Our scouting team must be spread far and wide if we are linked with the two Davies's. I know times are hard but surely they can travel further than Bolton and Preston.

Can't pay loan fees or likely the full wages of many in that league bar kids- who will only be let go if first team games are likely.

Unfortunately PV- embargo means we are shopping in these kind of windows. Depressing.

Appointing the fourth consecutive inexperienced manager ensured that JB.

Kevin Davies ? For crying out loud no thanks. Some of you lot in your haste to nail your colours to the present regimes mast would back a 3 legged cow if you thought it was a vote for Gaz. Davies is finished at this level and would be no use whatsoever I don't care how much of a pro or nice guy he is. Would have been better keeping Dunny if that's the case.

I deffo wouldnt sign Kevin Davies.

If Gestede does leave I would be looking at PL loan striker someone like Callum Robinson from Villa or Apkom from Arsenal or Gallagher from Southampton.

Also Scouts have been scouting in Germany, Austria and Sweden in the past 6 months as Kamy as said before

Henning Berg doing great in his current job. That can happen when given more than 10 games..

Really? Doesn't sound very cost efficient & we all know Gary likes shopping closer to home.

Chris Brown and Kevin Davies. Sweet dreams everyone ;-)

I believe that it is case of Lenihan and O'Sullivan insisting on shorter deals because they don't want to be tied into longer deals if promises about exposure to the first team are not kept.

If its about playing time and not money I admire it. Putting their necks on the line. Wish we saw more of that sort of ballsy attitude.

If that's the case I guess if they play regularly we will offer them extended deals in Nov/Dec which they will sign as they've got the playing time.

So quite a rational strategy, as long as we understand correctly.

I wonder if part of the rational of letting Cairney go is that we feel Lenihan and O'Sullivan can take his role in the side?

Kevin Davies or Craig Davies???? http://footballleagueworld.co.uk/blackburn-rovers-lining-up-deal-to-sign-former-bolton-wanderers-striker/has somebody got the wrong end of the stick with Kevin

I also suspect someone has got the wrong Davies. I think it will be Craig we are after.

If kevin comes it stinks as much as the Fowler debacle.

Well if that is true then Rovers seriously need to review their scouting system. It appears from this that we have a team of scouts on the gravy train.

Gravy train?

Looks like Chris Taylor will be re-signing for Rovers

As the LET story confirms Rovers can't even sign freebies as they won't settle for 10K per week. The only ones who would still sign must be shocking. Can't see any other way than PL loanees.

To be fair that's only in relation to Austin who is in demand.

To put in perspective I guess Cairney, Marshall and Gestede were on 10k or less when they signed as they were not established prem players and had no other clubs chasing them. We need those sorts of signings.

Basically we need to find players no other clubs don't want who are actually good. Pretty tricky.

Or let's say taking advice from an Evertonian football agent the one with alot of youngsters on his books
