No, of course they don't. It's an economic necessity for them to have the capability to clear snow from the roads and keep the country running through that weather.

It has been looked at here. Because it's so infrequent, the amount it would cost to get the equipment and have it on standby is more than the money we lose due to snow days.

I did .. I hated and still hate snow .. It's satans snot

Kinda felt the same until I went to Norway and Sweden a couple of months ago. Snowmobiling up a mountain in pitch black was one of the best things I've done.

Bet you didn't think that way when you were at school! :)

63, snow for weeks and deep, like a couple of feet, still cycled to school from West End to St Thomas's in Blackburn.

Yep, did the cycle proficiency test in the front playground, Mr Rothwell was the head teacher at the time.

Rovers played one game between the 22nd of December and the 2nd of March that winter.

Hadn't started attending then, 1965 1st game against manure at home.

Wow, was that the 5-0 loss or the 4-1 loss ? Good on ya for going again.

0 - 5

Got passed over the heads of the crowd in the BBE and sat on the red track on the Riverside about 3 or 4 yards from the BBE, jumped up one time and cracked the older bro under the chin !

Gotta go London on Tuesday for an emergency hospital appointment for the Mrs . I said lets go on the train (always drive ) . Jim is always saying use public transport, well bloody hell fire it's extremely expensive to say the least .

It is cheaper to go Tenerife for a week .

Needless to say driving Monday afternoon when school finishes and staying in Edgware and if time Chinese in china town .

Public transport .. My arse

It's the transport for minted millionaires.

We've done it before on the cheap but last minute it's insane prices.

Took me near 6 hours on the train last week due to what amounted to large puddles at Rugby

You might have been on the same train as me! 07.58 Preston to Euston??

Hopefully you have done the delay-repay also??

If you book about 6 weeks in advance you can get first class for around £40. Anything less than a week and you may as well just fly down!
