We have a Chief Scout in Tommy Johnson.

He did an interview last week with LT.

From that said interview- "That is what Johnson and his team of six scouts, who are predominately based across the UK, have been doing"

so I wouldn't get my hopes up of us uncovering the next german superstar or signing any players at all from abroad by the looks.

actually quite a decent interview by the LTs standard by the way- http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/13345370.Tommy_Johnson__Embargo_makes_life_tough_for_Blackburn_Rovers_but_we_have_to_get_on_with_it/

Begs the question, do we have ANY interest in signing ANYBODY. Starting to think we do not.

Don't know and I really dont care tbh.

Maybe we all should care.

It's a good question as at this moment in time the club has done anything to get the supporters talking positively about the coming season. Signing fringe players isn't going to create a rush for the ticket office.

I'm very confident that Bowyer is in control of transfers.

Season renewed already and planning on doing 2 away games within the 1st 2 months of the season. Plus some Friendlies games aswell. Looking forward to the season.

Chaddy if you read closely Jal is basically giving you a certain scenario on a plate.. A certain agent has a lot of the young lads on his books and has had for quite some time

You seem to see everything through rose tinted glasses

FYI imo still with the squad with a better management team we would be challenging even if we lose Gestede but under GB no chance

With the keep your own seat and premier pledge rapidly approaching, I said to my husband as I was leaving the house this morning that he needed to have a good think about whether we were going to change our mind and renew. We like where we sit and have got to know our "neighbours", so if were going to renew at all it would make sense to do so before the deadline. I left it with him and went towards the door, saying he could text me at work or tell me when I came home. Before I got as far as the door, he said "I've thought and were not renewing." Shows the club has done zero to persuade fans who might be wavering that renewal would be a good idea

Are bowyer and shaw down the road yet or are we having another season in limbos department or mediocrity and flannel.

Mediocrity to be replaced with inferiority.

You need to put his balls back in your handbag and tell him you are renewing.

Actually I told him I didn't want to but we'd go with his decision. Not because I had to but because if he'd really wanted to go I was prepared to go along with his wishes. It's compromise like that that means we've been together 42 years and still enjoy each other's company as much as we always have. That's why I gave him time to think. Point is, he didn't need it. He wanted to renew even less than I do.

We are missing loads of matches anyway. Were not here in august or most of September, for part of November. We won't be here many weekends in December. After that who knows? We might want to be there; we might not. We may decide to go somewhere warm in jan or February. I think well just choose our matches this season as and when we feel like it. The odd away weekend perhaps. Who knows? It's going to be the first time in almost 40 years where I haven't had anything I have to do, no kids needing looking after, nowhere I have to be, and I'm looking forward to it. Not feeling obliged to go to rovers games if I don't want to, just because they are paid for already, will be another freedom. If I want to go, I'll go. If not then I won't feel I ought to be there.

I reckon there'll be another outgoing late in the window for money as well as a few loans out and possibly 2 loan signings in at most and that'll be it. They are all keeping their heads down and keeping schtum for a reason and if you stand back and look at the bits that have been written, probably prompted a bit from the club off the record then we've been primed for it.

It's like waiting for an enemy attack, you don't know how or when it'll come but you know it WILL come !

Glad there was that link in the LT saying we were interested in Nicky Maynard and not interested in Kevin Davies.

Maynard a proven goalscorer at this level, and Davies is finished!

I think you're probably right tomphil.

Worst case scenario is both Rhodes and Gestede leave in this window, that's a real possibility I feel, time will tell.

The owners/directors couldn't care less about the impact on ticket sales, the Cairney sale and deafening silence proves that. They probably assume the vast majority of season ticket sales will happen regardless and I'd say they're probably right on that one.

I've never heard of Wagner but a quick look at his CV suggests he is the sort of player we should be looking at were Gestede to leave.

Someone who still has time left (27) to improve and do a job for us for a few years.

We should be looking at players who have maybe lost their way at little bit but undoubtedly have something about them. Having played for Bayern Munich and Werder Bremen there is clearly something there to be brought out.

If he is under contract for another year then why not offer Berlin a deal where we pay £10k a week for the next 12 months then sign him permanently after that?

the Brazilian guy - (from the X factor............probably)
