[Archived] Is It Time To Protest Against Venkys?

I wonder how many other clubs in the Football League are in a similar position to us, getting suffocated by uncaring owners with little to no hope of any kind of change.

Maybe the solution is a join effort of protest against the real culprit, the FA that has allowed all this to happen, rather than hopeless dreams against owners.

Would that be the FA for allowing the takeover in the first place? Or not forcibly removing terrible owners? Or both?

The FA would just ignore it like they did last time.

Yes but before or after? I've already gone into legal action stuff on the recent lawsuit thread and don't want to drag that up again. Still feel there need to be question marks over Williams/Finn. For instance not being aware Venkys had no idea what relegation was. If the FA didn't see discrepancies in the takeover when perhaps nobody else saw them either. Of course it wasn't Williams/Finn selling the club but I can't help feeling they must have seen some warning signs considering the idiotic/clueless nature of Venkys. If they somehow felt the trustees were selling to the wrong people (could go any other matters as well but you can probably guess what that would be) couldn't they have come out publicly or resigned?

Didn't they know Anderson was an absolute snake and alert the trustees of this? Or did Allardyce not mention Anderson handing over a list of transfer targets at a meeting or his phone calls with Desai? One where BFS said she basically talked nonsense and another wanting to know what had gone wrong in that thrashing at Old Trafford (rightly bloody so too!) and telling her team needed investment. They fully endorsed the takeover until BFS was sacked and it wasn't as if there were no rumors he might be.

Someone also told me that in 2010 they heard Williams wasn't keen on Agnew. Yet they just let him do the programme (plus his "critically acclaimed" PR work) and "kept an eye" on him. There's been suggestions that media dealing with Agnew saw him as incompetent for years yet he was kept around. Glenn Pegden and Lee Grooby didn't have great relations with him and I'm assuming Kamy had pre takeover dealings with him too. Must add too that when Kean took over Williams referred to him as an "out and out football man" and a "true professional." Yet there were clear indications Kean/Anderson had orchestrated the whole situation straight away. Allardyce accused Kean directly on the phone of knowing. Did Williams believe Kean was a true professional or was HE just being professional as the club chairman? Since Williams later resigned as a matter of principle (plus his role basically becoming meaningless) I'll assume he wouldn't have spoken of Kean in such terms unless he believed it. Whether it was orders or not.

I'm not expecting these plausible questions to be answered (especially with the view that Williams is an infallible saint) but they should be. I know there are members of this messageboard who probably still speak to Williams. Kamy for instance who started a thread about questioning the trustees. Well I'm afraid "appreciation thread" for Williams or not (and why hasn't Bill Fox got one or any other tribute?) I would like to know these answers. Williams still has a NDA but Kamy said he won't speak out even when it expires. Well quiet dignity might be a positive trait in some ways but sometimes you have to throw some dirt around so to speak.

Anderson, Kean, Agnew, etc all absolute sharks and nobody saw them swimming right in front of their eyes. I said numerous times that there were probably sharks who might take advantage of the "nice family club feeling" (though debate over the term "family club" is another matter) and never let your guard down. People pretty much told me I was being paranoid and maybe so but it proved to be correct. Its no more paranoid than people claiming they could see Venkys were idiots first time they stepped on the pitch. Whoever owns/runs this club after Venkys (however long that might be) better learn a lesson from the clubs history of "being too nice." That "family club" tag has perhaps gone for good and in the future that might be for the best.

ALWAYS watch for the knife!

Allowing the takeover to happen. If Venkys and others like them so easily pass the FA's screening criteria, then obviously that criteria is vastly insufficient.

before vinjay says I don't say venkysout after a win...didn't post it last night as I had boxing on full screen and phone was flat..

WIN LOSE OR TIE VENKYS OUT BEFORE I DIE!!!!

I wasn't going to say that as your barracking of Venkys has been consistent no matter what.

Will definitely be waiting for you on this thread if Rovers win next weekend though lol!

Noticed another link to the Walkers on Saturday as the bins outside Ewood had "Neales waste management" displayed on them. Now I don't know who the hell Neal is but that company belongs to Richard Matthewman. So alongside Northcote's catering contract (another company involving Matthewman) they are clearly more than content to do business with Venkys. Ching ching!

Thing is Abs. We've fallen so far that no-one seems to feel it any more. "Just another team", "we played well", "looks good for next season".

I'm still so @#/? angry. That lot have done the double over us and our 34 years is a distant memory.

For me personally the message to Venkys is clear for next season......either back Lambert with hard cash and make your intention of promotion clear or take YOUR debt and feck off for good.

Right here, right now we are going nowhere,a big useless lump of a club with a 30k Stadium without aim or purpose.

WE THE FANS DEMAND BETTER...BACK THE MANAGER YOU EMPLOYED!!

You need to go and have a lie down, Mathewman resigned on the 4th July 2012. The original company name was Lethbridges. (if you really knew anything about the Walkers you would know the connection and why Lethbridge sold out and who came to the rescue)

They are probably using this company because of the competitive price and great service, the same reason I use them.

Not sure about any Lethbridge connection but the original company was owned by Len Neale who was a director at the Rovers in the 70s. Think it was styled L Neale & Son Ltd, or something similar. The son was at school with me, Exiled in Toronto and Arbitro amongst others on here. The business was situated on Queen Victoria Street, Mill Hill and the Neale family moved to the Isle of Man following the sale of their company.

Personally think we should just leave it for a while and actually concentrate on playing our own part in backing the manager/players and injecting some positivity into the club. Venkys have sacked Bowyer who needed sacking. They've then got us a good manager, a better manager than we could have expected given our league position and attendances. They've done that by promising him money to spend and giving him a large measure of control over his support staff and transfers. He's been allowed to bring players in on loan in January and there's no reason at this point to assume he won't be allowed to spend in the summer.

So why not take a positive outlook and assume they've finally learnt from their mistakes and now want to push the club in the right direction. As unpalatable as it sounds, its by far the easier and more reliable path to success if Venkys have changed and they are welcomed back into the fold. The alternative is them finding a buyer for the club which is extremely, extremely unlikely. Lets be honest, why on earth would anyone want to buy Rovers? The income generated by the fans is pitiful and if last night is anything to go by then bringing success does virtually nothing to improve that income. Rovers is an investors nightmare as a business, so us finding that rich guy who wants to lose quite a lot of money is going to be like finding a needle in a haystack. Basically the years-long effort the Walker Trust had in finding Venkys multiplied by at least 2 due to our lost PL television revenue. In my opinion its time to get real and give them another chance.
