It was tongue in cheek JH :tu:

This could be good news then if they've already done their cash, but I would imagine their owners will find a way around FFP, whilst ours remain confused after relegation some years ago.

Sheffield Wednesday have joined Middlesbrough in the pursuit of Daryl Murphy by tabling a £4.25million offer for the Ipswich Town striker.

Hmmm. A lot of money for a Championship club considering Murphy's only had one prolific season in his career and is 32. Last season was very much a fluke - before that his best return was 13 goals in a season.

Don't compare anyone you our owners JH!

This guy has serious money, enough to buy Marshall for sure and stay well within FFP.

So I wouldn't rule it out, in fact I'd encourage the sale if it indicates they're cutting their losses and crawling back under the rock where they came from.

I would take relegation to the 3rd Division if they crawled back under their rock !

They certainly haven't improved it but the haven't yet destroyed it either. Your preferred actions surely would imo.

Surely you'd have to ask yourself why we are in such a precarious position? Is that Gav's fault too? Or because of people abandoning the club until it was on their own terms?

Or because of Venkys?

Now Cairney has gone I think it is unlikely Marshall will go. Gestede is a gonner - which should bring in 6m, but whilst Gestede hasn't featured on any promotional pictures like the kit launch, Marshall has been on everything and down at the shop for the kit launch.

I would be very surprised if an offer as low as £3 million sees him go. £4 million + and who knows.

Means nowt ..shearer launched the kit knowing he was off the following day.

He made his money in tinned tuna yet everyone is supposed to be really impressed.

Smart man. Have you seen the price of tuna these days? =0

I beginning to think this thread should be closed down ...

There is no incoming movement and the likelihood is, there will not be any !

Loanees are the key. Not many are available yet. Bad news is our recent track record. Bowyer's hard work behind the scenes might end us resinging Spearing. Wouldn't count Paul Taylor out of options either.

Fill yer boots lads and lasses, according to the LEP we were interested in Will Keane but he chose PKE instead. Hull,Wolves and MK Dons were also in for him so that may spoil the fun a bit.

So things are going on behind the scenes, the club just hasn't signed up and posted it on here :-)

Beaten by PKE. Another line of thanks on the Venky statue.

Maybe he wanted assurances that he would not be played everywhere bar his natural position?

I would take what the LEP says with a pinch of salt. If Wolves wanted him theyd have got him.

Maybe we enquired - but weren't in a position to follow up until Gestede and Rhodes futures confirmed - or is that too logical ?

heard the sticking point was nickname, didn't fancy keaney and Jake was refusing to budge from Keano, Venky's have downgraded the coachomatic software rental plan to the budget version so it only now allows two variations on a name in the nickname generator :)

Trialing these players could be a smoke screen if deadly has already done a nice little couple of deals and agreed to sign them two back up  I really don't want Spearing back !

... Or simply to play, since we've still got Rhodes and Gestede at this moment in time and Brown who (some may not know) has experience getting promoted out of this league. Whilst Garner and Beckford are decent- I see Preston as place Will Keane would get more playing time.

The more disheartening fact at current is that if any team loaning wants 20k per month or so (because covering some youngsters wages would be relatively nothing) we can't be pay it.

Even if it's under 600k, does that mean no loan/transfer fee?

Its very simple really. Don't accept bids.

Sheffield Wednesday can't offer anything we can't. It doesn't matter how much money their owner has or wants to spend. They are in the Championship and limited to the same losses as we are (supposedly).

If Wednesday can offer him a few more grand a week, and look like less of a shambles than us (not difficult) why would he not fancy it?

Just being realistic.

Finish 6th place, we are a success and all is well, finish 9th and we are a shambles 😅

That we are a shambles has little to do with league placing. We are in embargo, we are selling players, the owners have little to no contact with the club. It's a mess.

Contrast that to Wednesday. Public statement of intent from ownership, funds to buy players. Different ball game.

Whats that ground you've got as your profile pic JeePee?

I'll challenge you to find out yourself.. 😉

So far we are three of our key players from last season down - Baptiste, King and Cairney. Also we have lost Dunn. None are likely to be replaced with equivalent quality.

Love to be proved wrong, I was hopeful till the Cairney sale, but for me that has indicated we are now selling with only budget replacements.

If we go out and sign some good free bees that will make a big difference to me but the quality of the trialists is not encouraging.

It would be interesting to know if our beloved Rovers have also learned to play the impairment game (or if it even existed when we went down) that could be saving Fulham, yet QPR missed as well as mentioned here, note Rovers didnt previously use any impairment amounts.... -

Anyone looked closer to BRFC accounts to see if we started writing players value back hard after failing to get promoted and dwindling valuation of player in championship compared to prem?
