put out a settled side this season and look to leave it to gel if it's doing ok. Does he now have his first choice defence in mind after having a good look at them all last season via the regular changes. Why's he not looking to have another different striking option on the bench. I could go but i'll be here all night
JayPeeBee40
I don't know what answers bowyer could give that'd make things any better really. It's obvious the club is @#/?.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted June 30, 2015 Moderation Lead Share Posted June 30, 2015 Actions speak louder than words, couldn't care less what Bowyer says in an interview. Besides, he'll get scrutinised regardless of what he says.
Stuart
Maybe he'll be honest with us. I'm really starting to think that we don't have any (incoming) transfer plans of any real substance and at best we will scrabble around - Blackpool style - before the season starts to cobble a team together. One thing I don't understand. The was a quote today from Bowyer that he expected/hoped that Chris Taylor would sign a contract but in the retained list on the Rovers site it didn't list him as having been offered a new contract and was instead 'free to talk to other clubs'. It just seems very amateurish. No wonder players want out or at least become unsettled if they are made to feel unwanted.

If he's not agreed terms, he's over 24, he can talk to clubs.

Stefan Hedgehog
It seems as though Josh Morris is very close to completing his move to Bradford City. Morris is an odd one because even though he is only 23 he seems to have been around the squad for ages. I'm also not clear as to whether or not he is out of contract this summer or whether Bradford are signing him from us. Surely he will be out of contract by now? Its another squad place freed up and potentially another hole that needs filling. Seems to be a decent player for League One but I don't think he is at Championship standard. I wonder whether the club will give him the same treatment as it did to Tom Cairney. Both have been absolute professionals in their time at the club. id have morris before williamson any day of the week
joey_big_nose
id have morris before williamson any day of the weekWhat a bizarre thing to say. Have you got Morris confused with someone else? Cairney?Any chance the Cairney transfer was rushed through to have an impact on the embargo?
