[Archived] Is It Time To Protest Against Venkys?

Recommended Posts

Did I read that right GAV? Your hatred of the Venky's is so profound you actually WANT us to do badly?

I fear your opinion of them is skewing your viewpoint to an unhealthy degree my old friend.

I've said many many times I never want us to lose, but I think it's a natural progression under Venkys that we will see more loses in the coming months and I hope that will see people start to get angry.

But I think you already know that you cheeky sod.

Agreed. If our hardcore remains 10/12k for league games that's very good considering everything that's gone on. It still represents one of the best % compared to the towns population in this league. A nice fact to quote to away fans who like to mouth off about our support.

I think in reality we probably sell around 8/9 k ST's with a couple of thousand complimentaries or something boosting that figure. Sometimes a lot of them will get taken up others times not many hence the fluctuating numbers actually in the ground yet the official attendance always remains around the same minus the away contingent.

Matchday prices are becoming ridiculous around the Championship now. We charged Wolves £27 on Saturday and same in the BBE I believe. £27.50 for Hudds at weekend, should always take 1500 plus across there but I bet it's about half that on Saturday :(

Not only away as you said. Prices at Ewood making walk-ons unfeasible for a chunk of non-ST holders I imagine. Obviously it shouldn't add up to cheaper than an ST but over £25 a ticket is excessive IMO.

No offence intended GAV, that's what you typed and I can only go on that.

I think most people were fuming with our performance last season and that feeling will only get worse if we perform worse this season.

I simply don't understand why people would want to protest to remove the one thing currently preventing us from going to the wall. You don't have to particularly like them given their record or hold a ticker tape reception in Blackburn in their honour but some people feel their financial support is an unavoidable necessity at the current time in our situation.

You're going to have to offer more than that to be taken seriously Pedro, or you're simply attention seeking yourself.

Over to you :tu:

It's called being concise Gav, not attention seeking. Why write hundreds of words when a few perfectly sum up my opinion?

I think the initial post, followed by the subsequent disappearing act whilst certain people get in a right old tizz - is simply a case of poking the stick...or wumming as we like to refer to it. I can't imagine for a minute where this magical realm, where person after person compliments the goings on at Rovers in the last 18 months, is.

They are taking us to chuffing wall by building the debts and not going with a manager with the nous to get us promoted . The slum dogs have created this and continue with it . Bully for them they put money in accounts ... The money they have cost rovers as a club far outweighs that

vENKYSCUM OUT

I revert back to the over the top analogy where by you continue to employ the babysitter that abused the kids because you can't get another babysitter. Quite simply you wouldn't do it, no matter what the consequences, I see the football club in the same light.

UP THE DAIRY FARMERS!

All credit to them, taking on the big boys :tu:

Most farmers I know are massive Tories who have had it good for many years.

It's market forces and the power of the huge supermarkets that cause this. I didn't see the Farmers supporting the Miners, Steel Workers and car makers. I do wish them well though, but can't ever see it being a subsidised industry again.

Totally agree Rev. It's all very well calling for Venky's to go but who keeps the club afloat when they are gone. It's the question that is never answered. Being pragmatic, IMO, Venky's are needed in the short term simply to keep it going until someone comes along who can provide the necessary financial support that the club requires.

Sadly correct.

That seems to be the feeling amongst the majority of supporters Paffel, let the club die quietly under these idiots rather than roll that dice and attempt to make a fight of it and see if we can get new owners in.

Yes I know, I know, venkys don't listen blah blah blah, I wonder if Oystons listening? Points deductions and a massive fine coming his way should the fans kick off again.....

Anyway I think it's inevitable that protests will happen this season simply because the teams poor, the managers poor and we're in for a long hard season with little to cheer about, that usually does the trick.

So let's just take it up the rear and let us go under with the great Pune dudes

Whatever floats your boat Abbey.

But until the day somebody comes along buys the club, clears the debts - we are stuck.

Has anybody come to try to buy the club? NO

Has anybody offered to pay off the debts? NO

Venkys go, club folds. With nobody around interested or able in bringing the club out of administration.

The cold cold sad reality the club is in.
