[Archived] Is It Time To Protest Against Venkys?

Recommended Posts

We don't know who will emerge but I am pretty certain that the Currie/ Battersby operation would spring into action .as one of them has repeatedly said that they would act if the future of the Club came under threat. That is a totally different ball game to them coming and 'buying' the club which would be p1ssing money down the drain.Equally who would rightfully want to give Venkys a penny for what they have done. However if it wAs an Admin job then there would be no purchase price , just the capital to pick up the club and run it properly.I think the 2 Ian's would definitely be there and probably a good number of others.

Frankly I am getting to the point where I would be willing to take that risk than this death by a thousand cuts crap that we are all suffering now.

Some interesting names involved with that Seneca.

Go on Tomphil what do you know? Are they good names so to speak or is the illusion about to be shattered??

People in business around the north west, Manhester ,

Liverpool etc reckon they are a top drawer mob?

interesting stuff on their website I'm sure they could pull it off

Presumably , well more to the point let's hope so though personally Athlete I don't see Admin in the near future.

I was more interested to know who these " interesting" people that Tomphil referred to.Football people or wedged up people???

PAFELL what really got me going was you stating facts which aren't true as I've said before if Venkys admin the club there will be someone come along and start again don't forget were currently only a tier below the promised land... The sooner people realise that we will exist without Venky's Shaw Bowyer etc the better

Bet you're one sad loner down under your only pleasure trying to wind people up the other side of the world after a few cans of tooheys

You HOPE somebody will come along - but you don't know.

We also wouldn't be one tier below the promised land. Points deduction would probable mean relegation. FFP still around the clubs neck.

But 'Who' is that someone Athlete? You don't know, just as nobody knows what will happen to the club if the owners pull the plug. If no one comes in the club folds - that is a fact. Look at the money that is being required to be put in by the owners at the moment. 30, 40 million over the past twelve months. I suspect that they aren't doing that because they want to but because it's necessary to keep the show on the road. At the end of the day nobody knows what happens if we stick with Venky's, just as nobody knows what happens if we don't. The reason why people are sticking with the present owners if because there is no credible alternative being put forward and until a credible alternative is put forward I would think that most people will be prepared to stick with what we have.

Good post

Wow! I've just had to remove about 50 posts worth of frankly embarrassing personal abuse and the inevitable fall out from it.

... and people wonder why we don't organise face to face meet-ups any more!

Play nicely or we'll make you play elsewhere (the Rovers Facebook groups are full of this kind of crap, so I'm sure some of you would fit right in).

An ex Rovers director who is married to Jacks daughter and I'm told another Walker has something to do with it.

I'd be absolutely delighted if a consortium came in under the auspices of the two Ians but hasn't Mr Battersby publically stated that the club is "unbuyable"? That sounds as though the only way that they would get involved is via Adminstration. I know that some advocate that but for a club like ours that would be a terrible ignominy, basically saying "we aren't paying our debts, so up yours".

Quite right and fair enough. I'm not all that savvy with social media and haven't been able to find these groups but will try again. I'm sure there will be many enthusiastic volunteers who might point me in the right direction.

Administration would be the most sensible option I'm sure, but when Ian said it wasnt 'buyable' now, in sure he meant that Venkys are not selling, not contactable and so that was why it was unbuyable.

Some people listened to the same interview and think it was because of the debt, but thats not what I heard and I'm sure not what Ian meant.

If Venkys stance on selling players is anything to go by then if they did put it up for sale they'd probably want an completely unrealistic amount for it, otherwise they'd just keep us hanging similar to what we are now. Probably the Ian's gang etc would only ever come in with a rescue package. Still nice to know they are there though, IF they would even consider it that is.

I haven't actually heard that interview but if his words are open to interpretation then fair enough. Why though, would anybody pay off Venky's £100m + debt to acquire a Championship club? Even to a layman that makes no business sense at all when you consider that for around the figure of the debt you could buy West Brom or maybe even Villa.

He said in the interview that the debt isn't Blackburn Rovers at the time of speaking, it's not held against the club, but that could change at any moment.

Bottom line in my opinion is the club would only be bought if the club went into administration, that day can't come quick enough for me.

The way I read it was, that the club is unsellable with massive debts and massive overheads.

Well maybe some of those overheads are a bit lower, and probably to get rid, Venkys would have to bear a lot of the debt.

The only fact I can state is that if we continue as we are we will fold, because Venkys will fold as they will have mortgaged the group to the BOI.

For me the only way we can survive is in our current form is if Venkys keep funding us or hand the club over debt free. I can't see Rovers bankrupting Venkys but that would bring the debate back around on a full 360 on the circular argument about their wealth.

The only saving grace in all of this is that they're not going bankrupt anytime soon, that's clear.

People seem content to play this out because they feel we have no other option, I disagree, but it makes no difference, this will play out one way or another.

Do they get board, sick of the club and leave taking the debt with them.

Or do they leave and more than likely put the debt on to the club which could ruin the club depending how long this goes on for.

I am with you Gav. This isn't ever coming right under Venkys so for me lets take the consequences and get our club back into decent hands again and feel like we can move forward again instead of this Chinese water torture.

I can't see savvy people like the Ian's parting with a penny to buy the club.Lets say Venkys say give us what we paid for it ie £23 million. Why woul you? All that entitles you too is a mess of a club and contracted players who are useless and monthly losses. Why would anyone pay for that privilege?? But in the doomsday I'd admin , or better still Venkys calling it quits and giving it to them, then the Ian's would be by far my best option.

I thought Seneca was basically the 2 Ian's and a few others but there's loads of seriously qualified peopl in there like a who's who of financial experts in running businesses. They even have a global strategist so Shebby won't be coming!!

But Gav, until Venkys do something none of this is happening .

How good would it be if everybody going tomorrow night stayed on the concourse until 8pm leaving a completely empty stadium for 15 mins in protest.? That would grab media attention and in India and still allow people to go to the game.
