Well I hate to break it to you but that's the general perception of americans had by the rest of the world(all be it slightly exaggerated for comedy effect)

americans need to learn to just chill the hell out, put the coffee down and learn to make and appreciate a good brew and stop taking themselves so seriously

Looks like he's on about stereotypes to me, hardly like he's saying 'every American is xyz'. Perhaps shouldn't have been expressed in the way it was, but as this thread hasn't been that popular the last few days, it slipped though the net.

Given the clamour for consistency from some, it has to be pointed out - however clichéd - that anybody posting 'stereotypes' about any of the UK-recognised PC-protected traits would soon by jumped on...

Nobody reported it as it happens, if that had happened it would have been dealt with straight away. Sometimes things will be missed. All the moderation team work full time as well so we can't see everything sadly.

Also im not sure where you're coming from because these threads are usually full of coments from the usual suspecs about muslims and "none natives" that arent even meant light heartedly or in jest at all and are purely made out of hatred and the majority of those also dont get deleted.

Im not mathred either way, im just pointing out that your simply wrong to be complaing about double standards on here.

It really isn't though, in those circumstances it was. There have been other circumstances where if it had been hate/bigotry (i.e. all Americans are a negative stereotype) then it would have been dealt with.

when i sarw the reortds this morning they said 20 dead and i thought that was bad enough, but 50!!! and probably 50 of the nicest most harmless people that you could meet I imagine(considering the venue)

plenty of intelligent nut jobs, most of the well known evil(for want of a better word) dictators and terrorist leaders where/are very clever people i imagine and theres also loads of isolated cases of brilliant geniuses cracking up or living with serious mental health issues
