rovers11 Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Rodallega joined a Turkish side. End of rumour then.

ABBEY Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Did anyone actually think it would happen ? Gullible and clueless if you did . The only rod we will get is a fishing rod off ebay
ptholt Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 or possibly the footballing equivalent of Rod, Jane & Freddy
T J Hooker Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Rovers linked with Hugo Rodallega. Striker ex wigan and Fulham player. Available on a free. Brighton linked with Marshall. Both in today's Sun paper. IMO, Rodallega is a decent striker and better than Brown or Fortester. And I wouldnt sell Marshall cos I see Him and Rhodes has our key players this coming season How do you know he's better than Forrester? Forrester hasnt even had a run in the 1st team yet to decide eithervway how good or bad he is.You(and tbf a lot of other people) seem to just a want us to sign pretty much anybody.
rickard Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Haha probably. I'm more of a 'Football Manager' kinda guy. It's how I know Bowyer is a dud tactically Me too. It only took me 2 years to get Rovers to the Champions League... Come one Gary, make it happpen!
AllRoverAsia Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Did anyone actually think it would happen ? Gullible and clueless if you did . The only rod we will get is a fishing rod off ebay Has anyone seen Rodoff Ebay play? any good? sounds Russian-Turk to me. Must be a Daily Star lead.
ABBEY Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Or the Rumanian ..rodhullandemu .. Good attacker if a little crazy
Backroom Madon Posted July 13, 2015 Backroom Posted July 13, 2015 It would be brilliant if we made a signing at some point...
LewisF Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Didn't Bowyer say he'd like to have made a signing before they set off for Potugal? Well they've already set off..... Pff.
Leonard Venkhater Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Where does all this 'off the field' rumour mongering come from Simon? Everybodies at it it seems. I've seen him out once after a game. He came in (the dreadful) Algheros with what I assumed was his girlfriend had a plate of pasta a bottle of beer and left. Hardly hedonistic behaviour I'd suggest. Is it Hanleys turn now because scapegoat No1 Dunny has left? The only thing certain about scapegoating is that the spotlight will merely turn on somebody else, should the current one ever leave! Do you think we could come up with a Rovers scapegoat 11? Easy, I reckon,.... with a large subs bench as well
AdamRochina Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Daily mail saying Brighton have but a bid in for Marshall of 1.5 million If he was to be sold in my personal opinion he best go to a prem team for double that. .If we sell him for that kind of figure to a team weaker then us and help strengthen them like we did Fulham then I will be really upset about it .. as then it would be clear to us whats really happening
davulsukur Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 I wouldn't be selling Marshall. Certainly not for that price and not to a championship club. If true, it will be very telling as to Venkys intentions if he is sold.
martonrover Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Never mind, in these austerity days for the club it's good to hear we're not wasting money on a trip abroad without even playing a competitive game ;-)
skous18 Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 If we let Marshall go for 1.5mil. That will be absolutly pathetic
JHRover Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Never mind, in these austerity days for the club it's good to hear we're not wasting money on a trip abroad without even playing a competitive game ;-) Every club in the Championship travels abroad for pre-season training. So there must be good reason for it. If we didn't bother and were the only club that stayed at home then people would highlight that as a reason for poor results. I'm disappointed that we haven't got at least one game lined up abroad against foreign opposition. Its complete nonsense that we can't/couldn't attract decent opposition, just that there is nobody at the club with the ambition or drive to get such games sorted out and no interest in giving the supporters something to get excited about. We're supposed to believe that Wigan at home is the best we can do as a Championship club. Meanwhile QPR play Shakhtar Donetsk, Brighton host Sevilla and Fulham play Hamburg....
JHRover Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Daily mail saying Brighton have but a bid in for Marshall of 1.5 million If he was to be sold in my personal opinion he best go to a prem team for double that. .If we sell him for that kind of figure to a team weaker then us and help strengthen them like we did Fulham then I will be really upset about it .. as then it would be clear to us whats really happening The same Daily Mail that said Watford had signed Gestede about 6 weeks ago... In all seriousness, selling Cairney to a club like Fulham will encourage mediocre sides like Brighton to make cheeky bids for our players. If only we had considered the ramifications before quickly offloading one of our best players to dross like Fulham. Brighton probably don't expect us to do a deal at £1.5 million but hey, nobody expected them to sell Cairney, so its worth a punt. Others will be thinking the same. We don't have to sell and don't need to sell. Our wage bill will now be at highest average in the Championship, probably bottom half. Our squad cost and size has been stripped back to the bare bones in recent months. Zero incomings, little to no room for manouevure in the transfer market, and a threadbare squad desperately limited, particularly in attacking options. We've only 16 outfield players on our books! I wonder how long until some are on here telling us that this is our place in the world and our role as a club is to develop players before selling them on at a profit...to Brighton/Fulham!!! League One is just around the corner if this continues. Even if we keep Rhodes/Gestede/Marshall we'll need at least 4 more to plug the gaps created in this summers exodus.
Damien Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 If we let Marshall go for 1.5mil. That will be absolutly pathetic I actually think if cancel my season ticket! Selling cairney wasn't great but I can cope... Losing gestede is bad but again if he wants out... But to sell Marshall who I believe is fantastic and had said he doesn't want to go... That's it for me... Surely we need to be keeping these players at the club... The ones like gestede can't be avoided... Even cairney leaving could be forgiven... But Marshall has to stay! Come on bowyer!

I wouldn't say our role is to sell players to Fulham/Brighton etc. what I would say is if players fail to impress then if other Clubs come in unexpectedly and offer 3x what we paid for them, I'd take that all day long. Obviously at 1.5m it's a non starter, at 3.5m plus I'd take it. I actually think if cancel my season ticket! Selling cairney wasn't great but I can cope... Marshall, fantastic, really? Don't see it at all myself. Brilliant for 5 or 6 games, bang average or downright poor the rest of the time.

Do you think we could come up with a Rovers scapegoat 11? Easy, I reckon,.... with a large subs bench as well I'll humour you. This is what I could come up with. Might have left out older players. ---------------Robinson-------------- Lowe-----Dann----Peacock-----Reid Dunn----Andrews---Pedersen(biggest scapegoat imo) Rochina-----Grabbi------Wilcox Subs: Rhodes, Roberts, Hanley, Amoruso, Blake, John O'Mara, Ward, Kean
Amo Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Marshall is one that flatters to deceive but you can't deny the guy has raw talent. That talent could be the difference between Championship & League One footy next season.

No smoke without fire and there's been a lot of smoke...some have even seen the fire Hopefully he's calmed down and will get his nut down this season.
