Backroom Tom Posted March 12, 2016 Backroom Posted March 12, 2016 Why ? For example st Charles was shut , pathetic really cars drive past it safely all day long . Do schools shut in Sweden ? Because I agree with it therefore the correct decision let the little ins have some fun in the snow we don't get it often
ABBEY Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Let them play after school oops silly me the Avalanche and 10foot drifts had melted and the snowman was a puddle
Dean Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Why ? For example st Charles was shut , pathetic really cars drive past it safely all day long . Do schools shut in Sweden ? No, of course they don't. It's an economic necessity for them to have the capability to clear snow from the roads and keep the country running through that weather. It has been looked at here. Because it's so infrequent, the amount it would cost to get the equipment and have it on standby is more than the money we lose due to snow days.
Dean Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Snow way was it bad enough to close schools Bet you didn't think that way when you were at school!
ABBEY Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 I did .. I hated and still hate snow .. It's satans snot

ABBEY Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 Gotta go London on Tuesday for an emergency hospital appointment for the Mrs . I said lets go on the train (always drive ) . Jim is always saying use public transport, well bloody hell fire it's extremely expensive to say the least . It is cheaper to go Tenerife for a week . Needless to say driving Monday afternoon when school finishes and staying in Edgware and if time Chinese in china town . Public transport .. My arse It's the transport for minted millionaires.
Backroom Tom Posted March 17, 2016 Backroom Posted March 17, 2016 We've done it before on the cheap but last minute it's insane prices. Took me near 6 hours on the train last week due to what amounted to large puddles at Rugby

Hopefully you have done the delay-repay also?? If you book about 6 weeks in advance you can get first class for around £40. Anything less than a week and you may as well just fly down!
