Why shouldn't he try his hardest to get the best deal for his club? That's how pretty much every negotiation works. Hence the word negotiation.

If it can't be done then Gibson will walk away. If Rhodes chooses to pay close attention to the negotiations then that is surely down to Rhodes and nobody else?

You negotiate in private though, declaring to the media he was going to phone them or jump on a plane was pathetic and quite the PR stunt towards fans of your club.

You were informed your bid wasn't good enough and they didn't want to sell to what is considered a league rival, instead your just trying every tactic to turn JR'S head even more whilst not amending the value of your offer.

In conjunction with AK'S comments after our game last season and the comments about JR i have no doubt that these were deliberately done at aiming to get JR to turn the screw at our end. Defiantly learnt from Mourinho in that case.

To be quite honest and this is not against you but this whole episode has been quite distasteful in my view.

I'm with you Gordon. Lots of history revisionists bleating about Boro and Rhodes. We've not entirely been squeeky clean down the years.

Can't blame the lad for wanting about of the land that ambition forgot.

I thought we paid over the odds to get him from udders

I can see what you're saying but I have yet to see any evidence of Gibson announcing that he will be calling or visiting anybody? Some Twitter account posted it and everyone jumped on board with it?

It appears to me that karankas comment about Rhodes the other day was out of line and that's about it?

The sooner it's over the better for both clubs, whatever the outcome

I suppose you're right. I don't think SG is the kind of guy to let it get completely out of hand and I firmly believe he will walk away sooner rather than later if Venkys don't budge.

Unfortunately for us, it's a lose, lose situation, but you're right, it needs sorting and the sooner, the better. Then we can try and sort Gestede out.

Think unleaded or someone said GB was going scouting a Barnsley player anyway. Maybe he'll have a glance at Boro but I don't see that Venkys will want that. Who have Boro got that they'd let go who is worth any considerable amount to make a difference to any Rhodes deal ?
