Maybe, but you have more faith in GB & staff than me to find them, yet alone convince them to sign for us . 1 in 25+ is pretty low odds.

1 in 25 could soon become 5 in 25 that would be a fifth off gbs signings not too bad, sell on for more than bought

gestede

cairney

marshall

conway

steele

eastwood

duffy

spurr

mahoney

ps chaddy would be happy with anyone rovers bought, some fans are like that.I remenber listening to radio lancs one day, well a friday and it was announced that we had signed Nathan Blake i opened the back door and shouted in despairation next door but one came out laughing,he said i feel for you mate, thing is he was a dingle.

Furman on trial links up nicely with Kamy reporting two players coming in for trial, and that we have been actively linked to central midfielders like Austin recently. Sounds like a go-er. Can someone confirm?

That he is South African captain and seems to have captained most of his clubs sounds good. We desperately desperately need leaders. Our three best sides of the last twenty years had at least four players of captain material in them -

Dalgleish 1995 (6 - Shearer, Sherwood, Hendry, Berg, Flowers, Batty),

Souness 2001 (4- Flitcoft, Short, Friedel, Hughes)

Hughes 2006 (9- Nelsen, Samba, Friedel, Todd, Neill, Savage, Tugay, Mokoena, Bellamy)

Bowyer's team I would say has big fat zero. Closest is Killa but he would never get near the armband in any of our teams prior to Kean turning up. Its a total travesty. Hanley as captain is a joke.

Hughes particularly emphasised a back bone of strong characters, he is brilliant at it because he knows he can handle them. If Bowyer learns one thing in his management career I think this should be it. His teams are pretty well setup, he can find talent also, but hugely suffer because I think he is too used to kids and not leaders who will challenge him. He needs to be strong enough to manage that. Hopefully, as he grows in confidence, he will be able to bring in some leaders. I am sad to say I doubt it though. Its not really a learned quality that kind of authority imo, more a personality trait. He has never signed a big authoritative player in his 25+ incomings so far. It will be a big change.

Also, back to Furman, that he has not pulled up trees in League One and never played at Championship level doesn't look good. He's also hardly a young player.

Hmm. If he's not better than Evans, Lowe or Williamson we should not sign him. What would be the point? We have three players there limited in different ways but can (sort) of do a job. Plus Lenihan. Why add another?

Rovers linked with Former Sheff Wed Winger Chris Maguire.

If we do sign him then he would be good signing

No matter WHO we sign would be be good according to your barm pot everything's Rosie view . You would put a positive spin on it if we signed Fred west

Would Maguire mean Marshall going opposite direction? Wasn't he once linked to Weds?

That was my initial thoughts. We would have Conway Marshall Taylor maguire and osullivan all wide players which seem excessive. I think Marshall will be sold later on in the window

Went to afew sheff wed games last season my work get free tickets and from what I watched maguire is very much like Conway , hardworking, good crosser and an eye for goal. Not the quickest but a decent all round player.

The expected arrival of maguire who will provide cover out wide, in the hole and up front is yet another example of Gaz's ability in the market...I have been his biggest critic in many ways but I honestly don't think there's another manager in that division who's bought as well as him in terms of values bought and sold...Lennon just signed Madine from Sheff Wed and watched Maguire walk past him!! Now that is scandalous!

Do you expect him to sign?

I'm sure he'd help us dig out results...

Looking at Maguire, only seems to have really kicked on at this level in the past couple of seasons. Seems like the best option so far from the barrel we're scraping in.

Fred West's corpse would still score more than Brownie.

It's great how we sign wingers/in the hole players yet we never play a system for somebody in the hole even when he's @#/? about dropping Rudy or Rhodes. We also usually play the wingers on the wrong sides. Is there ever any team strategy to his signings or do we just get what we can ?

Marshall may be sold, O'Sullivan may not be good enough which leaves us with Conway as our only true winger. It makes sense to plan ahead. Maguire on a free could be a very astute piece of business. Not convinced he'll come mind if Leeds are interested, they've just spent £3m on Chris Wood so i'd imagine they'll be able to pay a lot more than £10k a week in wages.

So it could be paving the way for Marshall to be sold ? I suppose another winger the equivalent to Conway wouldn't be so bad although I don't want to lose Marshall. I wonder if Maguire can play right back  ?

No, Maguire is on a free, so Marshall wouldn't be going the other way at this stage. I think Marshall could leave tho.

same old negative stuff Abbey.

when did I ever say everything is Rosie? the truth is I HAVENT!!! I have given my Honestly opinions on Rovers. Simple as

I think Marshall will be sold later on in the window

I agree with that tbh

I agree with Gary's ability in the Transfer market is good IMO. I guess a lot of work must go to the Rovers scouts and Chief Scout Tommy Johnson for bringing in Players on low wages and cost like Cairney, Gestede, Conway.

Bolton have signed Madine and he looking like their main striker for the season at the minute

it seems anybody and everybody is up for sale if you listen to those who claim to be ITK. If someone bids £4m or £5m (or whatever price Venky's put on him) and Marshall has a chance to increase his wages then he'll be off, especially if it's to one of the Prem teams he's been linked with in the past. If Rudy goes as well then there's a good chance 4-5-1 will be used a lot more next season as it was a few times last season. In that case we're going to need a lot more than Conway,C Taylor and O'Sullivan to fill the three places behind the striker (2wingers and a number 10). Even if Marshall stays competition for places/injury cover is vital, we've already lost Cairney, Varney, P Taylor and Dunn from last season, all of whom played, if not often or very well.

What has given people the impression Marshall is leaving? Have I missed something?

I haven't read anything or heard that he is after a move away... Nor do I see why he should.

Nobody thought Cairney was leaving...and there's been a lot more speculation about Marshall leaving in the last 12 months than there ever was about Cairney.

Couldn't you have applied the same thinking to TC a week or two ago ? Anything can happen.
