So the evidence for the first argument is he had "no known links" to IS and the evidence for the second is utterly non-existent apart from someone saying so.

I haven't put forward any argument one way or the other. It's a news story this is what the Munich authorities are saying.

It says "no connection to IS" not no connection to Islam.

...... and people wonder why I try to chose my words very carefully!!! 😀

Slip of the keyboard - no connection to IS not Islam

We'll see where he got his weapons from and what kind they are, that plays a role too. I have no idea what the gun laws would be in Germany.

Rock and a hard place with Erdogan as happens, elected democratically, check out the Palace I guess he built for himself.

He has Iranian blood. That's good enough for me.

Living in the north of England it's likely you'll have Danish / Nordic / Viking blood.

Are you doing a spot of raping and pillaging tonight ?

Moving story here; one of the witnesses to the shooting comforted a dying boy.

Huseyin Bayri, 29, who was at the Olympia Einkaufszentrum when an 18-year-old gunman opened fire Friday evening, told reporters that he held a teenager who was shot and comforted him as the victim succumbed to his wounds. All the while, Bayri was thinking he would be next as the shooter came closer.

"I saw the boy beside me — I didn't know him but I took him straight to my heart — had fallen down," Bayri said. The boy was shot three times, he said.

"I tried to keep his wounds shut while the attacker was still shooting. The shots were getting closer. And I thought to myself: 'This is it. Now you're next, Huseyin,'" Bayri said.

Bayri said he tried to comfort the boy, asking him his name, where he lived, and whether he had a girlfriend.

"'Your injuries aren't that bad, brother,' I said to him. 'The ambulance is already on its way. Don't worry, everything will work out.' Then he died in my arms," Bayri said.

Bayri is haunted by the boy's final words. "I can't get those words out of my head: 'Please help me, please help me.'"

Bayri said he heard the shooter yell "I will kill you all" and "I am German" before the first shots rang out.

Beats killing. What a stupid post Jim. You are better than that. Nothing wrong with Viking blood.

I'd like to know what you meant by the Iranian blood comment, like ultra blue.

You know damned well what I mean as does ultra blue but OK if you want me to spell it out he is probably Muslim. Happy now?

No since, I have no idea what his Iranian blood has to do with his religion or crimes?

I was reading the story about the guy in Munich. He was obsessed with Anders Breivik (the guy who committed the atrocity in Norway), who incidentally committed his atrocity in retaliation to Islam. This geezer in Munich was someone who'd been bullied and had mental health issues, it doesn't need to be made into something it isn't.

Don't be obtuse. You knew all along what I meant and you also know that he is probably Muslim. You just wanted to make me spell it out and I have done and am not embarrassed to do so because it has in all probability got everything to do with the shootings. Of course you will say the opposite as you always do.

As Kenny said above.

I genuinely had no idea what the reference was, I'm not suggesting you should be embarrassed either?

Why does it always come back to insults. Probably time to log off.

If the shootings were anti Muslim that is just as bad and still to do with religion but that is just conjecture. Either way it is just evil. Now try to say the opposite of that!

Al can you stop this opposite wind up please, it's not necessary. It's really annoying.

I agree with the key word, Evil. I also think ALL religion is brain washing, each to their own though as long as those who chose to be religious don't impact me. That's my view! Not too dissimilar.

Agreed. There you see we can agree on things if we try. :)

Looks like several of the victims were Muslim and he was too. Basically he's just a very sad character who decided to go on a shooting spree like we see in america far too often. Create a climate for violence and violence will spring up. Its only to do with religion in that religion is convenient for people to use to justify whatever warped and twisted views they hold. Im considered a religious person. I go to church and I preach in my churches. I wouldn't use it to justify killing anyone and nor would most of the hindus, sikhs, muslims or christians I know. Nor would most of the atheists of agnostics either. Nor any of those I know who follow other minority faith paths for want of a better word. Most people of whatever creed or colour, faith or lack of it, race or whatever are decent and non violent unless pushed to very extreme circumstances. To suggest that because this guy is a muslim, you are not surprised by his actions is strange. I am always surprised and disgusted by violence, wherever it happens and whoever perpetrates it.(Can I add I don't know any Buddhists but as I understand it they aren't even supposed to kill insects, so I doubt theyd condone violence either)

Nothing wrong with Iranian either, or Muslim. But don't let that affect your prejudices.
