Disappointed that my pertinent post on this thread was removed. Proving Abbey's point even further.

I imagine this post will be removed too.

We will never move forward while only one side of the debate is allowed and comments which look to address the balance are removed. You are just hiding the problem, literally and figuratively.

As mentioned, if posters didn't insult one another, then perfectly good posts get deleted to when the offensive post is quoted. I suspect you got unlucky.

I get notifications when somebody replies to one of my posts. Looks like another TJ reply has gone in the last ten minutes.

The bit in bold is exactly the problem. Too easy.

You have no idea the abuse that all shopkeepers get regardless of colour/religion, yet you make out like you do because of your own biases. There are plenty of well respected and much loved Muslim pillars of society - people respected by non-Muslims and vice versa. The real problem is the self-entitled mentality and low self-esteem of the perpetrators, not the ethnicity of the victims. Those types of people will put ANYONE down to try to take the spotlight off their own inadequacies but when it's against Muslims they get called racists.

It's about time that word was banned, as it clouds the issue. People should be called what they are: bullies. Then we can deal with it. Whilst they get called racists it prevents the real problems being addressed because it focuses on compartmentalising the victims rather than properly dealing with the wider issues concerning the aggressors. It's also very easy for people to take sides rather than allow universal condemnation of the idiots.

If I could like this post a million times, I would.

Yep, because it broke guidelines.

When the mb gets handed over, I think we'll have to consider harsh banning again no matter if it upsets the few that ruin it for the many.

so your saying when an asian person receives racist insults from a non asian its just bullying but when a non asian person receives racist insults from an asian(or whoever) then its racism, though really its irrelevant, my main point was that if the shopkeeper in this case was white he wouldn't be receiving any abuse.

Actually i dont know why I or anybody with a similar outlook to mine even bothering talking about the subject on here- 4c92639b4481d520cc528ca8b5a32acd.jpg

His point is more that instead of using the term 'racist' (which instantly labels both parties and is divisive), wr should refer to all incidents of bullying (whether that be racism, homophobia, transphobia, ageism, sexism, ableism etc) as just that: Bullying.

abuse is abuse call it what you want, although if your discriminating(or what you see as bullying) somebody because of the colour of their skin or their ethnicity then that is technically racist abuse whether you like the term or not(does it mean the abusive person is genuinely racist? not necessarily, but that's another discussion)

as I've said, my point in this case was that this shopkeeper 100% would not be receiving abuse of any kind so regularly(if at all) if he was white.

Indeed. Just made that very suggestion to the other mods. I'm extremely angry that I've just been accused of being 'part of the problem'.

I need a lie down.

Sorry but you are no innocent and just because you are now a mod(by your own request) shouldnt mean that you are entitle to be condescending or to use double standards when it suits you.

I expect ill now be banned for sharing my opinion, so if this is my last post then congratulations.

What a difference a couple of years makes.

When you first arrived on this site posting absolute bobbins day in day out Mike backed you up time and time again, now you're attacking the lad and dishing out 'advice'

I'm not getting involved in the squabbling, you've come along way in terms of posting content, but have a bit of respect TJ or at least some self awareness.

I'd also like to add that Al in my opinion has every right to air his views and opinions with regards to Asians moving into the town and changing the landscape and culture in his part of the town. I may not agree with much of what Al posts, I certainly don't, but Al lived right in the middle of the Asian area and felt forced out, thats very sad in my opinion and he wasn't alone, hence Blackburns 'white flight' issues.

Its about time people on both sides of the argument felt able to air views without being branded racist.

Give over I'm not "attacking" anybody, its a discusion and i thought we where all grown ups on here so should be able to handle a little criticism even if they dont agree with it, i get criticism from friends and people i care about and i also sometimes criticise them when i feel it nesasary it doesnt mean i dont like them or care for them any less than i originally did.

also what you consider "bobbins" others may not.

Think i best go have a rest for the day(or maybe longer it seemms....... Ha)

Very serious news nowadays, putting other stories in perspective:

But this one is interesting:

British doctor alleges he doped 150 sportsmen

LONDON (Reuters) - A British doctor has alleged that he prescribed banned performance-enhancing drugs to 150 sportsmen including several Premier League footballers, according to a Sunday Times report.

The paper said Dr Mark Bonar claimed his "clients" included an England cricketer, British Tour de France cyclists, a British boxing champion, tennis players and martial arts competitors as well as footballers.

In the past six years he has treated more than 150 sportsmen from the UK and abroad with banned substances such as erythropoietin (EPO), steroids and human growth hormone, and the performance improvements were "phenomenal", the report added.

Neither the newspaper nor Reuters was able to substantiate the claims made by the doctor but the news is likely to cast a further shadow on the sporting world ahead of the Rio Olympics in August.
