The Hanley article looks like typical tabloid trash talk to me, Burnley "could" test Blackburn's resolve by offering 3m but the beleaguered Ewood Park outfit would be reluctant to sell blah blah blah. However in the long run if he could get his head together off the pitch I think he would be a bigger loss than Marshall were he to leave. If however his off the pitch lifestyle continues to marr his on field performance then maybe we'd be doing well to get 3m off anyone for him now.

Where does all this 'off the field' rumour mongering come from Simon? Everybodies at it it seems. I've seen him out once after a game. He came in (the dreadful) Algheros with what I assumed was his girlfriend had a plate of pasta a bottle of beer and left. Hardly hedonistic behaviour I'd suggest. Is it Hanleys turn now because scapegoat No1 Dunny has left?

Under-18's goalkeeper.

Seems an odd one to take, he'll be the 4th or 5th keeper there depending on if Kean has gone too.

What did you make of Nolan at weekend?

To be fair for a transfer window where we are unable to spend i have been pretty happy with some of the players link with us.

Dean Furman while a player who has mostly played in league One is an under rated player, and the step up between league one to championship is far easier in my eyes than going from the championship to the premier league.

Chris Maguire is someone who would be way way better than Chris Brown and a good back up player, while Hugo Rodallega is a fighter and someone who is a bit hit and miss, but I would much rather have a player that give 150% but who isn't as gifted that a highly skilled player who doesn't have a constant presence every game.

Only heard the same tabloid rumours as you on Hanley - if it was to happen not sure how I'd feel based upon the things I've read about him on here last 12 months or so.

Suspect it may just simply be filling column inches.

Be happy to drive him over for you. Even if I have to fly there to do it. However I have a gut feeling your gaffer would get more out of him. That said i think it's horse pucky anyway.

It's of some use IF by selling him and Gestede we'd come out of embargo.

Didn't someone on here say that the date has past for player sales to be included in FFP, so selling now will have no impact on that?

If we got rodegalla and maguire and also that Jordan hiwalu from city and then sign petshi and furman from trails and only sell Gestede we would have had an amazing window and also a great squad to go into the season with

If my aunty had balls...

It would be interesting to know what income and saving from transfers out would be required to give us a P&L that gets us out of the embargo.

Got this funny feeling the squad would have to be cut down to Blackpool-style numbers in order to come anywhere near.

I'd suggest you caught him on one of his quieter weekends when his girlfriend was down from Scotland Gordon!

He moved from Withnell to Buckshaw Village last year and I don't come across him now but when he was at Withnell I used to come across him a fair bit and he was invariably banjoed, often with a group of (male) mates from Scotland towing along.

Now I don't care in the slightest what he does off the pitch as long as it doesn't start to affect his performance on it. However I would say last season his performance levels dipped markedly as did his susceptibility to picking up injuries. It might be connected to his off field activities , it might be purely coincidental but if he is still conducting himself in the same manner as he was when living in Withnell it can hardly help.

Unlike many on here I do actually rate him as a player and I hope he gets back to his best form this season and becomes the first choice centre back. I would have liked to have seen him and Baptiste given a chance together as our first choice centre back pairing but that never came about because of his injuries last season and will obviously never happen now.

I really don't understand the need to go to Portugal for 'warm weather' training. For the squad and management it would probably be the thick end of £30k to do this in a time when we are on the bones of our arse. We have one of the best training facilities in the country at Brockhall and if they wanted to keep the players together there is living accomodation too.

Fair point, what I found even more astonishing was that they apparently went to Magaluf I think it was for an end of season "team bonding" exercise. Not exactly the Seychelles I grant you but for me it was another example of GB having his every request granted in terms of putting together and preparing the squad.

My response on being told that was that the majority of them should have been thrown in the cells for a week the way they performed or rather didn't perform last season.

I see him a lot around the village and he always seems quiet and reserved.

Had a chat with him... Once... Short and sweet but he was very accommodating!

I like the guy both on and off the pitch. These are the players we should be celebrating!

Delighted to hear that. and I agree with the bit in bold. He should be being celebrated as one of our best players along with the likes of Rhodes and Gestede.

Yes you're right, we will have a great big squad full of squad players, shame the first team will still be @#/?

I'm sorry but your 'experienced-based' opinion doesn't matter - because it is simply not negative enough for supporters of our club.

Never heard of him but linked with a Man City striker. Looks like he's available for loan or transfer...that counts us out unless they give him us for free.

Seen hiwula play a couple of times and was stand out fantastic but only playin in u21s. He went on loan last year n bagged a couple. Would b excited to see what he could offer at this level. Scored 4 against bburn u21s all quality strikeshttp://ri.search.yahoo.com/_ylt=A9mSs2yMtqNVqVAA1.FB4iA5;_ylu=X3oDMTBzMW0xM29kBGNvbG8DaXIyBHBvcwMxMAR2dGlkAwRzZWMDc3I-/RV=2/RE=1436821261/RO=10/RU=http%3a%2f%2fwww.manchestereveningnews.co.uk%2fsport%2ffootball%2ffootball-news%2fmanchester-city-u21s-roar-up-6873115/RK=0/RS=EpFwjqz8AWp7MhbSyfzzegX_uh8-

Wasn't it Marbella? I do worry our lads have it a bit too easy from Bowyer. I used to follow a few players on Instagram such as Chris Taylor and Marshall and they were often posting up pics of nights out. Particularly Taylor who seemed to enjoy his midweek sessions (Wednesdays or Thursdays I think) and was always posting pics of him with pints and out with the lads. I am sure a few surfaced from Hanley's insta. I know they are young chaps and like going out but even once a week is enough to put a dent in fitness I am sure.

Don't mock my dreams

Haha someone had to burst your bubble. I approach anything to do with Rovers with outright pessimism. At least that way I'm less likely to be disappointed when we inevitably fail to deliver, whether that be in transfers or performances etc. That doesn't mean I don't have high standards though and want to see us doing our best. I just feel Bowyer isn't the one to take us forward.

She would still beat you on FIFA

Haha probably. I'm more of a 'Football Manager' kinda guy. It's how I know Bowyer is a dud tactically ;)
