roverzee Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Why do they have to keep fiddling with the home shirt? The mock up got great feedback, the actual shirt looks like changing for changing' sake - again. Much like our team they can't seem to just stick with what works and what the fans want. Since the mock-ups were released, the actual shirts have been in a shipping container somewhere between the Far East and Felixstowe. Perhaps it wasn't a very accurate mock-up, but the shirts certainly won't have been changed. Regarding "what the fans want" - well when it comes to shirts, surely you have learnt over the years that different people like different styles of shirts?! I've loved the last three home shirts, but don't like this one because of the collar. Lots of people didn't like last years because of the light blue - but as many more thought it was fantastic as proved by the sales.

Gumbi Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Just for interests sake, as far as i can see we are the only club in the Championship that as yet hasn't either 1) already got the new kit on sale 2) provided a release date for the new kit 3) provided a proper photo shoot or images of the new kit. Neither Brighton or QPR have revealed their new kits yet and they're both with Nike. Due to the fact our kit deal is with Nike and not a subsidiary company of Nike like Charlton and Preston have, we have to release our kits when they tell us we can. The plus side to this is that some thought actually goes into designing it instead of picking something from their teamwear catalouge. The only reason why we had teamwear stuff in our first season with them is due to the fact the designing process begins over a year in advance.

QPR have gone to the trouble of putting a story on their website, informing supporters that their kits will be launched at a 'special event' on 30th June which will be broadcast live on the internet. So even if they can't get their kits on sale as early as some, they are at least making the effort to keep supporters in the loop and engaged with the process. Contrast to Rovers, who have offered nothing except a very vague 'early July' for the home shirt and 'late July' for the away shirt. I wonder if anyone at the club actually knows or is bothered when they can get the kit on sale, or if they will just worry about that when the boxes get dropped off outside the club shop and they get round to unpacking them.

Does this really matter? The shirt looks good. Exactly how it is sold doesn't make a difference. Last year, the video with Birdy was horrendous and the shirt, in my opinion, was horrible. We've always been late with our kit launches so I don't think its worth making an issue out of this just for the sake of it. There are plenty of other reasons to be concerned about right now. How quickly can we get out home shirt on sale is not the biggest concern.
Rover_Shaun Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Its blue and white. Therefore its mighty alright.
Pedro Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Looks like the halves aren't reversed on the back. They can't do owt reyt, again. It's definitely not reversed on the back 😂
jumpin' Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 It's definitely not reversed on the back 😂? Have a look through the collar onto the back cocker.

How quickly can we get out home shirt on sale is not the biggest concern. I understand that its not a massive issue, and that many people couldn't really care less. I just think that it serves to highlight the lackadaisical approach of the club that seems to exist at every level. Little to no effort to try and engage supporters whilst rivals have people trying to promote the club and drum up more interest. Most other clubs are at the moment running season reviews of last season, going through the months and showing highlights of games etc. Others are offering season previews, with team-by-team analysis of opponents for the coming season. Its nothing major, it doesn't cost money, it doesn't take a lot of effort. We've got nothing. And have had virtually nothing since the Ipswich game at the end of the season.
windymiller7 Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Not to be disrespectful to the OP, but are we sure that's it's a genuine shirt and not a knock off? Replica shirts sold in many retail outlets abroad are very often not exactly the real deal. Before we all get our knickers in a twist about the halves not being reversed, let's wait for the official UK launch, complete with Dafabet logo. If it's not reversed on that one, then knock yourselves out.
OJRovers Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 The kit release is just another example of how amateur things are behind the scenes, and how the way the club is currently running (i.e. with no empowerment in the UK) is not working. From going from one of the best run clubs in the Premier League to this is shocking.
mhead Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Just poor Management with no commitment or grassroots interest. If you can afford a shirt(and presumably a Season-Ticket) you wash your shirt on its own on a low temperature. END OF THREAD>
Amo Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 We're a professional football club with a multi-million pound turnover aspiring to be in the Premier League.

From going from one of the best run clubs in the Premier League to this is shocking. To be fair, late release of the new shirts and not having them in time to proudly parade on the beach on your hols in Spain etc was always an annual complaint of the Fans Forum during the Walker Trust years as well.

This was taken by my brother, who found the yellow shirt a few years back over there before any pictures were released here. So yes I'm pretty sure its the real thing

Iceman Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Looking through the neck hole, it doesn't look like its reversed on the back. It looks like the recent half and half instead of quarters. Why do they have to keep fiddling with the home shirt? The mock up got great feedback, the actual shirt looks like changing for changing' sake - again. Much like our team they can't seem to just stick with what works and what the fans want. I was hoping to get the home shirt this year. The thought of looking like I'm wearing a United shirt is not a happy prospect. but if its quarters, then shouldnt it be blue and white quarters? i always wondered this. i know the front and back resembles halves, but if its designed in opposite to each other, then its quarters. i have no idea what im talking about here, but whats new lol
Claytons Left Boot Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 We play in blue and white halves, albeit two halves on the front and two halves on the back. Never ever referred to quarters on a Blackburn Rovers shirt. We leave that to Bristol Rovers. Now can we get back on topic please? My washing machine is a Fukshytie (made in Japan) and only has five buttons - on, off, warm, hot and fukshyting hot. It's really nice but this year they've changed the colour from lime green to purple. I'm not happy.
Amo Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Bring back the Kappa shirts! They wouldn't go down well with the Jacamo crowd.
chaddyrovers Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 The Hone Shirt will be on sale from 9th July and the away shirt at the end of the July. Rovers official twitter as the source
joey_big_nose Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Does anyone know if anywhere is selling last seasons home kit on the cheap? It's really grown on me. Think it will becomes a bit of a cult classic. I'm happy to pay full price if its not knocking around in the bargain bin already.

JHRover Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Somebody was asking the club on twitter yesterday about the release of the new home shirt. The club was asked when we could expect some sort of photoshoot with the players in the new shirt ahead of its release, given that it will be on sale a week today. The clubs response was 'all in good time!'. Unfortunately we don't have much time. I think it will be very interesting to see which players the club choses to 'model' the new home shirt. If neither Rhodes or Gestede are used to 'model' the new home shirt then it becomes very clear what the clubs intentions are for the summer.

I think the intentions of the club were pretty clear in January when they tried to shove Gestede out the door and it back fired on them big time
