That's a bit of an odd comparison seeing as this is the Championship and lots of bang average squads are made up of young players coming through, it's the way of the world in this league. Also factor in the way things are at Rovers and what we are constantly told, deveoplment, squad value. Anyway they'd still of had Ludo !

Poor form editing your post to drop in the goalkeeper bit after my reply lol

Sorry didn't see your reply. Just thought Miklosko's performance might have emphasised my point.

Anyway if Reading or Millwall had played weakened teams it's odds on Derby would have made the play offs instead of Ipswich and that might have been an altogether different ball game. 100,000,000 pounds at stake and playing Ipswich we were directly involved.

Didn't I say I rated him in a 4-4-2? He's clinical but what we used to call a 'tart liner'. His talent is at odds to the rest of the squad who are simply not suited to 4-4-2. If you need evidence then just look at the way we played when he was left out for the Cup games! Nuff said and actions speak louder than words. JR is the icing on the cake when the rest of the squad is good enough to accommodate him and play to his talents. Ours isn't.

If you had the best left foot in the business, would you focus on developing your right foot abilities until you had two average feet?

Because that's what Bowyer has done during his time here.

He was not the icing on the cake, he was and remains a goal machine that you feed by building a team around him. Even Shaun frigging Goater managed to get promoted out of this league. The difference was - as always - the manager. Just imagine Kevin Keegan in his pomp with last season's Rovers squad!

Best drop him then so the team has no goal threat what so ever then

That tart liner is just about our only hope

I agree, God help us. It is no hope or Bob Hope now.

We should have taken Hull's money last season, replaced him then and gone 4-5-1 with Gestede, King and a n other sharing the striking duties to suit the opposition. However the lady was not for turning.

JW..... 'We aren't a selling club, we are a trading club'.

Pity that message went out of the door with him when Mrs Desai decided that his time had come. Lest we forget.....http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/8835527.Mrs_Desai__Why_John_Williams_left_Blackburn_Rovers/

"I think that after Sam left, John lost a lot of interest in the club. "After that happened I think he knew that he wanted to move on. "I know that he did not get along with Steve (Kean) and he had struggled to accept Jerome (Anderson)'s role at the club."

Just how gullible can you be and how much of a slimy spivvy conman was Jerome @#/? Anderson and his puppet. He played em like naive jungle tribesmen and they let him. How much has it cost them in money and us in emotion and how much must they regret pushing out Allardyce and Williams? I know the entire support base must regret it but penny for the thoughts now of approx 25% of the noisiest numpties in the cheap seats :wstu: who had already written off Allardyce, Williams and the Trust and actually welcomed her actions at the time. You all know who you are. :glare:

I'm surprised you could hear anything from the cheap seats from the putting green.

I bet you'd 'Luv it. Just luv it' if Keegan trapped up and ousted GB eh?

But would that be the same Keegan who is famous for swapping Andy Cole for Gillespie and beseeching whe geordie faithful to 'Trust me'? Is that the Keegan with the dodgy brittle smacked arse temperament? The Keegan who can't manage without blowing massive money at every club he goes to? If it is then that Keegan is yesterdays man and pretty damned useless with FFP in place wouldn't you say?

Patient sigh. Never mins cheap seats, thats a cheap shot. History lesson time Abbey. Pin your ears back buddy..............

1. I wanted Big Sam when Hughes left and was absolutely aghast when Williams announced the appointment of Paul Ince. (btw has he got his badges yet or was I right?). I definitely didn't start and definitely didn't sign a terminally stupid Facebook campaign which you were culpably guilty of. If we hadn't got shot of Ince and replaced him with Allardyce I'm almost certain that we'd have been relegated. Do you still disagree?

2. I was a ST holder throughout all that desperately damaging shambles of venkys take over and subsequent events. I was on here with my strong and instant opposition and objections to the venkys actions from the off and definitely when they sacked Allardyce! Were you?

4. I refused to renew for the 2011/12 season after seeing the writing on the wall. And could NOT see my money disappear overseas in what to me was an obvious opportunist swindle by manager and agent. You didn't mind I take it?

5. I have never ever played golf on a Saturday. Sorry Abbey but it might have raised a titter once but this golf thing is bloody tedious now. Do I constantly attempt to take the p!ss for your love of the American version of schoolgirl rounders? How about for your definitely dodgy past desires to grapple the smelly bits of sweaty grunting men in leotards? If we are talking of dodgy pastimes you need to look in a mirror first perhaps?

Abbey I was speaking generally and not pointing my finger at you in particular BUT as you have responded is it so difficult to just admit that you backed the wrong bloody horse on any number of occasions back in 2010/11? You should really give credit for all my perception on all those matters rather than joining a couple of others on here with monotonous attempts to continually ridicule my actions. Think on, foresight is ALWAYS better than hindsight.

Yes but we aren't really on about a specific one off game as the calls for blooding of some youth came several games before the end of the season. Had we done so like maybe some other clubs do then going into the Ipswich match non of their rivals could have called foul. Same for any other club and in our case injuries were calling the shots.

Subtlety really isn't your strong point, Gordon. You have a penchant for the literal. Do you also need me to explain 'pomp'?

I guess if you ignore such comments you can carry on decrying Rhodes as villain and Bowyer as beleaguered hero, despite the obvious contradiction.

I DIDNT START ANY CAMPAiGNS... Yes I wanted him out but not replacing by inexperienced .

NOTHING wrong with past . I was a national champion and represented my country in it as well . Rounders ? If you do mock make sure you get the right American sport ;)

All those events occurred in his 'pomp'.

No smiley with the jest Abbey.

Beat me? How do you figure that? I'm still there.... they are gone. I'm going next season and you have intimated that you are packing up.

btw penultimate sentence.... as predicted one of the goons has just happened by. 'Liked' then 'unliked' presumably when he thought better of it. <_<

Nixon tweeting that giles coke ex sheff wed and bolton and dean furman ex donny and oldham are the two trialists.

Remember when we trialled players from overseas and turned up Samba, Nelson & Olsson?

Seems a better bet than trialling lower league players who haven't made it.

Maybe our head of recruitment, and manager don't have the same level of contacts?

Buy League One players and get...

Oh wait, we've already got a League One manager, League One chairman and League None owners.

That's what the set up is becoming on all levels. The only thing propping it up is the quality in the squad, one in particular but a couple of others that bowyer has brought in. Now he won't even be able to bring in similar to them. Pray we keep the others.

This a transfer thread. There's a specific thread for you to whine about the manager on.

With 3 promising youngsters extending their deals, getting another couple of big wages off the books it has not been the worst window so far.

Shame about cairney and king, but a bit of money in for players who hadn't really got a nailed down first team place (wrongly or rightly)

When I think of the wages we have shipped out in the last couple of years it is scary. Just Best to go - glad we are in his last year.

I hope whatever loanees or freebies we get don't block team places for the likes of lenihan. Need to start living off our academy.

We can't buy anyone! ;)

Seriously though I was annoyed we were after kevin davies last week, but it turns out we weren't. Best see what happens.

I just hope we don't sign players who add nothing just so people make money on the transfer - as has been suggested still happens at ewood. You would think the leeches had had enough from our crippled club.

You might as well dream on here as in bed marton. :rover: Don't you rem the example of Daedelus and Icarus?

What a fascinating story but doesn't change my opinion that if the club continues to have an attitude of 'Well what chance have we got so let's settle for mediocrity', the downward spiral will continue.

If Bournemouth can win the division & Brentford get in the play offs then we still have a chance, (with the right management and mentality).
