Reports say the lone hijacker wants to talk to his estranged Cypriot wife, who is now on the way to the airport.

Not sure I see the comedy myself, a terrifying incident for all involved and a huge expense for Egypt and Cyprus. I think that's a point that's often missed with terrorism. Next time there are complaints about public spending cuts, think of the huge and rising financial costs of dealing with incidents like these.

And to be honest I lay stuff like this at the door of conventional Islamic terrorists. They're waging a war largely based on media exposure, so its their fault (and the media's I suppose) for the ******* idiots out there who latch on to the idea and copycat it.

Personally think the deranged attention-seeking a-hole should be doing hard labour for the rest of his life so he can pay off about 10% of what he's cost the taxpayers of those 2 countries. Then next time some selfish prat wants to come up with an asinine plan to solve their pathetic love life, they'll restrict themselves to sending too many texts instead of deciding to imitate the most disgusting form of combat after nukes there is.

If anyone is to be feared it's the far-left. They pretty much want what '*the government want' in most cases - that being - complete division amongst the people (massively pushed through on religious grounds in recent times) a climate of fear, less freedom of speech (Newspeak) etc.
