It would help if the Football League weren't now seemingly moving the goal posts with regards to the embargo.

Its remarkable really. Up until last week's sale of Gestede and intense interest in Rhodes the party line coming from FL HQ was that the absolute earliest the embargo could be lifted would be January 2016.

Now all of a sudden we have sold one striker and are facing a huge battle to hold on to the other and the League are suddenly willing to be a lot more accommodating and apparently even lift the embargo immediately if we sell Rhodes.

Anyone would think they were trying to persuade/tempt us to sell Rhodes. Dangle the lure of an immediate lifting of the embargo infront of Blackburn's noses to see if the temptation is too good to resist. For this reason alone we should continue to try to keep him here. When the League are changing their own rules at the drop of a hat my suspicions are raised as to what they want and why they are willing to be so accommodating after screwing us over for 6 months. By complete coincidence there is a bid on the table for our star striker which if accepted would sort out a lot of problems in terms of the embargo and losses, yet nobody seems to be interested in the most important part which is the team scoring goals.

As I've already said. Even if we keep Rhodes we have made such significant reductions in terms of wages and squad numbers in recent months, not to mention bringing in more than £10 million in cash, that a stonewall case ought to be put to the FL that we are doing the necessary and that the embargo should be lifted in January. Nobody else has had to bring in £20 million through player sales to avoid an embargo so I don't see why we should have to.

In relation to Le Fondre I would be very happy if we could get him here. Cardiff are keen to let him go so we should offer to take him on loan with a view to paying a fee for him in a year when our embargo has been lifted. He guarantees goals at this level and is still a decent age.

So does that mean Rhodes is on his way out?

Just a thought but who else is worth £6m?

The monkey hanging racist Boro need to realise one simple thing, pay up the full £14m or stay away. Simple as that

I very much doubt they can, unless their Bank Manager is seeking a fresh challenge away from banking. They'll be like us with Huddersfield (and most other clubs) and want it on a drip feed.

Shaw tells us that if we sell him we'll be out of embargo, others tell us the owners won't sell him. What a confusing picture. Are they doing it on purpose?

I hope so. Shows savvy.

I rem Jack Walker was one of the most secretive of individuals regarding both business and private life. When the Walkers did a deal you heard about it only when the ink was dry.

Certainly not re:Pro football matters. Keeping schtumm is a good business practice BUT can also be a sign of uncertainty. One thing I would believe is that the venkys learning curve has been very steep since 2010.

What did roverandout "correct" then? Because I see no alteration

player plural. Rem what it says / said at the top of your school exam papers.

Jason Lowe, a professional athlete who has represented his country is a "nobody". It would take quite a somebody to make that statement.

I think you've misquoted him. Think he was trying to say "reading on here, Lowe's worth £6mill. In the real world, nobody at the club except Rhodes is worth £6mill"

"Reading here, Lowe? Real world, nobody."

A couple of commas would have made all the difference :P

According to Sky, Le Fondre is having a medical at Wolves today. My guess is that they're paying out hard cash, which we can't do.

I can't see the point in selling Rhodes. The only way we'll replace him is if we go back under the embargo, by paying out cash for someone. I say take the gamble and stick with him.
