That's the most sinister, disturbing and morally hideously ugly thing about it. Thousands of men in multiple cities across Germany putting together a carefully coordinated plan to attack women of a certain ethnicity/culture.

Echoes of the behaviour of IS?

There's a lot of people out there right now who should be feeling very foolish, and probably quite guilty. Left-wing media like the BBC more than anyone for insisting on the term refugees over migrants from the start of this debacle. Refugees do not attack their saviours en masse, are not comprised of 90% adult men, and do not travel through numerous safe countries before deciding to stop. I mean flipping heck, the facts have been there from the start that a large majority are not from Syria.

Thank god the Tories were in and not Labour is all I can say. You can absolutely guarantee that what happened in Germany would have happened here otherwise.

This sort of stupidity has to be challenged.

First, the lazy myth that the BBC is a left wing organisation. The Beeb depends on funding from the licence fee and has leant towards whichever govt happens to be in power. At the moment it is under attack from Whittingdale who wants to to shrink the size of the BBC as a result of which it is bending over backwards to be nice to this Tory government and giving it an easy ride on all the big issues. The idiotic Whittingdale does not realise that the BBC is regarded as beacon of journalistic and broadcasting standards around the globe and is a standard bearer for Britain.

The BBC's political output has been more right wing than left wing for years. Former chief political correspondent Nick Robinson was chairman of the Conservative Union at Oxford university, his deputy James Lansdale went to Eton and is a contemporary of Dodgy Dave so is unlikely to be a rapid socialist and another political heavyweight, Andrew Neill, is a former Tory party actvist and former editor of the Tory-supporting Sunday Times. The morning news conference at the BBC takes its agenda from the Daily Hate Mail - and if you doubt that just listen to the discussions of Radio 2 and 4 and compare them with the stories in the Mail.

Second, immigration under the Tories and the previous coalition govt has been higher than when they pledged to cut in 2010 - despite the promises of May and Cameron. Now I happen to think that's a good thing but it makes a complete nonsense of your statement. The "absolute guarantee that what happened in Germany would have happened here" is speculative drivel.

You were doing OK until " left wing media like the BBC ". The BBC had the hard word from the Tories right after the election and have been running @#/? scared ever since. Do you everlisten to Laura Kuensberg etc ?

This upsets me if Saudi Arabia actually executes people in this manner, I've heard about cutting hands off since I was a kid but:

Prisoners arrested when they were children and others suffering from mental illness were among dozens of inmates recently executed in Saudi Arabia, exclusive sources in the kingdom have told Middle East Eye.

....

Four of the 43 were convicted of banditry, a crime that is punished in Saudi Arabia by having alternate limbs cut off on opposite sides of the body, followed by beheading and the display of the corpse.

Pretty sick.

I have problems formatting some of the stories, so the above is from the quoted article.

Either Saudi Arabia is becoming increasingly deranged or people just didn't notice until they became the number one suspect for funding IS. Either way I'd say they're fast overtaking North Korea as the most dangerous country on the planet. Pretty insane to think we've been supplying their military for years, however much money it's made us. Think that's what's called selling your soul to the devil.

Immigration a good thing ? Would you say that if it was your wife or daughter being raped ?

Controlled and evaluated immigration is a good thing, Abbey. The problem is, we're doing a poor job controlling and evaluating it.

Depends on where one stands. From my perspective, the BBC is very left wing.

Sky reporting a gun attack on tourists in the Eygption Sea..

When will it end and what will it take to rouse the left wing?

Cup of tea ?

Islamic extremist tried to murder a copper in Philadelphia on the news too. It will end in either worldwide subjugation to conservative Sunni Muslims or when the liberal Muslims start to overcome them.

In the long term it's not a battle that can be won through any form or amount of force. To use the much-repeated saying it's a battle for "hearts and minds".

The frontline is issues like the one Audax highlighted earlier today. The Northern Council of Mosques opposing the government's regulation of Madrassas. Why are they doing that? Because they don't want their children being lured into liberalism by a non-Islamic centered education. It's the same reason honour killings are performed and girls from an early age are made to wear the veil.

You know full well that immigration from outside the EU has been controlled, it can't be controlled in the EU because of freedom of movement, still we can put them all in the empty countryside as you described it

Well why not of they are truly fleeing persecution ? Build them a farm with a load of agricultural tools and a sack of seeds.

And a bloody big mobile phone mast so they can text their mates back home "don't bother coming, it's sh*t"

I was amused by this article from Breitbart. Various left leaning pundits excuses to avoid drawing a connection between young immigrant males and the epidemic of sexual assault.

1. It was a false flag operation designed to discredit innocent lovely immigrants.

2. You can’t talk about these things because it encourages the ‘Far Right’

3. Rape is only a ‘thing’ when white people do it

4. Ooh look some cute kids! And they’re Syrian refugees!!!

5. Nothing to do with Islam. It’s because all men are rapists, obviously

Head in the sand, the lot of them.

At some point, the right wing and left wing will stop blaming each other. It's getting frankly embarrassing in any case.

I think that will happen when they agree to collect and drill down on the data. These behaviors are not indicative of the entire religion. However, it is systematic enough that we need to begin to figure out which subsets of the religion, from which geographic locale and from which tribes condone this type of behavior. There are probably other data points that need looking at also. Once that's complete, we can set up the filters needed to ensure these things don't happen again. Once these behaviors are things of the past, and those who are allowed to come in either as refugees or immigrants become productive, law abiding and committed citizens, then I think immigration will be viewed as a positive on both sides of the aisle.

But opening the floodgates will only lead to strife and conflict. Someone will be in tears at the end of the day, most likely the innocents on both sides.

If this isn't to happen again in the future, then the West & Russia need to sort out the mess of their varying policies in the middle east, and build a lasting peace that isn't just based on what is best for their own particular economic policy.

The vast majority of these people wouldn't be in Europe, bar for the shambles that gave room for the rise of IS.

Sorting out the Middle East is an awfully big ask. The West has been at it for over a century and gotten nowhere. In fact, I don't think it's ever truly been at peace since the time of Mohammed. If they aren't slaughtering each other, they're slaughtering Westerners.

And the vast majority of these people wouldn't be in Europe but for the idiocy of Merkel and Co. inviting them in.

The vast majority wouldn't be in Europe at all if they had a safe homeland. That's the real cause.
