Baz Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 I thought you didn't judge a player until he'd played 20 games? Doesnt take a genius to figure out which is likely to be a better player though does it PB? I have been Bowyers biggest critic. However, considering how he has handled an extremely difficult situation at Rovers; egos, Money, internal politics, FFP and budget cuts whilst keeping us competive and hardworking, my guess is that he is fast developing into a fine manager. I just hope we don't all only realise it when he's gone. Fine manager? At most clubs he wouldn't have been in the running to get the gig, and certainly wouldn't still be in place by now given the regression. Sure he's a nice guy, but Id sooner have an winner with a chip on his shoulder.
Backroom Mike E Posted July 29, 2015 Backroom Posted July 29, 2015 By the way its fans like you, mani, etc that are part of the reason we are in this situation, accepting things as they are, I bet you didn't show any fight when we were going down the shitter, i showed some fight and now we are in the abyss, so carry on hanging on every word i say and pretend everything is rosy in the garden It's no fan's fault. Get a ladder and get over yourself.
roverandout Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 I've been reading your posts for a while now and I see/read nothing that deserves an intelligent response blueboy TBH. But thanks for your interests in my thoughts. Don't say that, you'll have blueboy stalking you now

roverandout Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Well what can I do now? Done all the protests but if they start again, I will be there
RevidgeBlue Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 [quote name="Mani" post="1555379" Venkys are useless but you can't honestly want them to walk right now? If so then you know as well as me that we won't be talking about Nathan Delfounso and Danny Guthrie. We'll likely be talking about loans from Radcliffe Borough if we even exist!! Amen to that.
Don Said Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Probably nout, and same here, but without doing anything you're wasting your own time blaming those doing as much as you and the rest of us!
roverandout Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Fair enough but I was mainly blaming them past-tense
joey_big_nose Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 By my reckoning if we get Guthrie at least one centre mid needs to go, arguably two. We will have Lowe, Williamson, Evans, Lenihan, Guthrie, Peschi. Tomlinson seems on the fringe also. So 6 (7 including Tomlinson) competing for at most two first XI spots. Meanwhile we have only 3 centre backs and 4 strikers (two of whom wish to get out of Dodge). Out of that lot surely one for the boot is Evans.

I just hope we don't all only realise it when he's gone. Have to disagree with this though. I struggle tosee how Bowyer's managerial stock has gone up, Imo we've been going backwards on the pitch and individually most of the players have as well. Venky's are currently dropping 20m+ p.a. without seemingly batting an eyelid, and allow the manager to keep his best players despite the financial situation, but where they're going wrong is in not having a manager who can deliver good enough results on the pitch.Off it GB'S deadpan laid back demeanour and apparent willingness to do anything he's told might be enough to keep the internal politics of the Club ticking over, but I can't say he's shown any real sign of ability on the pitch.
thenodrog Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Give over Simon, you're old school and should be up in arms about the idiots ruining the club. Venkys are doing nothing right, they're systematically ruining the club and the town, lets grow some balls and get rid of these idiots. 'and the town'? Thats damned harsh! I doubt even Abbey will go along with that. Castle and Straw and generations under a Labour Council did that long before the venkys were ever heard of. As for BRFC I recall the Council hindering rather than helping the club time after time.
thenodrog Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Hanging on the half-baked stories of Alan Nixon doesn't make any sense. If you like fairytales why not try reading the Tory manifesto ? At least half the promises have been broken already. Speaking of breaking pledges.... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/ed-miliband/11650550/Labour-to-destroy-Ed-Stone.html Under Venkys we have gone from chasing Lewandowski to potentially bagging Delfouneso on a free, That one sentence shows where we are currently at, in rapido time. ALL because they refuse to appoint experienced people with the correct acumen in key positions Wrong... it's cos they sacked them I've been reading your posts for a while now and I see/read nothing that deserves an intelligent response blueboy TBH. Just as well eh Gav?

He has coped with a lot of shenanigans though.

You don't turn into a "fine manager" during the pre-season following an underwhelming season.

Hope this one comes off as we need someone in midfield who can pass the ball with purpose. Bit of a worry that Reading relesed him though, at 28 he should be in his prime. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/13507205.Fear_that_new_work_permit_rules_will_scupper_Blackburn_Rovers__bid_to_sign_Kim_Bo_Kyung/?ref=mac Kim decision today...and Bowyer wants pace out wide.
Mani Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Fine manager, funniest post of the day Please maintain context... "Developing into a fine manager" is what I said. Remember, he's only 3yrs in. He's dealt well with challenges that many 'experienced' managers have not. Have to disagree with this though. I struggle tosee how Bowyer's managerial stock has gone up, Imo we've been going backwards on the pitch and individually most of the players have as well. Fair point, respect your opinion.
Mani Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Biggest critic ?? Come on Paul, your relationship with short has certainly in last 12 months clouded your opinion . You spend most of your time now justifying everything they do, including Bowyer. Not to get into a pissing competition but your 1% knowledge of the bigger picture is dilusional. Many who frequent this board including myself were rovers fans long before jack walker came, saw hard times , but you cannot wipe away the past like it never happened. Rovers were a well run club after Jack and sadly he missed our promotion , he missed our league cup win, but he left us a club to be proud of. I always say it how it is , good or bad, Delfouneso? Give me a break , surely you are not pinning your hopes on him to score the goals to keep us up, or push for promotion? Haha 1%??? Well if you call direct and indirect access to playing and now coaching staff for 20yrs then so be it mate. I have questioned Gaz's tactics on MANY occasions. But let me ask you this. Other than the six months you spent happily up Shebbys arse what has 5yrs of moaning and ITK knowledge ACTUALLY achieved? The answer, nowt mate. Youve probably found yourself as have many permenantly peed off!! Quick Q - dya think that Burnley thought that zings could fire them to the PL after they sold Austin? Exactly, lighten up. Get behind the lads.
neophox Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Quick Q - IF Rovers only sold Gestede before September and signed Kim, Guthrie, Delfounso and Henry would most still believe we had dealt badly in the market? OK transfer windows then.
Rover_Shaun Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 That would be a great window in the current climate and will make for an intriguing autumn. Then it's over to the tinkerman. Can he reverse 2 years of history and build a coherent and consistant team? Considering the defence is still the same bunch.
neophox Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Liam Nolan on trial elsewhere...seems he has left Rovers. No big deal...according to reports Rovers have put together a package to convince the FA to give Kim a work permit....we will know today and Wants to strike a deal with Guthrie.
neophox Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Please maintain context... "Developing into a fine manager" is what I said. Remember, he's only 3yrs in. He's dealt well with challenges that many 'experienced' managers have not. Fair point, respect your opinion. Have to agree....he had the task to rebuild the whole team. Not easy with an transfer embargo, players sulking, clueless owners, shelfie working for himself,, etc....but needs to step up this season.
Neal Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Fingers crossed about Kim today then... Could do with a bit of good news for once, would certainly lift spirits a little before the season starts. Mate was talking to Dunny the other day, apparently one of the main reasons Rhodes wants to leave is Bowyer, he's not fond apparently and also said that it's only Mrs D that wants him at the club, the two brothers don't want him. Just passing on some hear say.

"Are you Chaddy, Are you Chaddy, Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrre you Chaddy in disguise, Are you Chaddy in disguise!"
G Somerset Rover Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Anybody know if we can appeal on Kim if it comes to it?
