I doubt it. Never scored more than 5 in a season.

7 goals & 8 assists last season, Rev. I think there's more to come from him, but I also think we'll be hard-pressed to find better for sweet FA.

I'll humour you. This is what I could come up with. Might have left out older players.

---------------Robinson--------------

Lowe-----Dann----Peacock-----Reid

Dunn----Andrews---Pedersen(biggest scapegoat imo)

Rochina-----Grabbi------Wilcox

Subs: Rhodes, Roberts, Hanley, Amoruso, Blake, John O'Mara, Ward, Kean

Haha...off top of my head.....

Butcher, R.Brown, K.Hill, Coddington, Hanley, Atkins, Andrews, Wilcox, Quinn, O'Mara, B.Hill

Subs Roberts, Pedersen, Blake, Fazackerley, Goodwillie

Seen hiwula play a couple of times and was stand out fantastic but only playin in u21s. He went on loan last year n bagged a couple. Would b excited to see what he could offer at this level. Scored 4 against bburn u21s all quality strikeshttp://ri.search.yahoo.com/_ylt=A9mSs2yMtqNVqVAA1.FB4iA5;_ylu=X3oDMTBzMW0xM29kBGNvbG8DaXIyBHBvcwMxMAR2dGlkAwRzZWMDc3I-/RV=2/RE=1436821261/RO=10/RU=http%3a%2f%2fwww.manchestereveningnews.co.uk%2fsport%2ffootball%2ffootball-news%2fmanchester-city-u21s-roar-up-6873115/RK=0/RS=EpFwjqz8AWp7MhbSyfzzegX_uh8-

Must be late interest? Though Hudders had this one wrapped up with a huge sell on fee?

Didn't Bowyer say he'd like to have made a signing before they set off for Potugal? Well they've already set off..... Pff.

I thought he said he liked to do business early on in the Transfer Window. Obviously can't as dependent on out-goings still to happen.

Fazackerley was my super hero at the time. Why would anyone ever boo Faz. He would be known as Fazzy if playing for Rovers now!

Emerton was a scapegoat for a number of fans for a long while, despite being one of the best pros the club has had in recent years.

If we let Marshall go for 1.5mil. That will be absolutly pathetic

That is an insult. Send them off with a flea in their ear for deliberately trying to unsettle him.

I wouldn't say our role is to sell players to Fulham/Brighton etc. what I would say is if players fail to impress then if other Clubs come in unexpectedly and offer 3x what we paid for them, I'd take that all day long.

Obviously at 1.5m it's a non starter, at 3.5m plus I'd take it.

.

Rev, What does it take to get it into your head that we can't spend the money on replacements?

Who wouldn't back that team against what we have currently?

We already have a ready made alternative to Marshall in C. Taylor who would be far more effective over the course of a 46 game season imo.

Every club in the Championship travels abroad for pre-season training. So there must be good reason for it.

If we didn't bother and were the only club that stayed at home then people would highlight that as a reason for poor results.

I'm disappointed that we haven't got at least one game lined up abroad against foreign opposition. Its complete nonsense that we can't/couldn't attract decent opposition, just that there is nobody at the club with the ambition or drive to get such games sorted out and no interest in giving the supporters something to get excited about.

We're supposed to believe that Wigan at home is the best we can do as a Championship club. Meanwhile QPR play Shakhtar Donetsk, Brighton host Sevilla and Fulham play Hamburg....

Well obviously it's important to prepare for matches in the English Championship in Portuguese conditions ;-)

I think your second point is more pertinent. The standard of opposition throughout pre-season is poor and surely better quality pre-season fixtures in the UK is more important than clearing off abroad.

On the transfer front the club is clearly even more in a state of Venky's induced inertia than ever before.

Venky's seem reluctant to allow Bowyer to sign anyone at all inspite of numerous departures already.

The next month and a half will be very telling.

So we sell Marshall, let's say Taylor gets injured, then what? We need strength in depth. Can't gamble on Taylor to have the best season of his career and stay injury free.

Taylor has been inconsistent at Rovers and from what I've seen on social media, he likes a good booze up. I'd rather he remain a squad player as I don't think he's as talented as Marshall. Puts in a shift but not always got the end product.

Cairney might not have been everyone's cup of tea but his exit coupled with Williamson signing a new deal has already weakened us plenty (another year older and another year slower).

We should be keeping hold of our talented players and shifting on the deadwood. Not letting our most talented players go whilst keeping hold of average/cr@p players.

Rodallega joined a Turkish side. End of rumour then.

I could be wrong but I'd imagine his wage is less and assume that the Turkish taxation system will make up for it. Such a lot of older players end up in Turkey (Van Persie going now) that there must be a reason for it.

League One is just around the corner if this continues. Even if we keep Rhodes/Gestede/Marshall we'll need at least 4 more to plug the gaps created in this summers exodus.

What's kept you JHRover? A decent number on here predicted such 4-5 years ago. Hence the much criticised (but poorly supported) protests.

Retention of our playing assets kept me.

Showing a determination to keep our better players out of other clubs reaches, demonstrated last summer with the rejection of a huge bid for Rhodes, meant that whatever people felt about the manager the club at least meant business from a playing staff point of view and weren't going to cash in on their best players.

The Cairney sale has changed all that. Sell any more, combined with the embargo, it will only end one way.

That's why my belief has been to keep the embargo and keep our good squad. Not decimate the squad to try and get out the embargo, by which time (January or June 2016) it might well be too late to arrest the decline.

Retention of our playing assets??? I witnessed EHD and Phil Jones leave one way or another, saw through the bollux about Hoilett signing a new contract, recognised the disquiet in N'Zonzi, Nelsen and Samba and packed in my ST. The magnificent performances of four of those 5 players plus the admirable Jermaine Jones were the only thing that rescued us that first venky season. i only returned once Kean and Anderson were binned off.

Oh for the halcyon days of the Walker Trust when we fought tooth and nail to hang on to our prize assets like Sutton,Duff, Bentley, Roque Santa Cruz etc. and wouldn't dream of cashing in.

Oh err hang on......

I do generally agree with you but the 'ME ME ME' in many of your posts is rather tedious. We get it. You saw the disaster coming and you packed up your ST for that reason. We know your sabbatical was temporary and now the club needs all the money it can get as we march on down to League One, hence why you attend now. Hate to burst your bubble but you weren't alone in seeing Venky's were a walking disaster you know and I think a good few thousand (at least) other fans saw it coming. Perhaps they didn't have the heart to pack in Rovers (even temporarily) but maybe you should have put more effort into getting people on board with your boycott at the time, since you often criticise others for not joining you.

Only difference in opinion we have is that I had the foresight to state we needed a new manager well over a year ago and that a calculated appointment could have saved us from our impending doom which FFP has surely sealed, whilst you were content in the knowledge that you were right and it's been a one way ticket since Venky's took over. 'Twas a fool's hope to even dream that Venky's would replace Bowyer with anyone remotely better but it could have made a decisive difference. After all, promotion is all we need to save us financially and it could have happened under a better manager last season. No doubt about that. Now we are probably past the point of no return but I still believe that if we got lucky on an appointment, we could certainly do better than last season under a talented boss. Worse squads have done it before and will do it again. Law of averages says Venky's have got to get it right at some point. Pointless just sitting here whilst we meander on down the football leagues under GB.

Nice to see you've beentaking note mustard. :rover: Also that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery "I had the foresight" more than a touch of 'me me me' about that. Pity you left it so long to develop that foresight though. :tu:
