[Archived] Is It Time To Protest Against Venkys?

Venkys India share price almost trebled through late June and July.

Not sure why or how this will affect the club. I have been told, as has been repeated on here, that the club is being funded by personal wealth more than the company's cash and assets.

I guess shareholders wouldn't be too happy about tens of millions disappearing down a hole in Blackburn, Lancashire.

We're a drop in the ocean, not sure their investors even know we're part of the Venky's portfolio. I'd imagine our losses are nothing in comparison to the overall turnover of the group.

What's worrying is that if we really are that insignificant to the group's overall bottom line, the current situation could go on indefinitely. Continued minimal investment on the hope that one day we might strike lucky and somehow get promoted on the cheap.

That's the big worry for me and why hoping for admin is in the minds of some. Stay hamstrung for the next decade whilst producing players for other clubs and keeping a set of very fortunate and very average people in good wages and commissions OR bite the bullet and start again.

A big public very large loss making franchise arm of their portfolio does seem to be of some use to them in number crunching terms. Very very worrying.

I can't and won't defend them but the attending / non attending thing is something they can never win, if they attended no doubt someone would post in her having a pop about it.

From the sounds of a similar question at the q and a I wouldn't be surprised if Alan Myers had suggested they don't attend.

The situation is as clear as day to most...we are finished as a football club with Venkys and we are finished without them. This is the awful situation the club has been placed in,backed into a corner of no hope by utter incompetence.

Make no mistake,we are a club in total and utter limbo,we have the wrong people in charge of the club on ALL Levels, the self preservation society is in full effect at Ewood Park and there appears nothing the fans can do to change this.

The future is very bleak for Rovers,Jack Walkers legacy has been systematically and I believe

Wilfully destroyed as we simply watch on in horror.

I really didn't want to believe it could get this bad but we are in total freefall.

I feel distraught at what has been done to this once great club.

The problem with protesting against Venky's is that it has no effect on them.

The only way to have some effect on them and on their core business is to protest in India, we tried this via the Indian media with some success, especially when the Times of India did that big piece which gave them lots of bad PR, but now that we are in the Championship there is no interest from the India media. So protesting at Ewood would make us the fans feel better but it will no effect on Venky's.

These guys are cretins of the highest order, they are beyond incompetent. They consistently made bad appointments and will continue to do so. As I said months ago, the executive structure at Ewood is a complete and utter joke, all that they are interested in is self preservation.

AN EMPTY GROUND SPEAKS VOLUMES

Total boycott of games ...Hard to do but the only way..

If only a few hundred turned up it would make headlines nationally..

I tend to agree with you Waggy. The "stay away" to date has been unorganised and on the basis of individuals have had enough. It has been so effective many will never come back.

I doubt we would be able to sustain a formal boycott. We are still losing fans and those who remain will be the awkward rump and there will also be those who will follow Rovers whatever the situation (and I respect their choice).

What I do hear game after game is " what would be do without the V's, who else would buy the Club, without the V's funding us we would be worse off"......we need answers to these questions.

Venkys - ignorant

Bowyer - innocent

Myers - ill

It seems the only way to go is to make this about Shaw - a good old fashioned "Sack the board" campaign.

It gives us someone to vent at who, regardless of the perceptions, should be able to act. Does he have a reputation to lose? I'm not sure it can really get worse. He would surely not like it one bit though.

But even if he was made the scapegoat for the purpose of at least a small change, we don't have any voice left. This leaves a minority who can easily be picked off by the super fans.

There was a woman posted on Fb yesterday (sort of) apologising for hitting someone who was vocally up in arms about yesterday's game. Very contrite I'm sure but this is what they do. Blame other fans and try to intimidate them. Even more worryingly was other Fb posters who were defending her, calling her a 'true fan'. It's one thing getting behind the team but no true fan defends what is being done to our club. And by attacking someone who is attacking them, you are defending them.

I am still in pain after yesterday, or should I say after the last 5 years of the V's.

Last night I was angry.

This morning I am mellow but struggling with what exactly we can do except plan for a future and a time when the V's have gone.

The only thing I can do is support the Trust as a longer term aim and show my disquiet whenever I come across Shaw, and express my disappointment when I see GB. However they are not the root cause, they are symptoms.

If we are ever to do anything it MUST BE AIMED at the V's.

How do you break through a seemingly impenetrable wall of ignorance and stupidity PB?..people have tried but it evidently didn't even scratch the surface.

I have NEVER known a situation like this at a football club before.

Try being a Blackpool fan - they give us a good run for our money in the owners race. As for a way out of this mess - I see only one that would potentially work (though unlikely) sack Shaw and bring back John Williams. Williams would only come back on his terms - and that alone (even with the Raos owning the club) would unite the fan base. Unlikely to happen unfortunately.

So let me get this straight ...

The owners won't listen and there's no point in protesting, their business is impervious to it, and hurting their business is the only thing that would make them pay attention.

Derek shaw has a rhino hide, and still has his job despite all that happened during the court case, and defends his position in front of a fan's forum.

Gary Bowyer, if you start giving him grief during games, the more militant brothers intimidate you until you shut up.

Is it any wonder crowds are dwindling? We're being pulled down by incompetence. I couldn't blame anyone giving it up as a bad job.

If we don't go down this year I think we will next year, because it's almost certain Bowyer will still be in charge.

I cant really take much more

That just about sums it up Broadsword.

What was that saying in Dads Army: "Doomed, we are all doomed".

The only thing I can think of is a small group flying to Pune to try and get an audience with Madame. The meeting would not happen but we would get lots of TV and other media coverage here and in India.

A bloke at the q and a was getting angry saying this should be their main business - the reality is its small fry to them compared to their core business.

we are a failed side venture who they are now just letting run itself with little support or input just enough to keep ticking over.

Fans tried but I genuinely think now there is nothing the fans can do unless you have enough cash to make them an offer they can't refuse but I would imagine they even now would want to make a profit.
