It was pretty clear that both Shaw, and more importantly, Bowyer were prepared to sell to Hull.

The embargo is not Rhodes' fault and when the manager is blatantly advertising that players are for sale SINCE THE EMBARGO BEGAN, his decision to go public is entirely understandable.

Agree both were preperared to sell to Hull but the owners weren't....who was going rogue again ?

Bunkum.

The owners and Shaw have been trying to sell him for 2 seasons now, how professional is that?

Shaw sold him last season only for the fat confused one to pull the plug, so blaming the player when he finally gets irritated being treated like a piece of meat is complete bunkum.

Bunkum x 3

Hull, Boro (January) and Boro (this summer) will tell you that statement is wholly inaccurate. And that's the 3 we know about. There have probably been more bids rejected by the owners. If they wanted rid they'd have done it last summer.

As for Shaw, he's probably trying to sell anything that isn't nailed down, the filthy Nobber.

Who set the price?

I'll help you:

THE OWNERS

Not Shaw, not Myers, not Bowyer, not Gordon or Abbey, but THE OWNERS.

If you're not selling you don't set a price so stop talking utter bunkum.

What is this price ?

no one seems to have matched it yet !

I'm not sure, the Hull chairman was quoted as saying Venkys wanted 12m up front if memory serves me correctly.

So that's not press speculation or hearsay but what he was told by the owners.

Just or of interest, why would bowyer want to sell Rhodes? Shelfy probably had something to gain. Or is the thinking that he was on the make as well?

Seen it mentioned a few times, just wondered that's all.

Well the most obvious answer will be an addition to the excuses book ,and will possibly go like this ,

"Gaz "" We are not far off Milton Keynes Dons but they have a strike force that cost 20 pence and it showed with their 3 goals whereas having to sell Rhodsey because of FFP blah blah blah , but we are where we are and Browney is getting closer each game , could I just say sorry to the lass near the corner flag that was hit with the ball after Browney's shot , Ill sort her out a signed Lowey doll later ."

Interviewer": But you must admit the defending was woeful for the first two

Gaz: ""yeah but no , but yeah didn't help that the supporters were quiet and look at the player increase throughout the squad of which non are for sale but I am sure that clubs watching the situation might be tempted to make a bid, especially in the financial situation we are in , and they should in no way get in contact with Derek if they fancy putting a bid in, but as I said it was a big loss losing Rhodsey he worked wonders when I benched him and we miss that. Anyway got to rush dropping Granty off at the pub on my way home" :)

every player has a price, doesn't mean the owners are actively trying to sell him. If they were he would have gone. Ignore the facts all you like but the facts are they've refused to sell him 3 times. Now that Jordan 'piece of meat' Rhodes has run to the press it's the beginning of the end for him in a Rovers shirt. Shame really, he could have handled it a lot better.

Anyway, i can see you're getting irate and taking it personally so i'll leave it there.

I'm bored of this sarcasm to be honest what's funny about that?

Is that because you don't like the poster's style or that his message is so unpalatable and shows such an absence of belief in Bowyer's purpose?

Consider an alternative: Bowyer sees what we see and is trying to save brfc from financial oblivion whilst still keeping our creditor happy.

If Bowyer is our saviour, God help us all!

Saviour - no. A decent guy trying his best to make sensible decisions in an insane environment - yes.

The last time we changed style to accommodate a player, we won the PL, then again we had a manger then

Which player are you thinking of ? Both Shearer and Sutton were good enough to fit into most styles of play. IMO we didn't change our style of play - it was the style of play that Harford and Dalglish had decided on from early in the project. Unlike Rovers buying Rhodes - they bought players to fit into that system - rather than amending the system to fit the players.

Removing ones head from ones arse is a pre-requisite to seeing what's happening right in front of your nose.

Over to you pal.

Put it this way, I think it's more to do with subject matter than a lack of wit. Ofcourse Bob Fleming still can make me laugh on those subjects but that mans a genius.

Most managers would not put up with what Gary does. A fair majority would wak, IMHO. Although he does seem to be happy going along with whatever direction the owners "allow".

Sometimes I picture Bowyer as Wiley Coyote stood on top of the boulder that is Rovers as it's hurtling towards the ground. The fact that he shrugs, sighs and gets on with it (at least publicly) makes him a target though. Those who back him believe that's cos he loves the club, those who don't think it's for the coin.

He's been promoted way beyond his abilities Stuart, he probably realises that so puts up with all the shenanigans.

I really do feel he's a good guy, at a decent club working towards a collective goal in a decent structure he'd excel, maybe not as manager but as a coach.

Fair enough comment and its not to everyones taste but helps deal with a situation on my part anyway.

Should have just left it at imo he will benefit (as far has his reputation goes) from the excuse of not having Rhodes if he leaves,

p.s don't really believe he has Lowe dolls or drops Grant off at the pub or that Browney will hit the corner flag from a shot , well maybe the last one a little bit.

You keep doing what you do. It'll be a dark day when we lose the dark humour of you and Bob.

Or would that make it a light day?
