'I can’t wait to get going this season now. The gaffer told me that I was going to be involved at the end of last season to get me ready for this season and those appearances have made me hungrier than ever to play more games this year'.

Looking forward to seeing how this lad progresses. He's got talent and is fairly direct and quick. Hopefully he'll take his chance when he gets it.

(always good to have individual player threads rather than cluttering the other threads) :rover:

Can we ask where you saw him play, how many times, and who against, to draw this conclusion blueboy3333.

good luck to him and lets hope he does come through.

I do have misgivings about a lad that was on loan at Southport and Accy 12 months ago being of the standard required to get in the upper reaches of the Division. I think this could be a difficult year for all our youngsters because I think it will be a struggle to keep the team away from trouble.

but lets see what he has in his locker before judging

I know it's a big step up and people on here quite rightly worry about relying on the kids. However O'sullivan didn't look out of place last season and here's hoping he can progress. Big opportunity in midfield if good enough.

Can we ask where you saw him play, how many times, and who against, to draw this conclusion blueboy3333.

What conclusion? That he hopes he progresses?

We need him to take his chance. Our FFP limitations mean we must rely on a player or 2 making the grade in our first team

Not seen him outside a rovers shirt but I remember reading that Kinder raved about him.

Hopefully bowyer gives him a chance.

'Fairly direct and quick' - Leeds away, FL highlights.

In that he says he's quick and direct. Who was this against and how many times did he witness this to make his statement.

Don't know but I've got a mate who's a big Stanley fan who says the same. Completely different level and questionable how good his footballing attributes will be but he played every game at Accy and every game at Southport. Personally if we are starting with the same personnel next season I'd like to see him given a try for a couple of games than the players we have been trying in midfield for the last 18 months. No-one is saying he is the answer though.

Are you saying he's not?

I've honestly no idea, but that doesn't stop people having pretty strong opinions on players without having seen them play. In some cases without going to a game for over 3 years.

Go on then JAL, how many times have you seen him? What are his strengths and weaknesses? Good enough or not in your opinion?

I haven't seen him play but if he is anywhere as good as Lenihan then get him into the first team a.s.a.p.

May I remind you that David Beckham went on loan to PNE as a young lad and didn't do as well as expected. Of course his career went down the pan and no more was heard of him. Correct?

Just want to hear blueboy3333 tale of all the times he's seen him play and against who to put this up bob.

I wonder what is best position is?

Is it centre midfield or on the wing or the number 10 role?

I think it could number 10 role in 4-2-3-1 formation

Chaddy, why have you asked a question (suggesting you have no idea) and then answered it (suggesting that you do know)?

His position through the youth system was mainly as a no.10 but I think he's too lightweight at present for that in this league, can see him being played on the wing until he bulks up a bit.

I didn't say i had but i'll humour you:-

I work with someone who follows Southport all over and he said he was a revelation for them(he also said the same about Raya a good while before he excelled against Derby in the FA Cup), got a mate who watches Accy and he said the same, he also did well at Barnsley last season in League 1, well enough for them to bid £250k. PNE were also interested in him last season. Seen him a few times on the FL show scoring some crackers for Accy.

Haven't seen him in the flesh, apart from the brief cameo he made against Everton in pre-season a couple of seasons back, but the people mentioned above had no reason to lie. Doing well in League 1 suggests he isn't far from the standard needed to do well in the Championship - plenty of other players have made the jump successfully.

Let's hope he does well and we sign him up for a bit longer, he's only on a 1-year deal.

i think that's where he's played for the teams he's been on loan at, certainly Southport and pretty sure Barnsley and Accy too.

It's a good question, although possibly rhetorical. Or is it? Don't answer that. Anyway, moving on...

All I know is that this guy has barely kicked a ball for the first team and I can't wait to declare him the best thing since sliced bread or right him off completely with a sentence that begins "It goes to show how far we've fallen..." If only someone, anyone, had seen him play though, how am I supposed to form an ill informed opinion without at least taking in at least one posters opinion?

One things for sure it's bound not to be good. Nothing's been good since 2010. Nothing. Sometimes I can barely muster the strength to come on here and feel sorry for myself. I did smile once back in 2012 though. But that just made me more depressed and made me hanker back to the good old days of Goulon, Grella and Grabbi. Back in the days when every signing was a gem.

Anyway, John O'Sullivan, all the very best to him.

Think for humoured yourself blueboy3333 once more in an open admission of never seeing him play yet posted for the good of it.

Thank you

I watched him about 4 times at Stanley last season, he was on another level to everybody else. It was League 2 but he certainly has talent, just hope he cuts it in the Championship... huge year for him.

Looking forward to seeing this lad have a right good go, hopefully in his correct position and if he proves good enough then Bowyer should hail him magnificent and he should keep the shirt. Even at the expense of one of the favs if he's good enough :rover:
