Backroom DE. Posted July 27, 2015 Backroom Posted July 27, 2015 I quite liked Karanka until these comments: http://m.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/13500932.Karanka__Blackburn_cannot_keep_unhappy_Rhodes/ What business is it of his? Are Boro the new Big Club? Possibly the worst thing Boro could have done. The more they speak, the more likely Venky's are to feel insulted and dig their heels in. Their lack of class may come back to bite them here, though I still expect Rhodes to be sold.

Damien Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Karanka said For me, it is important that Jordan said what he did (on Friday). If I was the Blackburn manager, or the people at the club, I would not like to have a player who is not happy in my team.'' and then said I dont know what is going to happen though, so lets see. At the moment, Jordan is not with us so I cant really say anything about him. What a tool. They're struggling for goals at the moment and there is no guarantees in championship football... Maybe Boro will struggle this year... It'll be good watching him lose his job after spunking millions and getting nowhere!
arbitro Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Karanka:- “For me, it is important that Jordan said what he did (on Friday). If I was the Blackburn manager, or the people at the club, I would not like to have a player who is not happy in my team" Rhodes comments to the press, Karanka comments on Rhodes' comments, pressure builds on Rovers to sell. A very carefully orchestrated move by Karanka/Boro and Rhodes. Conclusion: Rhodes is a complete and utter Karanka. you must be a boro fan then Silly comment. Things like his go on all the time, that is how football works. I have met Rhodes's agent several times and he will be manipulating things behind the scenes to ensure that the move goes through.

blueboy3333 Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Silly comment. Things like his go on all the time, that is how football works. I have met Rhodes's agent several times and he will be manipulating things behind the scenes to ensure that the move goes through. silly comment. We were talking about an opposition manager publically trying to unsettle out star striker. You thought this was acceptable. As a Rovers fan i think it's appalling and shows a complete lack of class. Same goes for Rhodes.
JHRover Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 The reality is that for all the talk of how brilliant Middlesbrough are and how bad things are at Rovers, that at this moment in time we have a 40-50 goal strikeforce that is worth £20 million and is the envy of this division. Fair enough, the chances of getting to September with one or both of them still here is very slim, but if we did manage it then I would compare our side to Middlesbrough's with some interest. Because at this moment in time they don't have goals in their side. They've lost Bamford and Vossen and as yet haven't replaced them. So for me at this moment in time I would say we have certainly a far stronger strikeforce than them. Karanka is a disgrace. All that time working at Real Madrid but you can't teach class. He must think that because he's managing the mighty Middlesbrough that finished 3rd/4th in the second division last season that they should be able to do what they want. I hope Venkys carry on ignoring them and rejecting bids just to upset them even more. Hopefully Venkys will teach them that it doesn't make one ounce of difference what Karanka says or what Rhodes says. He won't be going unless it suits the Indians. There's a way to conduct yourself as a manager - don't talk about targets or other clubs' players - Middlesbrough must now be wanting to play dirty after Rhodes' comments appear to have fallen on deaf ears and 'Plan A' failed to get them what they wanted.
thenodrog Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 We need players in part - ex or loan, not £12m up front. No idea what you do for a living Pedro but you are obviously not our bank manager..... nor one of our creditors.
Damien Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 I hope the Venkys reject all bids from Boro and Rhodes keeps his head down for now... As you say above, Boro are struggling for goals and without Rhodes they'll be no better than they were last year... In fact... I would say they are worse than last year from losing Bamford and Vossen. So keep Rhodes, and we will be in a better position than them.
ABBEY Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP THE FOOOTBALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL awake again

Are Boro the new Big Club? From that link and folllowing Boro's 0-0 with Doncaster. “It was the same thing again,” said Karanka. “We need to score goals. This was our fifth (pre-season) game and we have only scored three goals. It’s the same problem – we created chances but did not score.” Thanks for that matey.... 8m cash????? Sorry the price has just gone up. Oh btw a word of advice.... don't try to play poker!
Damien Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Maybe in terms of a goalscorer but nowt else At the end of the day... We can score goals and they cannot... Sure, we will lose a few games but we will win more... If they cannot score then winning games is more difficult. Therefore I do not see how they are a step up... Boro are only better than us when/if Rhodes leaves. This is of course very biased on my part.
thenodrog Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 I wish our manager was clever enough to try and manipulate situations to our advantage. I have no problem with his comments. You'de better not play poker either then arbitro. 'Our advantage' as you put it is to get as much for JR as possible. If we can pull Boro's necks out over this and weaken them long term then so much the better. We are keeping our cards close to our chest and Boro are talking big and painting themselves into a corner with the great unwashed in the Riverside. Classic tactic.

A very carefully orchestrated move by Karanka/Boro and Rhodes. Conclusion: Rhodes is a complete and utter Karanka. you must be a boro fan then I'd say the pressure was building on Boro to buy! Gibbo's got a problem. He's trying to keep hot tempered Karanka happy, he's trying not to lose face to the Boro fans after going public and getting Rhodes to do the same, he must have a very twitchy FD and Bank manager chewing his ear ..... and he's trying to deal with the venkymob!
Damien Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 This is were I hope Venkys stand very, very firm! This will go a long way with the fans too... I hope!
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted July 27, 2015 Moderation Lead Posted July 27, 2015 Is he not referring to Boro fans? Given previous negative comments about the Riverside, it was an educated guess.
thenodrog Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Is he not referring to Boro fans? He knows that..... Hence the smiley JB. Too early on a Monday morning for you is it?
JHRover Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 I still don't get it from Middlesbrough's point of view at all. Why go to such lengths and expense to sign one striker for £12 million? Surely there are players out there who are capable of scoring goals who are available for less than £12 million. They could sign 3 very good players for less than the cost and much less hassle than signing Rhodes. Then there's the risk of an embargo too. In theory that should be guaranteed were they to miss out on promotion again this season. Is that really a risk worth taking when they could spend £5-6 million on a striker and possibly avoid future trouble with FUP?
thenodrog Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 This is were I hope Venkys stand very, very firm! This will go a long way with the fans too... I hope! Hmm don't know the nuts and bolts of course but there is much irony on the face of it in that they have prob committed more bunce to BRFC than Uncle Jack did. Albeit not upfront and not with any master plan. Fools and their money eh?
Pedro Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 No idea what you do for a living Pedro but you are obviously not our bank manager..... nor one of our creditors. I know for sure that you just harp on about yourself on here for a living whilst overlooking the massive failings of your own opinions On a serious note, without a miracle promotion, we are heading for administration. Without fecent playing staff, we are heading for League One. My opinion is based on if we were to receive £12m in cash we would still be limited to freebies on relatively low wages. If Boro' are desperate for Rhodes, and he is desperate to go, I would be insistent on taking a couple of decent players off them and let them subsidise their wages. Now, cut the smarm and contribute rather than tediously congratulating yourself for stating the obvious in 2010.

In fact when all this is done and dusted I'd be willing to see them on an FA charge. Lots are now busily rewriting their own personal history. However.... Have you ever thought that this is a measure to avert administration? If the Bank manager tells you he wants some money to honour some payments you have made or to pay back a loan that you have taken out and money is not coming in as expected then you definitely need to listen and act accordingly.

Only player ever to score 20 plus goals for five (or is it six ?) consecutive seasons. Nothings every guaranteed in football but if you ve got "previous" he could just score 20 again. Boro assembling a squad for the next two or three seasons.Get them in now ..keep them together and ride FFP out.Maybe two or three cracks at getting out of the Championship. Thats if it still exists after the QPR challenge ..
