[Archived] New Home Shirt - Actual Image, No Sponsor

Recommended Posts

Somebody was asking the club on twitter yesterday about the release of the new home shirt. The club was asked when we could expect some sort of photoshoot with the players in the new shirt ahead of its release, given that it will be on sale a week today.

The clubs response was 'all in good time!'. Unfortunately we don't have much time.

I think it will be very interesting to see which players the club choses to 'model' the new home shirt. If neither Rhodes or Gestede are used to 'model' the new home shirt then it becomes very clear what the clubs intentions are for the summer.

It'll be one of the younger lads who have just sign extensions to show off they signed with Conway cos is a senior player and either Olsson or Henley.

My guess.

That way they are

No idea how to add an image onto here, anyway, the photo of the away shirt (actual image like the home one - on a Rovers store hanger) is circulating on Facebook. I like it. Red with black collar as we knew but does look very smart.

Miles better than last seasons if that's the genuine article. No idea why last seasons was so popular, it was ok but I put it down to the genuine buzz there was this time last year more than the shirt itself. I bet sales aren't so fast this time even though it's a proper modern day Rovers shirt

Rhodes, Conway, Marshall and an un-named shadow wearing the away kit (judging by the red socks). Is this like in Asda when the put the special offers on an end of aisle gondola? This weeks special offers are........

Anyway, back to the kit - I do like it even without the reversed halves on the rear. I think I understand why they're not - it'd look a bit lob sided with the shoulder panels, kind of like when you throw a shirt on an hanger and it's twisted.

Typical Rovers promotional shot though - non of your fancy green screening special effects, no not for us Northerners that lad. 4 blokes stood in a field! Nah-then, that's more like it!

Think that is Steel in the GK kit (he is on other pics)

Must admit did not like the red stripe on the mock up, but it looks ok on the real version judging from the photos

Probably thinking, bloody hell we are going to have to do this at our new clubs in a few weeks or they have seen Alan Spielbergs script for the promo video :)

Maybe they don't like chicken drummers.

Happy bunch.

I've just had a look at the new hooped Barca shirt as modelled by some of their players. Messi, Pique, Suarez and Neymar look right miserable buggers.

Trouble at the Camp Nou Stu?

Last season's kits now on a sale special - with big red tags!

Wanders over...

The tag still says they are £35 but I'm NOW supposed to be impressed that it WAS £50.

I can only assume it's so that when this season's shirt goes on sale at £50 it'll look like good value in comparison.

On the plus side, Tom Cairney still looks happy wearing it on his postcard (also still on sale).

Loving the shirt. Hated last year's but will definitely buy this season's home shirt.

Not sure why the trend is for shorts to get longer and longer, they're going to be looking like Sid Puddlefoot soon. I'm not sure if we want to see a return to the skin tight crotch huggers favoured by the likes of Glen Hoddle thirty odd years ago but there must be a happy medium somewhere inbetween.

Great news that Rhodes is on the promotional photo? Let's hope so.
