shocking that someone who is/was? a prominent trust chap doesn't know who Wickham is. The same person didn't know Yeovil were in our division a couple of years back. Certainly doesn't fill you with any confidence.

Bit personal and unnecessary Abs.

Why?

Its hardly shocking that Paul hasnt heard of a striker who has hardly played or scored at a low ranked PL side.

Regarding the comments about Paul being involved in the trust, I fail to see the link. If the trust where ever in a position of owning the club then they would appoint executives to run the club, so even if paul was a prominent member of the trust (and I don't know if he is), then knowledge of Sunderlands subs bench wouldn't be his remit.

Thats why I think it was a bit of a dig.

At least Paul has secured Ewood as a asset of community value.

really ? you have not heard of Wickham?

wow!

The same CW who single handedly beat Chelsea to keep Sunderland up the season before last???

As I've explained before I don't watch PL football at all. I'm interested in the league in which Rovers play so I have no idea what is happening in the PL. I couldn't even tell you who plays for England. I'm not interested. Just like I'm not interested in NFL, boxing, cricket or wrestling. Now that may be difficult to understand for some but it's what I do.

ABBEY when I was a kid Yeovil were "the" non-league team everyone talked about. If you go back and read my post on that matter you'll see I was expressing surprise at how far Yeovil had come because I didn't know as i don't follow non-league football. As usual though you didn't actually read what was written

Especially when Paul was trying to say Rhodes is worth more than Wickham when he don't know who he is

ABBEY, Feniscowles can I suggest you read my post thoroughly. A comment was made that Sunderland had sold Wickham for £9m. I spent some time reading about Wickham's career - it seemed reasonable to get some facts before making a comment - and discovered his career goals ratio is one goal in six games.

What I then went on to say was if a striker with a 1 in 6 ratio is worth £9m then a striker with a goal ratio of 1 in 2 games (its actually slightly less, therefore better) should be worth considerably more.

Do I think Rhodes is worth £12m? No. BUT the market place tells me a 1 in 6 striker is worth £9m, it is therefore quite logical to argue a striker with a ratio of 1 in 2 should be worth significantly more albeit he doesn't have PL experience. Last season Wickham scored six times in 40 games, Rhodes scored 21 in 47. Which one would you like to play for Rovers?

I hope that clarifies my point.

I think Paul's point quite obviously was that if a non - scoring lump like Wickham is valued at 9m that must make Rhodes worth about 20m to a Premiership Club.

(Although I'm surprised he hasn't heard of him either ;) )

On the bright side, must make Brown worth about 7m! :o

Your are beginning to sound like Ranoff Westwood

Don't think so he had some style and a sense of humour. Not just unfunny trolling.

I don't see they have any choice now but to accept boros bid as long as it reaches their valuation

They have a hard choice but i think he has to stay he is a legend/hero to the club we need him!

I think Gary will let him go but hopefully not Gestede too he has to stay we cant have both of are betst strikers leave!

They say maybe to middlesbourough but is it a risk to sell to anothor team in the championship!
