[Archived] Transfer Talk Part 2

Its sickening really if you stop to think about it, we're discussing the merits of possibly taking Doncaster Rovers best 2 players on, and we have 2 players on trial that have been released by Sheffield Wednesday.....

How can anyone think that progress can be made under these idiots in Pune. If we went into administration tomorrow we could be in the same market for the same players.

Wake up people.

Except we'd have a 10 point deduction, of course..

Just a point of interest, does Chris Taylor count as a new signing, and therefore, is he subject to the £10,000 a week wage..?

My view is it's about bowyer putting together a footballing machine that functions well together and gets results. Too much emphasis on wanting individual talents(like cairney for example), when what's really needed is for the team to be the star..

I'd glady take a 10 point deduction to get rid of the crooks that have destroyed the club, wouldn't you?

I personally back venkys. They made some horrendous errors but I genuinely believe they have good intentions. Nobody can seriously believe they have wanted what has happened to happen. Without them I fear rovers would become a very small fry of a club..

Appointed Gary bowyer and given him time to build a team..

So appointed a coach into a manager’s role and gave him time?

They've destroyed this club, destroyed peoples lives and businesses and are as thick as 2 short planks.

I just hope they eventually see the inside of a prison cell along with the bold headed rat and his scumbag cockney mate.

Bitter? Not me :angry2:

You clearly have no idea whats gone on jaypeebee, so i'll log out before my blood pressure goes through the roof :tu:

I don't consider finishing 9th in the championship last season a total disaster for a club like ours as long as we can keep building on it moving forward..

Things could be much much worse..

Whoah, hope you've got a good supply of tin hats...

Apart from getting relegated from the Championship (which could happen this season) very little could be worse.

We are in debt to a degree which threatens the existence of the club should Venkys stop funding us, our owners have little contact with the club and seemingly no plan, we are under embargo, we are selling our best players and unable to replace, we have no natural leaders from the players to the board, we lack promotion quality in every position on the pitch bar the strikers (who look like they will be sold), and other clubs in the Championship are spending heavily.

From a rational point of view getting promotion will be near impossible and we continue to lose money at a rate of over a million a month.

What would be enough for you to say the situation is unacceptable? Relegation to League One? The club ceasing to exist should Venkys pull out (and with the Cairney situation they seem to have changed tack)? Both are increasingly on the table.

Don't kid yourself. The situation is very very serious and deteriorating. And I'm one of the positive posters on here...

It amazes me that there are still people about who are so completely ignorant. (Ruling out being a club plant).

Even their greatest supporters on here admit that we are stuck with them through necessity at time moment. The only point in them is that they are covering our deficit and, apparently servicing the club's debt.

I'm with Gav though. Even without Venkys these are the kinds of players we are in the market for. The only hope now is that they cut our cloth, cancel any debt and walk away.

Anyone who credits them with bringing in Bowyer is ignoring the fact that they ended up with him by default. Or is a WUM. Any thanks, if due, would be to Mark Hughes and John Williams.

Venkys made some horrific mistakes in the beginning but I do feel they don't want to destroy the club... They just took some bad advice and now do not have the ability to rectify this...

It's the Anderson debacle that has hurt this club (in my eyes) and the situation we are in is his fault.

Anderson talked up Kean and got players in with a slice of the pie going to himself and his cronies and Kean et al accommodated that.

Well, if they don't have the ability to rectify it then perhaps hiring competent people to try and rectify it might be considered a good move wouldn't it?

Why people keep making excuses for that lot I do not know.

People make out like they are scared children, stung by big bad agents, they aren't the first and the facts are they are hardened business people, or at least supposed to be. A proper businessman would make decisions and try to turn this @#/? around. Venkys continue to act like rabbits in the headlights even after five years of this crap, they are a disgrace.

Burnt at the start or not, they are guilty as hell of letting this debacle continue to unfold.

This post really is Messageboard Gold!!

Nzonzi, Jones, Samba, Nelsen, Emerton, Olsson and many more yet they've "kept hold of our playing assets" !!!

Be careful Dingle, your cover is slipping....

Poor stuff that. NZonzi and Samba were a couple of pains in the @rse who wanted away, Emerton went home to Australia, Olsson left for the Premiership after relegation, Nelsen wasn't the first player to leave for Spurs and Jones went to Manyoo. You might not agree with the lad's point but the 'Dingle' stuff is unnecessary, unhelpful and hints at a paucity in your arguments.

Sorry Chris, if Venky's had wanted to have kept hold of these vital playing assets they'd have sold them a vision of a club going places and fought tooth and nail to keep them rather than just selling them.

Saying I've got a paucity in my argument when the only alternative given is that GB has been appointed and given time and that they have kept hold of players is pretty bloody ironic don't you think and, to be honest, would be something that would be more suited to a Dingle rather than a Rovers fan.

To be fair it wasn't my argument but I take your point. Plenty of amo to sling at our half wit owners but I've never bought the asset stripping one.

I do think JPB makes a fair point about outgoing transfers.

Jerome Andersson along with Steve Agnew and Shebby Sing are the ones who gave Venkys bad advice that have cost them alot money, reputation and status among our supporters and other clubs. I would say J.A and Steve Kean are the biggest cretins as Kean stab Big Sam in the back. Another volture that still circles in the club are Shaw. Had venkys been advised correctly they probably would had better success. Why plug down money in our club otherwise. They have spent more than they ve earned.

Biggest mistake is letting wrong clowns ruling our club.

Nonzi & Samba saw though the charade and saw Kean as a plank.

Emerton may have stayed in different circumstances.

Olsson left after relegation - well ?

Nelsen was given away by Rovers - as a spent force????

Jones - fair do's.

So back on the transfer topic. I see Jimmy Kebe is on a free, not sure we would be able to sign him but he's a player I liked when he was playing for Reading.

Thanks to Wiki and Google I can find out who these players are. Never heard of any that have been recently mentioned. What a crock.

Quite sure that Kebe is on trial somewhere but not in England. Think it was yesterday on Sky Sports transfer centre. He was very good at Reading when they promoted but never took the next step. He had a lot of injuries also. A very pacey winger but not sure he is sny better than we already have.

Maguire rumours seems to be cold now. Don't see Rovers very tempting for him as we have Marshall on books. Maguire can also play as a second striker I think but maybe the lad would like to see Gestede leaving first. Or he wants more money than Rovers can pay.
