You're coming across as having a bit of a tantrum Rev. I'm saying the management/owners should sit down and talk properly to the players. Talk to them and decide whether it's in the club's interest to try to keep them. Refusing to answer the phone to boro, fining the players etc, as you suggest is just downright childish.

I'm not having a tantrum in the slightest. I'm just pointing out you're displaying more faces than a church clock on this matter.

Perhaps I should amend your excellent quote that I've been using as my sig for years to "Buy first division players and you'll get first division football. Unless it's Jordan Rhodes who's for sale then it's ok and even though we're under an embargo."

On the conduct of the matter if you told someone your house was up for sale for 150k but not a penny less and the buyer had to have liquid funds available but they kept trying to ring you up every day offering 120 and saying they needed to apply for a mortgage, would you keep speaking to them or ignore them? I know what I'd do.

Chaddy, could you please stop clogging up the MB by continually telling us that you are going to ignore Abbey from now on?

Rev, you can't FORCE players to stay. That's what I'm saying. You're apparently saying that we should force them to stay. My arguments about always trying to keep your best players is still valid.

The best way to keep your best players is to pay 'em the going rate and convince them of your ambition.

Well Gav whilst I agree with this post you do on occasions come across maybe not anti rovers but shall we say anti certain rovers related problems. Oh and not having a dig.

So you're also, on occasions, 'anti certain Rovers related problems' also?

Do explain what 'anti certain Rovers related problems' means please Pete, genuinely interested.

You've seen enough players in the past who have thrown their toys out of the pram until they get the move they want. Look how we got players like Savage. I agree - not often and it won't become a habit ^_^ - with Shaun on this. When Rhodes wanted to come to Ewood he did the same thing with Huddersfield. Rhodes and Gestede aren't unique in this. I'm sure that over the past twenty-odd years or so many fans of other clubs have felt the same toward us as we feel towards Middlesbrough. We've been a feeder clubs for others in the past for many, many years and it seems we are heading that way again. It is simply part and parcel of our game - predator and prey. I would expect any manager to defend the players until they are actually sold. He can't very well come out and attack them now and then have to work with them in September if nobody buys them. However, we need it sorting and sorting quickly. The manager can't sign players if he doesn't know who is leaving and who is staying. If the owners tell the players they are staying then we need some statement of intent from them - and actually putting on a pair of boots might be a start.

I really don't understand where you're coming from on this. Until we sell them they should be an integral part of the squad. The owners seem to be doing their best to price the pair out of a move therefore until anything changes and a Premiership Club come in with an offer that's too good to turn down it's business as normal. If the former does happen the manager will have to go out and replace them, if not he doesn't. If the manager is choosing to leave them out in the meantime because they might move I'd say that's his fault.

If they refuse to play fine them. (I don't believe this has happened by the way)

It's not difficult. You seem to be trying to come up with excuses as to why GB's job is being made more difficult when in reality the owners appear to be attempting to help him by keeping the squad together. Just as they did 12 months ago and GB completely blew the chance he had been given.

Of course you can. They're under contract.

You run the risk obviously that if you do they'll sulk somewhat and not perform to the best of their capabilities but I'd rather risk that than sell them in our current situation.

You are quite right and maybe i should not have put anti rovers, I defo want Bowyer out, which is I guess anti rovers along with the venkys which isn't anti rovers, but its not about to happen, Nicko is now tweeting JR has spoken directly to the venkys but could be BS.

When I said Anti certain rovers related i meant the negatives just like i have done in my opinion of Bowyer. thats all, as i say probably the wrong terminology, no offence meant.

It's also quite amusing, to me at least, to think of Gibson's dawning realisation that he doesn't have "F*** O**" money. I wonder when was the last time he was completely and utterly ignored?

By his wife until the divorce settlement went through... That's one of the reasons Gibsons purse strings were tightened the last few years.

Doesn't look they are now and he's basically telling the football league to screw there non sensical FFP.. Good on him

Why then hasn't Rhodes put a transfer request in.

Ah well.........

Whatever the question is, the answer isnt Jordan Rhodes.

Sell him, keep him............ our problems go far beyond this particular problem.

Why then hasn't Rhodes put a transfer request in.

How would I know?

We know how Nixon likes to play pied piper and also how he has it in for Rovers these days so I won't be paying too much attention to his usual bullsheet. He's now got the Boro faithful dancing to his tune, they want to go and talk to Burnley/Bolton/Wigan fans first. He's had us all on the hop for no reason in recent years!

Savage was under contract to Birmingham when Hughes wanted him. Where did he end up?

To be fair to Nixon he hasn't been his usual self with the Rhodes to Boro story.

He broke it at the start of the summer, then backtracked and said it wouldn't happen because Rhodes didn't want another Championship club, so I think recent events have caught him out.

It isn't him saying the deal is happening. If you look at his tweets he has maintained that attempts continue to get Venkys approval but that Mrs Desai continues to dig her heels in.

The rumours about Venkys agreeing to the move appear to be from other sources.

He used to be all right on here, I made one reasonable comment on twitter and he blocked me, fat Scottish haggis

Used to speak to him on there and he was fine. Then after I had a conversation on there with an agent who was slagging Gartside at Bolton along with our fav fat controller etc, guess what, the haggis blocked me. Strange that,,,,,, or maybe not !

He's the master at hedging his bets though.

Not very popular at Hillsborough also.

He's seems to pick a new northern club every year to lather up to before non of his spin comes true and they turn on him. Wonder when he's moving down south.
