Make wins worth 5 points.

Slowly over the last 10 years or so we have seen more and more teams setting themselves up not to lose games rather than trying to win them.

90% of teams seem to now set up with 2 "sitting" midfielder's.

Does my head in.

I would completely wipe out the academy system and leave kids in junior local football until 16. There is no enjoyment for kids who are above average many chasing a false dream skipping from academy or centre of excellence to another with mislead parents who should just let them be.

If there was a full and frank effort to 'clean up' the game:

No-one with a criminal record can play for a professional or semi-professional team.

Yellow card = quarter weekly wage fine.

Red card = half weekly wage fine.

Straight red = full wage fine.

All donated to grassroots football.

Keeper handling outside area reduced to yellow card.

Goalkeeper cannot be given a straight red if conceding a penalty.

Agree on the last point. Double punishment and ruins an entire game

1. Salary cap for all clubs.

2. Abolish Champions League.

Then instead of a pointless competition we might have a competitive top league again and smaller clubs can dare to dream. .

Sensible idea. A club can easily survive if 1 player every year graduates to the 1st team squad (a high ratio, I know). The other 15 or so who play with that person are doing so to keep that player with a team. That's as far as their usage goes. Parents need to understand this and think when they are driving all over.

Something needs to be done about sending's off. 2 yellow's especially. Too many games are over as a spectacle because of it.

Better retroactive punishments too.

Diving should be a 10 game ban.

Punching, spitting, biting; 20 games.

Shouting at/pushing/general disrespect of the ref/linesman 30 games. Only the team captain should be allowed to speak to the referee. Petulance at the pro level bleeds down to the kids game.

All player contracts must include a provision that % of the players weekly wage that must go to the FA for grassroots football. Their agent's fee is "taxed" too during a transfer.

Also, all local FA's should get a greater slice of TV revenue.

Bring in power plays,

A 12th man on pitch allowed for 15 mins at any point during game.

Do away with offsides

No game can end a draw, after 70 minutes it should be next goal winner.

Rather than penalties , offensive player gets ball on halfway line and has 15 seconds to beat keeper.

Oh and with every new Indian owner , they get football survival kit which includes:

FAX Machine

Skype

Double air miles

Alex ferguson autobiography

Wooly hat and gloves

Yellow pages

Catch me if you can DVD

Guess who ~ board game

Some shelves

A Bag of Dog food

Quarter of winter nips

Panini sticker Album

And the latest edition of football manager

sorry its not a change to the rules of the game but bringing large sections of terracing back would at least quadruple the atmosphere.(and yes I know there are sections in the darwen end/AWAY stand where a lot of supporters already spend most of the game standing, but that's not the same :P )

as for changes to the game rules, simple, bring back proper tackling and stop pandering to lightweights(sterling types) and divers(tosser types)

1. Bring back terraces

2. Stop players feigning injury and rolling about like they were on a spaghetti western

3. Ban agents

Sorry, that is 3.........I think.

Number 3 would probably sort the game out on it's own

  • Moderation Lead

Make the Champions League into the European Cup again and just for the champions of countries, not 4th place!

How is it right that you can win your league, then have to qualify by beating a team that finished 4th? Outrageous.

1 weeks wage fine for being found guilty of diving.
