JHRover Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Yes. Wonder what sort of following there will be. Last year was a great turn out for Rovers fans for a midweek friendly. £15 seems a bit steep for a pre-season game but I suppose Stanley need as much as they can get.

A lot of Stanley fans are staying away because the friendly has been played regularly and Rovers are not as big a fixture as they were.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted July 10, 2015 Moderation Lead Posted July 10, 2015 I'll be honest, despite living quite close I'm not bothering, I've been to Stanley many times before watching Rovers' pre-season games. I'll be going to Oldham I think though, new ground for me. Plus, a big weekend next weekend that I could do to save pennies for!!
chaddyrovers Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 I'm going. Expect around 500 Rovers fans to be there Not bothered about the ticket prices tbh. I think the other away pre season games are 10 pounds each
Backroom Madon Posted July 10, 2015 Backroom Posted July 10, 2015 I'll be there, hoping to see Ryan Nyambe as I've not seen him live yet and only heard good things about him, my mate plays for Stanley as well so looking forward to seeing how he does.
Jock Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Prenton Park next Friday night is £10, but there's the tunnel tax to factor in. Elton Welsby whatever happened to him?
arbitro Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 They can shove £15 up there greedy arses. I agree. Admission prices to pre season friendlies should be sensible and Accrington are exploiting the fact that Rovers will have a decent following. I think I am right in saying a season ticket at Ewood in some areas works out a lot less than this per game. Needless to say I won't be going.
windymiller7 Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Prenton Park next Friday night is £10, but there's the tunnel tax to factor in. Elton Welsby whatever happened to him? All of £1.70...........
Jock Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 All of £1.70...........There and back? One way is no good🚣
matt83 Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Shockingly expensive that. There's obviously no feel good factor, 5 years of misery and no light at the end of the tunnel etc etc. howvever, nice weather, 1st friendly, very local, still have a semblance of a team so I fully expect us to sell out that away terrace or as near as dam it plus several in the side stands. Might be ambitious but I'm going for 1,000-2,000 rovers.
tomphil Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 There's usually about 1k to 1.5k Rovers at the Accy friendlies and about 500 Stanley and a good few assorted Dingles hanging about going off past games.
Backroom Madon Posted July 10, 2015 Backroom Posted July 10, 2015 These are the 2 sides I'd like to see given 45 minutes each... Steele Nyambe Hanley Kilgallon Olsson Marshall Williamson O'Sullivan Conway Rhodes Brown ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Eastwood Henley Duffy Lenihan Spurr Green Evans Lowe Taylor Mahoney Gestede
joey_big_nose Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 I think Coker and Furman are in line to get a game. Who are Green and Mahoney?
LewisF Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Who are Green and Mahoney? Academy (been benched a few times for 1st team) players
Backroom Madon Posted July 10, 2015 Backroom Posted July 10, 2015 I think Coker and Furman are in line to get a game. Who are Green and Mahoney? You're right, I forgot about those... Green is a reserve winger who is supposedly faster than Theo Walcott. Connor Mahoney was signed from Stanley a couple of seasons ago and has only featured for the first team once (I think) as a second half substitute vs Man City in the cup.
LewisF Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Green is a reserve winger who is supposedly faster than Theo Walcott. Damn.... Get 'im on Bowyer!

Green is nowhere near that sort of pace. Can play up front or wide midfield. Mahoney was hugely disappointing last season and struggled to make much impression. Hopefully he'll improve this time out.
T J Hooker Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 To be fair Accrington do need all the money they can get, that said I wont be going(but if it was under a tenner I might have)
ABBEY Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 So do we and I wouldn't pay 15 at home for a friendly unless it was barca
chaddyrovers Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Abbey, can I ask why you think 15 pounds is too much to pay?
LewisF Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Abbey, can I ask why you think 15 pounds is too much to pay? I'm going anyway, but £15 for a friendly match against a League 2 side is slightly substantial in my opinion.
ABBEY Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Why ? Because it's a glorified kick about . Go on tell me Chaddy let me guess**siggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh** you think it's worth every penny
chaddyrovers Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Abbey, I was asking you. That was all. Thanks for reply.
