thenodrog Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 What a fascinating story but doesn't change my opinion that if the club continues to have an attitude of 'Well what chance have we got so let's settle for mediocrity', the downward spiral will continue. If Bournemouth can win the division & Brentford get in the play offs then we still have a chance, (with the right management and mentality). I believe that it's more likely that the right manager and right mentallity mighyt just be enough to keep us up.

chaddyrovers Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 With 3 promising youngsters extending their deals, getting another couple of big wages off the books it has not been the worst window so far. Shame about cairney and king, but a bit of money in for players who hadn't really got a nailed down first team place (wrongly or rightly) When I think of the wages we have shipped out in the last couple of years it is scary. Just Best to go - glad we are in his last year. I hope whatever loanees or freebies we get don't block team places for the likes of lenihan. Need to start living off our academy. hopefully Best goes shortly I would hope we bring in someone like Danny Guthrie or Harrison Reed(on loan from Southampton) to replace Cairney. Guthrie is available on a free
AJW Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Nixon tweeting that giles coke ex sheff wed and bolton and dean furman ex donny and oldham are the two trialists. who ?
RevidgeBlue Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Nixon tweeting that giles coke ex sheff wed and bolton and dean furman ex donny and oldham are the two trialists. Don't know anything whatsoever about these two but I'm guessing they're fairly desperate. Like someone else said I'd have thought we could do a lot better than that for 10k p.w. If not I'd rather not see us sell or sign anyone else and promote the youngsters assuming we'll be out of embargo in 12 months time.
Butty Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Leicester had a bid of 12 million rejected by QPR for Austin yesterday, if they don't get him I wonder if they'll come sniffing for rhodes? I hope not but they clearly have the funds to get him and from what I saw of them last year they are a team who create a hell of a lot of chances and I'd much rather have Rhodes on the end of them than Nugent who couldn't hit a barn door last season the amount of chances he had! I guess it depends who they get in as manager.
Bucksrover Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 hopefully Best goes shortly I would hope we bring in someone like Danny Guthrie or Harrison Reed(on loan from Southampton) to replace Cairney. Guthrie is available on a free Always liked Guthrie - but I think he will be able to get more than 10k a week.

LDRover Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Knockaert signed for Standard Liège last month There's more chance of us signing someone from Standish Liege.
chaddyrovers Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Rovers linked with Former Sheff Wed Winger Chris Maguire. If we do sign him then he would be good signing
Baz Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Rovers linked with Former Sheff Wed Winger Chris Maguire. If we do sign him then he would be good signing Who? And why would he be a good signing? What are the skills that would make him dispensible for Sheff W, but a good signing for Rovers?
jodrell Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Rovers linked with Former Sheff Wed Winger Chris Maguire. If we do sign him then he would be good signing Is he any relation to Jerry?
AdamRochina Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Furman if he is on trail is pretty handy , grafter and can't be worse then evans or Williamson , never seen coke play And linked to maguire? He is pretty good for this level but with Taylor signing another contract then why? Unless one of Conway or Marshall are off
blueboy3333 Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Rovers linked with Former Sheff Wed Winger Chris Maguire. If we do sign him then he would be good signing he was strongly linked with bolton a few weeks ago. Think he can play up front as well.
Jock Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Rovers linked with Former Sheff Wed Winger Chris Maguire. If we do sign him then he would be good signing Wednesday fans would say he's ' reyt 5hit '
47er Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Buy League One players and get... Oh wait, we've already got a League One manager, League One chairman and League None owners. And crowds, or, if not, we certainly will have.
Backroom Mike E Posted July 4, 2015 Backroom Posted July 4, 2015 Wednesday fans would say he's ' reyt 5hit ' Hertha Berlin reserves reckoned that about Samba. Gestede was a bencher. Barry Ferguson took Tugay's place in the Rangers team ffs! Who knows? Some players really click with a certain club.
AdamRochina Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Chaddy where did the link come from? Twitter or kamy?
Jock Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 We'll soon be singing- ' if your going to Oldham? clap your hands ' Only problem is that when we used to sing that we were in the second flight of English football. Bring on the Fleetwood. Hertha Berlin reserves reckoned that about Samba.Gestede was a bencher.Barry Ferguson took Tugay's place in the Rangers team ffs!Who knows? Some players really click with a certain club. I hope so. Some players do click. Down to the player tho.

Some players really click with a certain club. Maybe, but you have more faith in GB & staff than me to find them, yet alone convince them to sign for us . 1 in 25+ is pretty low odds.
T J Hooker Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Furman if he is on trail is pretty handy , grafter and can't be worse then evans or Williamson , never seen coke play And linked to maguire? He is pretty good for this level but with Taylor signing another contract then why? Unless one of Conway or Marshall are off I really thought Evans was going to be the box to box midfield leader we've been missing for years when he first signed, but since he came back from his serious injury he's been a reight useless plodder, if he could step up his game and get back to his best he would be like a new signing, but the likelihood of any of our players consistently playing at their best under this manager and coaching team is pretty much nill.
G Somerset Rover Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Rovers linked with Former Sheff Wed Winger Chris Maguire. If we do sign him then he would be good signing What makes you say this chaddy? What attributes make him a Rovers signing?
T J Hooker Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 ive just read that Chris Kirkland has also left shef weds and is looking for a new club, id take him over all our keepers any day of the week, but hey this is venky/bowyers, rovers players are only signed for their potential resale value not because of the experience and ability they have to do a good job for our team in the present Maguire does seem like a decent versatile championship player though
roverandout Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Chaddy would think George wear's cousin would be a good signing
chris_h Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Chaddy would think George wear's cousin would be a good signing Your contributions versus Chaddy's..........hmmmmmmm. Nah, it's a no brainer. Which is actually quite apt.
AdamRochina Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 More I read up on Dean furman the more I like, captain of south Africa , tidy ball playing midfielder who can put a tackle in, snubbed another contract at doncaster
