Mike Graham Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Nice find but very depressing. The Donny ground was worth a fortune, Ewood is worth bog all. Our only asset is Brockhall......watch out!!
tomphil Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Was on the motorway the other Friday night going north and somehow ended up with a Cumbrian radio station on. The topic was Carlisle Utd and a bloke from their fans trust was speaking. Topics were fans trust takeover, debt, lack of communication or direction, how to address the dwindling crowds, tiny squad, losing players etc . If no names had been mentioned any Rovers fan would have mistaken it for us. This is Carlisle flipping Utd, historically small lower league club that's always seemed to be beset by problems. We aren't that far away from becoming them it seems sometimes.
Oldgregg86 Posted July 28, 2015 Author Posted July 28, 2015 I like to believe something like that would never happen to our rovers but it's still terrifying to think it's possible. How many club will continue to suffer due to greedy foreign ownership continually ripping the heart out of our beautiful game.
roverandout Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 One thing I have learned from twitter and Facebook etc is there are too many fans that are oblivious to the turmoil that is actually happening behind the scenes at rovers, many think its a simple case of keep rhodes for example means promotion we nneed to enlighten these fans as to what is really happening
Oldgregg86 Posted July 29, 2015 Author Posted July 29, 2015 I agree roverandout. Not talking about rovers but football in general. The money in football and the ease in which money can be moved around means more and more non football people are going to see football clubs as a business opportunity with no regards for the history of the club or the fans. The heart is slowly being ripped out if the game and I really don't see a way it can be stopped. Even the sepp blatter situation. The corruption involved is ridiculous and they have been untouchable for to long. The fact that only myself and two other people have commented proved what you just stated
