Ye but to simple assume players are leaving based on the fact someone left unexpectedly is silly.

And yes I understand he COULD leave but that doesn't mean he WILL leave.

I really hope we keep Marshall and would be gutted to lose him... I was not as bothered about Cairney as some on here but I would have preferred to have kept him.

Couldn't you have applied the same thinking to TC a week or two ago ? Anything can happen.

By that logic you could apply it to everyone at the club...

In fact every one at every club.

No, Maguire is on a free, so Marshall wouldn't be going the other way at this stage. I think Marshall could leave tho.

same old negative stuff Abbey.

when did I ever say everything is Rosie? the truth is I HAVENT!!! I have given my Honestly opinions on Rovers. Simple as

I agree with that tbh

I agree with Gary's ability in the Transfer market is good IMO. I guess a lot of work must go to the Rovers scouts and Chief Scout Tommy Johnson for bringing in Players on low wages and cost like Cairney, Gestede, Conway.

Bolton have signed Madine and he looking like their main striker for the season at the minute

There's a difference between negative and reality !

What has given people the impression Marshall is leaving? Have I missed something?

I haven't read anything or heard that he is after a move away... Nor do I see why he should.

A lot of sports journalists in the Sheffield area have reported that Sheffie we'd have made enquiries ( not bids ) for Ben Marshall. He's a big fans favourite there as impressed on a loan spell there years ago before joining Leicester. Sheff wed have lots of money to spend this summer with there new owner. I personally think Marshall will end up there before the close of this window but hope I'm wrong

Last January Marshall and Rudy were heavily linked with Prem clubs, there is obviously interest in both of them. 'Assuming' our more saleable assets will be sold when we need to sell to exit the embargo is 'hardly' silly.

Its only sensible if we replace with better or the same quality. IF not it would be better to remain under the embargo and keep/develop the raw talent we have. The squad was relatively young and unexperienced. Are we going to have a better squad this season. NO!!!!!!!

I'll be royally f offed if Marshall goes. Him and Cairney were the only good technical players we had last season.

Even if we sign another winger we should keep Marshall unless we find two players who are better.

If Chadders reckons hes going I'm worried.

Who cares? Whilst Cairney and Marshall do possess talent they only played one game in any three. A whole lot easier to replace than the likes of Shearer, Sherwood, Duff, Tugay etc etc.

I'd be less bothered if we had another player in the side who can dribble and pass. We don't.

Sorry I didn't mean to offend...

My problem is that I am always looking for positives and I get frustrated with what I perceive to be negativity surrounding the club or players.

So to accept that we have to lose players for whatever reason bothers me.

I understand our dilemma at the club but I don't see any point in selling players if can keep them. Rudy may have to go and I have come to terms with that... But I haven't had time to process any other potential sales... Haha

No Abbey is right. You would put a positive spin on relegation.

I think it is telling that J Rhodes isn't linked with any of the lesser fancied Premier League clubs and even more so in that Rudy G is only linked with Watford and Norwich, both of whom have splashed out cash in the close season. That says to me that NEITHER are as coveted by clubs as much as we are led to believe they are.

If you look at the likes of Palace, WBA, Newcastle etc they are all going for more skilful, faster and renowned strikers from abroad. Even the likes of Austin at QPR are not being targeted by them so for me it says that they don't really fancy a punt on JR and more importantly Gestede. Both are inexperienced at the level they want to play at.

Neither of them will command a first team spot, neither of them have he electrifying pace or skill to make them stand out in the Premier League and neither are linked day in day out with huge money moves.

I don't see any Championship club having the funds to buy them at the prices being asked and in any case does any other club offer a better chance of promotion? Apart from Derby the answer is no and they have spunked a whole load of cash out with Ince the latest to arrive.

As for Marshall, I believe he will be the next one out especially if we are looking at a freebie winger. It makes sense.

By the way, Rovers are a selling club as they have always been. We buy reasonably cheap and sell at the high prices, Its good business sense not matter what league you are in. Look at Southampton, look at burnley over recent times, they survived selling their best and improved. Its the model we will have to get used to so a lot of you need to get over it.

I still believe we have the players to get us out of this league albeit, I don't have the ultimate faith in GB, he needs a solid manager alongside him and he needs to get it right from the kick off.

The whole business of BRFC has changed and continues to do so. FFP embargo or not, it is still the way the club will be run in the future.

And like it or not, without Venkys the club is well and truly stuffed so lets pull together. It is 6 days to the first warm up game. Time is now for us to gel as one and get behind the team.

I saw Marshall, Cairney and Conway play last season when they were said to be struggling for form after impressive starts. Out of the three I was most impressed with Conway who looked to make an impression despite being short of form (scored a beauty against Rotherham too). The other two looked a bit mopey. If we end up keeping Conway and losing Cairney and Marshall for good money I don't see that as being disasterous.

Kamy said it, Mercerman jumped on it, then Kamy told everyone to be calm....

Losing any more players (except Brown and a goalkeeper) whilst we are under embargo is a disaster.

Maybe they only show up 'one in three' because of the manager? Ever thunk of that?

Ever thunk that maybe Marshall is just inconsistent, as opposed to the likes of Killa,Olsson and Rudy who have been very consistent under the same manager. Blaming everything on the manager is obviously very good fun though and not at all simplistic.

I'm struggling to see why the possible signing of Maguire has any relevance to Ben Marshall's position at the club. Maguire is more likely to be a replacement for King.

I would be reasonably pleased if we were to get Maguire. He seems to have a decent record at Sheffield and their supporters are by and large disappointed he is leaving them. He's also a good age with a few years left in the tank.

Selling Cairney to Fulham was a ridiculous thing to do given our current predicament. I think that the manager has done his best to voice his anger at the transfer.

Sell any more of our better players to league rivals and we might as well give up. Premier league or they stay.

so you want to keep unhappy players who have been offered better deals elsewhere, like Cairney, or let the raw talent we have run down their contracts, let them leave on a free, and then still not exit the embargo cos our losses are too big because we didn't sell players when we could? I'm not suggesting a firesale but good offers for the odd player can't be ignored, just like it can't be ignored by other Championship clubs.
