I personally back venkys. They made some horrendous errors but I genuinely believe they have good intentions. Nobody can seriously believe they have wanted what has happened to happen. Without them I fear rovers would become a very small fry of a club..

This is what I said the other day and the worry is the players that we're looking at aren't pacey either. Thought this was a pre-requisite for anyone we bring in this summer according to Bowyer a couple months ago. Granted nobody's officially been signed yet but the signs aren't promising.

How will FFP see this and still no incomings.

The squad is fairly depleted at the moment but alot of deqd wood gone.

Most clubs have managed to avoid it because they knew it was coming and prepared accordingly. The reason we didn't is because we have clueless owners who have in turn employed clueless people to run the club. It's nothing to do with being unfortunate, it's just the result of incompetence at all levels.

Preston have signed Will Keane on loan. I thought Wheelock was telling us that no prem players would move on loan until the end of the window? Ameobi went to Cardiff yesterday too. I'm not too gutted about these two but we'll blatantly miss the boat on some good'uns soon. Still, I wouldn't expect anything less from our regime.

The fact that Will Keane has signed for Preston doesn't particularly concern me. The times I have seen him play for QPR and Sheffield Wednesday I haven't been particularly impressed.

However, whilst Preston are signing young players from Man Utd with experience of playing in the Championship we have signed nobody, and are planning on using our pre-season games to run the rule over free agents from Doncaster and Sheffield Wednesday. That is worrying.

Why are we not in the market for highly rated young players from top Premier League sides?
