As usual the rules will only apply to particular clubs, and as such Rovers will suffer as a result. You can guarantee that Fifa ranking wouldn't be an issue if Chelsea or Man City were signing a world class striker for £30 million. I'm struggling to understand what the difference is just because we are a division below.

The difference is they make exceptions for the most talented, if Messi was from Tonga he'd have no problem getting a work permit. If I remember right that is true for most fields, like top doctors or engineers etc.

Ridiculous set of rules though, we are under embargo so have to scratch around for some imaginative signings.

We look to find one and could be scuppered by more silly rules.

Interesting that GB is at the Barnsley v Boro game tonight !!

Take Your pick .....

Boro starting XI: Mejias, Nsue, Fry, Gibson, Husband, Clayton, Maloney, Adomah, Wildschut, Fabbrini, Kike.

subs in full: Konstantopoulos, Ripley, Ayala, Leadbitter, Tomlin, Carayol, Jackson, Kalas, Forshaw, Reach.

Probably looking at which player/players he can take as part of the Rhodes deal.

Wildshutt and Husband apparently.

That Wildshutt is a very similar player to King.

But is he any good at football?

Just been on Kim Bo Kyung's wikipedia page and someone has updated it so that he is now playing for Anorthosis Famagusta in Cyprus.

Might not be anything in it, but perhaps an indication he hasn't got a permit and has gone abroad?

Sickening if true.

And how do you grade the 'most talented'?

Surely someone who was recently playing in the Premier League, won a medal at the Olympic Games and was/is a regular member of his international squad, earning a salary any engineer or doctor could only dream of, puts him in a good position?

Its just an excuse to enable the top clubs to do as they please whilst those further down are restricted and punished. Welcome to the land of equality.

Apparently Wildshut wasn't supposed to be even playing for them tonight, perhaps this has some legs regarding Rhodes...

I wouldn't want any of Middlesbrough's players as part of any deal. The only possible positive to Rhodes going would be the outrageous fee would virtually guarantee the lifting of the embargo in the near future and also guarantee (in theory) that Middlesbrough would get slapped with one next season if they didnt go up (won't happen because the FL won't upset Steve Gibson, such a great bloke)

If we are relenting and selling Rhodes we need to ensure that we take them for as much cash up front as possible, and not make life easier for them by taking player(s) in exchange meaning the deal is more affordable for them.

Whats Wildschutt's value anyways in terms of being tagged in the transfer given he has hardly played at M'Boro and arrived on a free. 200K?

Not necessarily. Taking players like Wildshut and Husband could leave us stronger in the league and potentially have some resale value... Boro fans seem to rate Wildshut as one for the future.

Yeah can't be talking big money there...

Not only that but why would we need another left back in Husband? I rate Olsson tbh.

Unless he can cover various positions...

I don't think they would improve us one iota though.

Taking up valuable squad numbers if anything considering the loan market will be freeing up in the next week or two.

Trouble is that we seem goosed on the loan front. Prem clubs are now asking for loan fees ala Sam Gallagher. As if paying their wages and giving them match exposure isn't enough!
