I suppose you're right. I don't think SG is the kind of guy to let it get completely out of hand and I firmly believe he will walk away sooner rather than later if Venkys don't budge.

I wouldn't worry mate , if you do happen to buy him for 12m the first time you see him properly you'll be disappointed by his lack of speed, movement and general athleticism . He's nicking a living on 40k

So do you blueboy and you see something 12k others dont

Touche...but then so did you till the Liverpool game.

BTW, this board doesn't represent the 12k who turn up.

Boro fans asked bowyer if he had brought Rhodes with him. His reply was 'you can't afford him'.

Haha, you gotta love the Bowyer. Rovers to the core. Top man.

agree with you on the speed and athleticism, but his movement in the box is very good. He's certainly no Bamford though in terms of picking the ball up deep and creating goals for himself. I suppose when they can pay Downing a reported £70k a week they have someone who can give him the ball where he wants it.

Lad who tweeted it seems like he's full of shoite to be honest so I wouldn't think it happened.

The same Bowyer you were beginning to stick the boot into a while ago until you did a quick about turn ? :tu:

nope, the same one who i think's done a good job but who i said i'd replace with Mick Mccarthy or Warburton given the choice. I think you know that though.

bunk um

That corner you've backed yourself into isn't a good place to be is it blueboy?

What were you saying about intelligent posts?

Evening gents.

Just passing on a bit of info. Your gaffer is in the stands at Barnsley tonight for our pre season friendly.

Overall scouting trip ahead of the season, or maybe checking out a player that is to be used as a makeweight in any possible Rhodes deal?

A lot of rumours about it being Yanic Wildschutt?

Anybody know anything?

I've heard it's Panic Buypileosh1t.

I wouldn't say Downing is that much better than Conway at delivering the ball.

The problem is we sit so deep with 2 defensive midfielders that Conway and Marshall get the ball too far from the opposition box.

If Williamson can get forward as he has been doing through pre season then this might not be a problem. I'd also play Taylor

I want this next week to go back quickly, let's get to the first game and see who is on the pitch and what formation/instructions we are using to 'win' games.

It will stop all the speculative posts and hopefully allay all of our concerns.

This one's too far down the line for me. Rhodes' head has been turned and I can't see him here this season. Dreading seeing our team sheets with no striker on them. :(

It's not even got out of the starting blocks has it?

Imperative we keep him if we're to survive this season imo but we don't appear to have driven a particularly hard bargain on the terms of the Gestede deal. Rhodes may be forgiven for thinking if Villa can pay for Gestede in instalments why can't Boro do the same for him?

Unless of course a large part of the fee is contingent on them being promoted which of course is neither use nor ornament to us.

Thing is at the time it was rumoured bling venky paid for Rhodes out of his own money . So maybe he doesn't want instalments back in return but a big fat juicy profit all in one go.
