According to today's Sun Paper that Rovers wont sell Rhodes to Boro

Nixon in u turn shock horror ... Rhodes goes Nixon was right Rhodes stays Nixon was right .. What a tool he is

That is part of the problem, Venky's haven't adjusted their working practices.

John Williams and Tom Finn for example were prepared to challenge the owners and they quickly decided (with a little bit of help from you know who) to get rid of them.

I've said it all along , they just want smoke blowing up there arse . If your not prepared to bath the owd hag in milk or feed her grapes then your gone . Cue Shaw the slimy excuse of a man , he's like a slimy train spotter with dribbles at the end of his nose .

Rhodes situation is the same as it was last week.

Boro have not been back with another bid yet and the owners (Mrs D) have declined the opportunity to talk directly with Gibson. I suspect that the owners are not happy with the behaviour of Boro and as I said a couple of weeks ago they haven't in the past been pressurised by player power. You have to remember that Venky's are from a different culture, they view everyone at Rovers as employees and in Indian culture the owners are very rarely challenged by the employees.

Myself and others posted very similar views before and at the time of the take over, got castigated and called racist for it,

funny that, well looked what has happened to Blackburn Rovers.

It is probably only their arrogance that is keeping them at the club now, trying desperately to keep face.

You cannot run a multi million pound business in Europe this way, they need to wise up or go

still dont get the "saving face" stuff because anyone can see what theyve already done and surly anyone in India who watches what theyve done can see they have lost face.

Yes ABBEY but bailing out and running would be immeasurably worse for them around the BBQ in the hills of Pune with the chums around for a meet

If the situation remains deadlocked, then assuming Borough still want him and he wants to go, Rhodes is going to have to make it happen from his end. Is he capable? I think he is.

There's nothing he can do if the owners refuse to pick up the phone.

Surely that would break the contract and he could go for nothing to the highest bidder.

More likely the Rovers would sue him for breach of contract and keep his registration to stop him playing for anyone else

If he refused to play they would have to do something.

I doubt it would involve selling him. You know how they operate - they aren't going to let a lowly employee bully them into doing something.

Besides of which, I can't see Rhodes going on strike. Even Samba played after his phantom injuries cleared up and the transfer window shut.

Cheers. I doubt many of Venks employees are 25 year old millionaires but good luck to them!

Actually the logic there is sound!

All footballers are employees and regardless of their own wealth (earned by playing for their employers) they have to adhere to the wishes of their employers!

Never really thought of it that way before.

Surely that would break the contract and he could go for nothing to the highest bidder.

Not playing would be a breach of his own contract and the owners could then seek legal steps towards recovering losses from him... It's not as simple as refusing to play... If Venkys wanted to take legal action he'd have no legs to stand on.

All he need do is provide a sick note from some Harley St quack and he won't be picked to play. He can say he's been sick all night and he won't play. Loads of excuses out there that cannot be challenged but everyone would know his intentions.

Think his intentions were quite clear on Saturday - IMV, he strolled about and didn't break sweat.

This is madness and has to be brought to an end.

Sell him, exit the embargo and make three decent signings to strengthen overall.

Shelfy and Bowyer need to show some balls and lay it on the line to the V's - if they don't like it and get sacked, then they have their contracts to fall back on. What self respecting employee would be so subservient and continue to work for such shambolic operators in any line of commerce / industry.

This pussy footing about with Desai is pathetic - get into her ribs.

And then go the way of Paul Hunt? Not going to happen. Shelfy and Bowyer are nicely set here and they know it.

Then IMV they have no self respect.

They should fight fire with fire. I am certain both of them know enough to get the V's on the back foot.

Sorry, MM, but the bit in bold is nonsense.

If we sign three players that would strengthen the team (which would mean two strikers and one CM) then their combined wages would be more that Rhodes is on - which would mean we are no better off from an FFP perspective.

Then IMV they have no self respect.

There's not the slightest reason to think Rhodes will either refuse to play or not give his best if selected.

Pretty clear Boro can't afford him so there's nothing really to discuss in that respect.

If a decent Premiership Club comes in it is an entirely different ball game but until then we should be thankful we've got him.

Pretty sure my post was completely in touch with reality. It's you (and paul) that is detached from it.

Your post erased a lot of history and facts.

When the Walkers were here, none of those players you mentioned were. That is what we quickly became after being infiltrated by leeches at all levels. We had a respected manager, serviceable debts in that we had valuable players in the squad and had successfully improved and traded players for fees that would give GB wet dreams, superb infrastructure and were for the best part of 20 years - like to accept it or not - an established top flight team due to shrewdness, hard work, key decision making and learning from mistakes.

Yet you think Jack would be looking down on his family thinking they should cut and run? No chance. Other than that, yeah you were slap, bang in reality.

Gestede kwied and kwief until he was sick - sold and cheaply

Samba, Jones, Dann, Olsson all wantef out, all sold

Don't paint them as anything other than a tick on the clubs arse.

Court case coming

Sorry MG Road.

It is nonsense, but that is how FFP works. Sell Rhodes, get the embargo lifted, then we'd be free to go out and spend as much as we wanted for 3 years until the next assessment. See what Boro are doing.
