BlooBoy Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 you would know LOL yeah yeah Abbey .....il see ya ont concourse for a pint !
tomphil Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Robbo must've been on sick pay when that list was complied lol Also worth remembering that Henley was awarded a 5 year contract when he first got near the team. He was only very young then and it was a long deal so he had the security at least. He certainly wasn't shy of telling his mates how much he was on a few years ago when he was larging it up whilst not exactly earning it. Thankfully he seems to have knuckled down. If there is a weekly budget and contracts play a part in selections then he should nail that right back spot in front of Lowe going off the wages. Although that would put the battle of left back spot in the favour of Spurr........
den Posted July 28, 2015 Author Posted July 28, 2015 Rather than looking at the wage bill which we know was 31mill, where on earth was the other 29 mill going?
Leonard Venkhater Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Rather than looking at the wage bill which we know was 31mill, where on earth was the other 29 mill going? The sky is grey, but the envelopes are brown
PallyPark Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Hi chaps. Boro fan in peace here. Came on here to see what the overall view of this Rhodes saga is and also to see how the people who see him week in and week out rate him. His record is very good but having watched Rovers twice last year against us, I have to say Gestede looked far more effective, would that be fair to say? I knew Rovers were having some issues with Venkys, but didn't realise it was as serious as it was. Have they ever been good to you or has it been doomed from the start? Anyway, best of luck with the season and I'm sure you won't be anywhere near as bad as some are making out, definitely more than good enough for mid table (especially if your keeper Westwood gets a run In the team). Cheers
tomphil Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Rather than looking at the wage bill which we know was 31mill, where on earth was the other 29 mill going? Still paying off co owners or investors maybe

Cheers Eastwood* - he prob won't play as much this season because Steele doesn't have to sit the Boro fixtures out! Venkys have never been good- basically they have pointed us towards oblivion with their idiocy! You can see how difficult it is to even get a response out of them. I think we will finish mid table personally, but you'll find most have gone for worse. (In the hope that they do better I expect.) I though your managers comments where completely out of order by the way? What's your opinion on that? Good luck for the season.
PallyPark Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 As in no investment? Poor investment? Bad management? I've always looked on at Blackburn as one of the 'proper' clubs along with the likes of Villa, Forest etc. sad to see them in hard times.
niggit Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Poor advisers to start off with and very much niave in terms of football.
Gav Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 As in no investment? Poor investment? Bad management? I've always looked on at Blackburn as one of the 'proper' clubs along with the likes of Villa, Forest etc. sad to see them in hard times. One of the best run clubs in the country until those 3 stooges from India arrived on the scene, the rest is history. VENKYS OUT
PallyPark Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Eastwood, thanks for the correction. I know the feeling of expecting the worst but hoping for better far too well. Karankas comments towards Rhodes' transfer request? It is very unlike him to comment on other teams players in terms of transfers, I was shocked to read it. Many of your fans have spoke on this thread about how JR's conduct has been exemplary, keeps his head down and does his job. I would of like to see a similar approach from AK as he usually does. Maybe he has missed out on other targets and all his eggs are in this basket? Who knows?
Gav Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Poor advisers to start off with and very much nieve in terms of football. Thick is the word is use, naive people eventually learn, this lot are just plain thick.
yoda Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Thick is the word is use, naive people eventually learn, this lot are just plain thick. Maybe, JR and Rudy are still here though
niggit Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 They wanted to use the club to promote their brand and image. Thought we couldn't be relegated, said about getting Ronaldinhio and Beckham etc. Had no idea of how much football clubs cost to run. Think they have now realised, after completely ruining our club.
tomphil Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 As in no investment? Poor investment? Bad management? I've always looked on at Blackburn as one of the 'proper' clubs along with the likes of Villa, Forest etc. sad to see them in hard times. Basically they bought the club just to use as an advertisement vehicle for their company then entrusted the day to day running of it to Steve Kean and his agent Jerome Anderson. A lot of us feel they held/hold an unofficial financial stake in the club as well. This pair of con artists set about smashing the club to bits from inside out whilst stitching it up financially to suit their own agenda. What you see now is a result of this and the Indians just stood by and let it happen, then let it happen all over again with the parachute money after relegation. I don't buy the niave thing at all they just didn't give a @#/? and buried their heads in the sand and prayed. The are personally very wealthy allegedly so that didn't bother them. Niave ? No, ignorant, arrogant and partly deceitful.? Yes. The only thing they got right at all was sanctioning the signing of Rhodes. Now they've no idea whether to stick or twist. From a football point of view it has to be stick but from a financial one it's obviously twist. Just another stupid situation they've created. Please post this on your board so you know what your dealing with, cheers !
PallyPark Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Clearly I'm an outsider but it looks a little bit like there's a need to start all over again. Clean slate and get it right. Like someone previously said, Rovers were one of the best ran clubs until Venkys came in. Steve Kean was a disaster and that was obvious to everybody I think, he looked completely out of his depth. You will get back there, I have no doubt about it. You still have your strike force and Ben Marshall would get a game for half the prem teams let alone the Championship. I genuinely wish you lads all the best. Venkys out! (Bandwagon jumper)
roverandout Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Put it this way they bought a stallion and turned it into a nag!!

Cheers When compared to what £14m could buy - would have to say that Rhodes isn't worth £14m. You will be buying an almost certain guarantee of 20+ goals for the season but little else. I do think he works hard (though some would disagree) - but don't expect him to out pace most defenders or hold the ball up. His distribution is at best average. Be prepared (if he signs) for conversations with fellow fans as to whether he is actually on the pitch - only for him to score - and you to wonder why you dared to question him.

Damien Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Pretty sure it was coco the conman. It was Kean, he kept talking about twin brothers causing defenders problems with their identical looks and blistering pace!Mind you Marcus has become a very good player so... Oh my goodness I was just about to compliment coco... Stop me! But seriously Kean is an arsehole... There I feel better now!
