I find it interesting that the LT claims to have had a 69 percent approval rate for selling Rhodes during a poll it ran.

Very interesting. Because I read every LT article on Rovers, and I spotted it precisely nowhere. Did anyone else? And it seems to contradict very strongly with the results on here.

If they ran one, I expect it was hijacked by Dingles and Boro fans. The LT even acknowledged this partly. They should maybe cite a poll from a source where there is a far higher percentage of actual Rovers fans, like say, here. But they won't be doing that of course.

They claim Venkys fear a fan revolt over Rhodes being sold, and in the same breath are trying to tell Venkys that the fans are fine with it. It does make me wonder.

Don't forget we also need proper supporters who fill the ground and pay £500 for ST's every match.

Wow, I definitely don't want to have to buy a season ticket every match, let alone at that price.

if he is not fit for work get shut

Now that is a ridiculous comment. I've no idea what he is poorly with but as nobody appears to be revealing the nature of his illness that comment could very well rebound badly on you yoda.

Sounds like you and a number of others are Jordan Rhodes supporters rather than BRFC supporters. Jordanettes?

Like you ?

I forgot about that one ....

Lineker Jimmy Greaves Jordan Rhodes all have the same attributes that's putting the ball in the net the rest of their overall game doesn't matter there paid to put the ball in the net

And between them they hardly have any medals to show for it......

Bunkum.

The owners and Shaw have been trying to sell him for 2 seasons now, how professional is that?

Shaw sold him last season only for the fat confused one to pull the plug,

:rock::blink::lol:

That's about it.

Every other rovers player is fair game for any nasty, personal, insult - you name 'em, they've had it - and more, but make a comment about Rhodes's strengths and weaknesses and that's well out of order.

Except for how the accounts show in black and white that our turnover is 24 million pa.

Anybody care to speculate how that figure is arrived at? 8000 ST's at an average of approx £300 is 2.4 million. Walk ons of 6000 paying £25 per match is approx another 3m. So thats less than 6m. We must shift some chips, pies and Bovril is all I can say.

Not entirely sure about the details but i do wonder if Hull's offer was a typical "6 million gauranteed with Another 6 IF they stayed up". Might explain things if Shelfy told the owners it's 12 mill and then the paper arrives with a figure of 6...

Not sure about Bowyers attitude towards Rhodes - think he trying to avoid being caught in the middle by stating "he's staying or he's going" but football wise i suspect he feels that 40k/pw and a few million quid could have been better invested to improve the entire team (Not neccessarily saying that he would have achieved this...)

Guessing that player trading is counted? (we are likely still receiving installments for certain players as well as a few outgoing sales pre/during the season).

Depending on the situation which as far as I am concerned we are unaware of that is a much more acceptable way of saying it rather than 'get shut'.

More interestingly, what do we spend 60m a season on? Wages are half of that.

All I've heard is that we've paid one dolloper off after another and we are still paying for JR.

Shaw sold him last season only for the fat confused one to pull the plug, so blaming the player when he finally gets irritated being treated like a piece of meat is complete bunkum.

I don't personally blame him for being irritated - but he didn't need to go through the press in the way he did.

Selling Rhodes would have been the most professional thing they could have done - we basically can't afford him under FFP. If they had cut losses a lot sooner - we may not be in the FFP mess we are now.

Transfer fees and associated costs actually showed a loss of 5 mill.

Jimmy Greaves won the FA Cup in 1961-2 and 1966-67, the Charity Shield in 1962 and the European Cup Winners Cup in 1962-63, all with Spurs.

Not bad I'd say and more than most players.

You've already made a silly comment about our income without knowing the facts. Do you do any research before you spout off ?

Yes

really, we just got shut of a player at great expense because he couldn't do the job,

Real world Gordon, no work no pay

Under normal circumstances I'd agree DMTP, but having packed his bags once for Hull, only to be told last minute he's not going, and then to hear he's for sale again, I don't blame him one bit.

Just imagine if your employer did that to you, I know I'd want out of the door asap and thats just because I'm being messed about, not the other stuff going on at the club thats unsettling.

Gav,

What evidence is there that the owners have been trying to sell him? The evidence points the other way in that they stopped Deggsy from selling him last season and gave him a better deal.

To me it looked like Deggsy had gone rogue again. Again it looks like poor management at the top level of our beloved club. This is another example of why we are where we are.

There are too many levels of management at the club and it appears each with its own agenda and little communication between them. No wonder Gibson is going to the top person as Deggsy has probably advised him that it would take a fiver to buy Rhodes.

I have no time for either the owners of Shaw, but simply the deal doesn't go though unless the owners agree.

It was alluded to several times last season that Rhodes will only be sold if a club meets the owners valuation, which is evidence in my book thats he's for sale if the price is right.

They're trying to sell him make no mistake about that.
