Does anyone really think that Robinson was on only £6k or Rudy on £19k ?

I was about to say that the figure for Robinson must have been way out.

If the rest of them are roughly correct, then there are some massive discrepancies in players' perceived values. We bought in Steele for what we pay Eastwood and Raya combined, Henley is on way too little, Conway is on a lot less than you'd expect, Marshall and Gestede similar to a lesser extent, Lowe is a complete waste of one of the higher wages quoted, ditto Marcus Olssen.

As for the loanees Spearing would have to be one of the worst 29k p.w.ever spent and it would be no surprise why Baptiste was allowed to leave IF that's what he was earning.

Quite possible re: robbo and ditto for Dunny, eminently sensible if their wages were based on a small basic plus big appearance money. I suggest a reason neither figured much even when they declared themselves fit and ready.

Not after the crisis of confidence he suffered the previous season when he got royally ragged by Bolton, Burnley etc. I'd say although undoubtedly enthusiastic he's not worth what he's on now tbh.

Really? I didn't.

I do remember the Norwich game when we were winning at HT with Rhodes and Gestede playing, then our clown of a manager took Rhodes off for no reason whatsoever and we ended up losing.

Fair point about the Cup games against Liverpool , but they were one off games against Premiership opposition when we set up to try not to lose and which were not really representatative of what we need on our travels week in week out in the League when we need to create chances and win games.

If you go back and read Parsons many reports over the past couple of seasons, especially away from home, you'll find plenty of evidence there Rev, but you shouldn't need to. BTW, why do you think Bowyer dropped him, why do you think Strachan won't give him so much as a squad place?

Funny how so many are quite prepared to slag off the likes of Lowe for his shortcomings, yet become blind to Rhodes's deficiencies simply because he scores every couple of games.

Rhodes job is to score Den. End off. He does.

Lowes job i wonder if you can tell me? He's shunted around from tackling, to passing to defending at right back and pointing. I like Lowe but he needs 46 games in his position.

Just imagine how many he would score if he ever put a proper shift in den!

A centre forwards main job is to score, but thats not the end of his responsibilities is it?

Without sounding disrespectful to what Rhodes has done at Ewood, is he really the world beating striker some are making him out to be ? The answer is a stark NO he isn't.

Selling him for £12m plus is good business, fantastic business for BRFC. Its poor on behalf of Boro but who really give s to$$ about them?

If JR was a world-beater of a striker he wouldn't be here, he would be in the top flight. Truth is he isn't. He might score 20 goals a season but to be honest, any half decent striker can in this league especially in a team that can make goals. I like him at Rovers, but he is a little inconsistent. He hasn't got electric pace, he is a little lightweight and he hasn't got the rocket shot type of goal in him, yes he can finish but how many chances does he miss before he scores?

we have lost better strikers and always moved on. Losing JR will see the move on as well. As for a replacement ? I don't know the answer to that but one thing is for sure, he can be replaced and at Boro, imagine how the club will feel when they don't go up with JR at the front of their overrated players? Its a huge gamble and when boro gamble what happens? History tells us they go down !

Steve Gibson isn't the messiah or the chairman that they make him out to be. Successful off the pitch maybe but with the club, its poor fayre.

Under normal circumstances, this would be a very well justified argument. Under FUP, it all becomes immaterial.

The insinuation in Bowyer's remarks is that Boro are ambitious whereas we are not. Strange comments for a manager to make.

Not really Jim. They've just spent big money on Downing, big wages to boot I'd suggest, plus a few others. Whereas we happen to be under a transfer embargo. I think Clough and Shankly would struggle turning that into a positive. Having said that, Shanks would still point out that "they (boro) are bloody rubbish son, stop here, we'll walk this league with you in the team".

At which point I've totally contradicted myself. You're right! I'll get my coat.

As much as i like Gary Bowyer I'm beginning to lose faith. His interviews should be the platform to inspire/motivate people. Freedman has been dealt the same hand this summer and I don't hear him be anything bar positive.

Yeah, I think you HAVE to be positive, whatever the situation. If your leader is beaten there's no chance.

THat's quite plausible in Dunny's case that he signed a 12 month deal on a largely "pay as you play" basis, but Robinson was sitting out the remainder of his 5 year deal signed when we were in the Premiership wasn't he?

No way he was sitting on his hands for c6k p.w. I'd assumed he be on roughly 30.

Isn't Gary in the top half/third of the longest serving managers in the entire football league?

I'd give Nigel Pearson everything i had to help us.

Gary has done a commendable job in stabilizing things but i feel hes knackered and im tired of him.

He isn't entirely innocent though, in the 3 years we have had him, in terms of play I have yet to see him linking up well with a strike partner or holding the ball and laying it off to bring others in to play.

Really? Do you mean ever? Want me to go find a clip for you?

He did have that very serious illness though which may have affected the terms of his contract. Who knows?

Filthy scummy venkys put an end to this one way or the other, answer the @#/? calls, open your @#/? mouths

Why?

Ideally Rhodes needs to be told privately he's going nowhere especially if Gestede is off.

We owe Boro, Gibson and Karanka nowt. Let them rot.

Agreed.

FFP? The message being drummed out every day should be "What a fantastic opportunity this is for our talented youngsters to show what they can do."

I think the supporters would realise the job in hand has been made slightly more difficult.
