RevidgeBlue Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Steady on Tom, Sacha will be getting jealous you fickle mistress you.
Backroom Tom Posted July 21, 2015 Author Backroom Posted July 21, 2015 He can hit a ball hard And head a ball too!
LDRover Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Looks like he's spent most of his career in the top league in France. On face value that would appear decent enough.
blueboy3333 Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Sacrebleu! Tom's got two French Fancies to nibble on now. Koita looks quick and strong on those clips and if he's spent all his time in the French 1st then he's obviously got talent.

TBH good prove very decent as played at a top level against some of Frances big sides but his record is hardly prolific so it's wait and see
1864roverite Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 I have never seen Browny run like that, nor have I ever seen him unleash a left footer like that either!
RevidgeBlue Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 I have never seen Browny run like that, nor have I ever seen him unleash a left footer like that either! But the 64m dollar question is: Is he as good as Varney? Lol.
onlyonejackwalker Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 It's all happening. Good luck to the lad and I hope he enjoys his time with the club. Can only wait and see.
rovers11 Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Pace can go a long way in the league, even if it's just to create space for other players. Quietly confident about this signing. Hopefully Kim next, then Maguire, then Henry back on loan (maybe Furman as well).
Mike Graham Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 These frenchies won't like the cold up em. Blackburn in January and February.....they will be asking for a transfer.
Commondore Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Good to get two players of the same nationality, reduces the risk of them not settling well. We're obviously rummaging around in the darkest corners of the bargain basement with these signings, but at least they play positions where we need new blood. Can we get a specialist right back now please?
West Yorks Rover Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 These frenchies won't like the cold up em. Blackburn in January and February.....they will be asking for a transfer. It's damp that'll get em !
Blueandwhitemike Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Sacha may be a cheap punt but Fode has a proper background, Ligue 1 isn't great but he might well prove very handy at championship level. In his interview he emphasised he was a team player, in answer to a question about goals, which i found encouraging.
AggyBlue Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 It's damp that'll get em ! Waterproof vests, gloves and balaclavas should do the trick
Iceman Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Yeh think he will contribute alot more on and off the ball than Brown. Will probably score more than Brown as well.
Neal Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Bit of research shows that this lad is NOT a striker... Despite the club embarrasingly announcing him as a striker. Last four games of the season in which he started were all out on the wing and Caen were unbeaten winning 2 and drawing 2, Koita getting one assist and playing every minute of those games. Perhaps joining us in ok form. Chelsea it appears were scouting him for around 6 million 2-3 seasons ago so perhaps has some unfilfilled potential that he can hopefully fulfill here.
Backroom Tom Posted July 21, 2015 Author Backroom Posted July 21, 2015 Quietly hopeful that he will be good for us seems to have the raw talent
Tim Southampton Rover Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Bit of info on the lad from a football statistics website (looks like they stole it from Football Manager) Bengali-Fodé Koita's Characteristics + Strengths Aerial Duels Very Strong Through balls Strong Dribbling Strong - Weaknesses Crossing Very Weak Finishing Weak Defensive contribution Weak Bengali-Fodé Koita's Style of PlayLikes to do layoffs Likes to do flick ons Indirect set-piece threat Gets fouled often Likes to cut inside Does not dive into tackles And this taken from the French Wikipedia When he was trained in Montpellier , he played as a pure scorer. But since coming to SM Caen , his offensive palette is elongated, which may progress on all fronts of the attack, especially at peak than at the sides. It has a good technique, fast and powerful. On the right-hander usually arriving in Caen allowed him to know as well take the right foot than left foot, hence the possibility of moving to all positions of the attack. However, it suffers from a lack of stamina and is struggling to stay for 90 minutes on the ground, despite a clear improvement since his arrival.
Mr. E Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Well, transfer embargo and not, it's nice to see we haven't given up our aspirations to be a second (or third, or fourth?) chance charity organization. Who else is picking up players from the French third division?
bluebruce Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Sacha may be a cheap punt but Fode has a proper background, Ligue 1 isn't great but he might well prove very handy at championship level. In his interview he emphasised he was a team player, in answer to a question about goals, which i found encouraging. True. But mind you, I'd emphasise I was a team player if I was a striker with that scoring record too!! No worse than Rudy's was, mind.

Think you're off the mark there. He's been described as one who can play as striker and winger on here even before he signed.
